I tried to level a Brewmaster monk but found it boring up until lvl 20. I feel like I don’t have that many aoe abilities, something I find fun in lvling.
Can anyone recommend a tank to level that they find fun?
Thx in advance!

Pala. Also fastest leveling through questing with prot pala.
Can confirm that Brewmaster did not feel fun when leveling. Deleted it when I reached 47 or so as it just felt so terribly weak… Leveled a DK afterwards, was fun while leveling and felt a lot stronger.
I lvled 9 prot warrs purely cause i find them fun to lvl
Prot palas and warriors are awesome.
Prot Paladin.
I have level several Paladins all Prot.
They have good damage for a low level tank and Light of the Protector is a fun ability in my opinion.
They also have decent utility that can be used on teammates if they’re in trouble or save your life if your pull was too big.
Prot pala and warrior.
For leveling I will go with warrior even though my main is pala. Ignore pain is way good during leveling.
Can’t go wrong with a shield bearing tank.
My main is a holy pala so I’m gonna try to level a prot war to see how it feels. Thanks for all the replies!
Just gonna echo what other people have said and say Prot Paladin or Prot warrior.
They’re both very good at leveling, and strong at max level. Naturally you’ll be a bit more reliant on a healer as a Warrior.
I can only offer my experience.
Here’s my tank list:
Most fun: Warrior, short Cds and victory rush makes you want to kill mobs all the time.
Monk gave me the least confidence of them all. I think it’s a good tank for High Mithic+, but I never had any confidence with this class.
Demon Hunter can keep up, fighting dungeon boss even after the whole party is dead in a normal dungeon.
I miss my Warrior charges and heroic leap when playing my paladin.
Never liked the Dk animation spells and lore.
Players complain that they lack mobility as well.
Never get to apreciate my transmogs on my druid.
Best class to save money in transmogs in my opinion.
Prot pala or GOBLIN BDK.
Palas are great, you feel powerful, deal decent damage and you really have to try hard to die.
BDKs are very slow, have a few very fun spells, and generally look good. However go Goblin and rocket jump alleviates this lack of mobility.
Wanna tank 15 or 16 TD?
sry for offtopic
I think that counts as self harm
Why nobody mentioned Vengeance Demon Hunter?
Is only their Havoc DPS spec OP?
I had a lot of fun leveling a prot pala.
I leveled a bear recently and just smashing through solo content was a ride.
I think most fun tank to level is DH(because the fun starts once you finish leveling lol).
Mostly because there are much fewer levels to get through before max level, there you actually have more engaging tanking.
So boring leveling, painfully easy dungeons that provide no real challenge.
At 120 all viable, all have their niches, but I figure you specifically ment leveling content.
I can’t really pick one but I really enjoy DK, Druid and Paladin, all solid at sustaining themselves in fights and keep you busy.
Probably druid in general for leveling as I can que as everything and have the ques pop quicker.
Death knight. Only class that did not bore me to dead in tank spec and world/dungeons.
Lvl it to 90, choose jade wind in talents, enjoy.
There is no token answer. Most Tanks don’t have AoE before lvl 20 and some far beyond. When choosing a Tank, go with the playstyle you enjoy most. Proactive /reactive? Avoidance / absorb? Mobility / control? No Tank offers all.
DK’s have amazing control over mobs but they are reactive absorb tanks with the mobility of a concrete wall. Monks are proactive absorb tanks with high mobility.
Your choice should depend on the playstyle you enjoy. Something that’s fun for me might be painfully boring to you and the other way around.
