Most fun m+ healer

So I’ve tried a few healers (rdruid, rsham and hpala).

I’ve never done anything higher than a +15.

Just wondering what healers people find the most enjoyable?

I like being able to dish out some dps while I heal. I find that rdruid and rsham just kind of dps for the sake of it and the dps doesnt really impact their healing.

Can anyone recommend a healer with an active play style that I can enjoy while in M+?

Having a decent arena spec/off spec is a bonus

Thanks

Paladin is fun if you know how to, shaman is faceroll. Druid is OK, monk and priest are crap.

what dont you like about priest and monk?

If it is about dps, i would say Kyrian Holy paladin.
But i am liking Shaman and Monk a lot too.

For 9.2… 100% sham try it on PTR while you can. Just put a vesper totem onto the ground and laugh about the damage you are doing.

Druid is a bit clunky in playstyle because you have to change your forms to make dmg. And after wasting convoke for you DPS you won’t have a “oh shoot my groups stands in garbage” CD. With 9.2 at least you got a tree set bonus with good timing

Pala is still good but in my opinion the kyrian bell is more suited to casuals. 4 min ashen CD was never my favorite.

Diszi is also a valid choice. With boon of the ascended you make decent dmg but it’s harder to play if you have failer in the group.

Monk is also fun but lacking in dmg quite a bit.

As a tank: they are not good enough for high keys so I doubt it’s any fun to play them.

Hmm, indeed.

As for the OP: I have played all healers but monk in Shadowlands, and my personal ranking is (as far as fun goes): resto shaman > resto druid > disc priest > holy priest > holy paladin.

Resto shaman is nice, chill, does good damage, and come 9.2, there will be utter madness. Kyrian legendary + Chain Devastation on farm keys is just pure insane fun, and on higher keys, EE, Rocky, or Skybreaker all have their niche. And if you don’t like Vesper, Venthyr’s looking rather strong, too. As far as I remember, Resto Shaman are decent at arenas too.

Resto druid is a fun playstyle, and Kyrian + catweaving is mighty fun. They also get a sizeable buff next patch, and will be a very strong healer with good dps. Also, people will beg you to simp them, which is quite funny! Fae is also nice, and Necrolord resto druids in arena are - as far as I can tell - pretty strong.

Priest is also decent, though I found it less fun to play. I only ever played Kyrian, and while Boon is nice, it’s also a bit bland, and it really begs for you to pop an inky black potion for every key. Between Holy and Disc, I found disc to be more fun to play, but holy wasn’t bad either. As for arenas? RMP.

Pallies… Ellesmere sums it up nicely here: https://www.twitch.tv/ellesmere_gaming/clip/MoldyCrepuscularHawkKAPOW-stffd2IO2CqIHAG1. That was my experience too. Kyrian is better, they can actually heal, but holy power and being so heavily cooldown based just wasn’t my thing.

I have tried all healers and my fave for 5 man content is Resto Shaman, enough cooldowns to get past anything and also good dps contribution when heal demand is low…

But I expect that some prefer other healers, Holy Priest is quite good fun and so is Resto Druid

I love my Horde Hpala so I am very biased, and I am going to stay with it even spite the incoming (some of it deserved) nerf. I didn’t even intend to like it, It just kinda grew on me lol.

I like being at the baddies, while throwing out huge heals on demand, while still having a lot of tools to protect my grp on a whim. And I look forward to try alternate playstyles than just Vent.

Monk for mobility and joy. Shaman is a very close second because of the interrupt, but monk hps is reassuring in panic times.

Did it get a buff or something?

Monks seemed to struggle really bad with prideful in season 1.

My top 3 fun healers are:

  1. Shaman
  2. Druid
  3. Monk

They’re all very close. Shaman and druid have way more stuff than monks, but monks have 1 really fun spell (Ring of Peace), fast mobility, and they get to punch and kick mobs nonstop.

Holy pala can be pretty fun, but they’re a real pain to play in melee-punishing affix weeks.

Priests are in last place for me. Holy have too many keybinds, and Disc is just too complicated and punishing.

… What.

Shamans have way more keybinds. As do druids.

That was season 1, this isn’t :smile_cat:

Tear of Morning legendary, big mastery build, enjoy your absurd hps. Melee is nice but optional.

You can fistweave too, it’s efficient, it might even be optimal at keys above 15, but if a clutz like me can get through a 18s and 19s with ToM, it’s ok, and it feels very safe and comfortable. Be very surprised to struggle to tick off a weekly.

Druid, followed by holy paladin.

Not priest in general, but I would never want to play disc in keys because at the level that im play people tend to take alot of damage that could otherwise be avoided, and reactive healing doesnt play that well with a class that has alot of proactive setup.

As for a monk, I think (albeit it might be due to differences in gear level) that relative healing of most spells is lower than last expansion (where I mained MW for 3 patches) and playstyle seems to be forced towards kickweaving, which im still not used to (especially maintaining melee range at all times since I barely ever played melee classes) and as a result perform much worse than I used to.

Druids have the biggest toolkit, and is the most complex of all the healers to maximise dps/while holding team alive. Shaman has a big toolkit, but is much more forgiving and easy to learn, while still being a fun spec.

Disc, HolyPala, MW and HolyPriest are boring tier in keys (imo)

If we are talking strictly about fun not peeformance viability or even commenting on how hard it is to get into groups i would vote for disc.
BFA crit corruption disc was insanely fun in m+.
