In my opinion (and even though its not a voiceline, but rather a speech), yet, Algalon’s Speech at Ulduar b4, during & after the fight is something outta this world.
Me, when Bungie Management ruins Destiny 2 last month forever with the layoffs, showing the true colors of the corporate greed publically and also that there is no turning back anymore.
I don’t understand why people like this at all. It made me cringe then and still makes me cringe now.
Sylvanas doesn’t have the voice to be shouting that warcry. She committed a senseless warcrime moments before this so doesn’t have gravitas or honour; she doesn’t deserve to use it. And the timing of it is also kind of bizarre in that scene. She should have shouted it before she jumped so people knew to watch her heroics and then feel encouraged.
But what’s worse is that it was a lie. She didn’t care about the Horde, even then. The warshout that so many people are raving about is actually just a murdering psychopath yelling the mantra of the people she intended to betray.
I’ll take Dranosh’s warshout in WOTLK over this one any day.
That line is weaker than a LvL 1 kobold.
The most iconic line is: You are not prepared
Even though it’s not that great, it spawned a 1000 memes.
The most iconic voice is Thrall
The most iconic theme is a hard call. It’s either Seasons of War or Arthas, My Son.
Lord Victor Nefarius yells: Congratulations! Allow me to grant you a title befitting the amazing achievement you just performed. Henceforth you shall be known as the “Slayer of Stupid, Incompetent, and Disappointing Minions.”
indeed and the fact that he repeats said line during the fight is ridiculous actually but hammy in a"way"
aye better iconic line is any from warcraft 3 thrall
but most that stuck with me are the ones you can hear even while not playing said game
edited to not mention which ones sorry haha
Wrath of the Lich King. The Titans. This guy, his voice, that scene:
The context matters, and the context is that prior to Wrath of the Lich King the lore and story had always treated The Titans as beings of myth and legend. There were some ancient creatures and ruins here and there, but otherwise not much. Peripheral stuff mainly.
In Wrath of the Lich King Blizzard opens the Pandora’s box, so to speak. And it’s a build-up from Dragonblight and through Sholazar Basin and into the Storm Peaks, going through the Halls of Thunder and Halls of Lightning and finally Ulduar itself. Along the way you see all these Titan creations from the lesser ones and all the way to the Watchers, but the big reveal is missing. It’s like The X-Files where Mulder is always just short of seeing the aliens. He sees everything that points to aliens, but not the aliens themselves. It’s the same in Wrath of the Lich King.
But then, there he is. Algalon the Observer. He looks cosmic. He fits the description, sort of. He is not them, but he is like them. He is the harbringer of beings who at this point are basically treated as the Gods themselves. He has to deliver, this is a huge story and lore moment and you can’t close that Pandora’s box again. And he totally does. His voice is cold, measured, calm. He is clearly presented as one speaking to lesser beings, lesser minds. His appearance, the room, the whole act of doing an elaborate intro for a boss – which is really the intro for The Titans – is so well put-together. It’s not overdone. It’s not overexplained. It’s satisfying without being over-indulging.
Blizzard rarely gets this kind of stuff right anymore, but that time they got it right.
Everyone hates her and I dislike what they did to her the last expansion too… But she had the best voice lines and awesome character before she became the jailers plot piece. I was a huge fan
Closet Forsaken biggest fan who plays a vulpera lol.
