Mother vendor cycling : simple question. Why and who?

Who in the dev team thought that there wasnt enough complaints about RNG upon RNG to think for a second that adding a cycling RNG vendor to fix the appalling design that is corruption, was a good idea? Who?

Why on earth and what does it serve to have this vendor cycle? Other that breed frustration that in one week a player didnt have the currency for purchase and need to wait god knows how long for it to reappear on the vendor?

I am baffled.

PS: cant you for the love of all that is holy fix the bug that makes the gear that we got in the weekly chest the previous week impossible to re-corrupt? can you please? can you?

PS2: for the blue guy reading this. I apologize profusely for the tone. This is not directed at you and is an indication, if any, of the many frustrations that have been mounting among the player base for many month.

Yeeeep. Exactly my feeling. I wasn’t aware of it, showed up to MOTHER to find out that you in fact couldn’t just get the corruption you wanted (not even the rank you want, what a joke).

I’d like to make a toast to my past self from yesterday, who heard about a corruption vendor and thought the game would be fun again before Shadowlands. Haaaaa I was so naive back then :’)

Just pure old timegating. They want this xpack to remain relevant a bit longer and just giving you everything on the vendor would be counter productive. Gives you a reason to stay subbed longer i guess.

Also prevents players from stacking gushing wounds or similar corruptions to an obscene degree on day one and then proceed to crush anyone who didn’t gather 20+k echoes in the past few months.

Just check the us forums (wasn’t posted yet on eu i think), it’s already fixed for recently cleansed items.

I assume the corruptions available cycle just like how Orgrimmar/Stormwind Visions cycle, so Set A of corruptions in week 1, Set B of corruptions in week 2, then back to Set A corruptions in week 3

Not really RNG, but also feels like it’s unnecessary unless corruption was already designed to only give a specific set of corruptions based on the week, but that seems just as unlikely as seeing a cycle as a good idea

Only recently cleansed items. My best items were cleansed more than 3 weeks ago. They cannot be corrupted anymore. Thus my entire frustration with corruption not dropping for my toon, I am now slapped by another harsh penalty: hey, you see those nice items you got from weekly chest and had to clean because of the horrendeous corruption on them? Well you wont be able to corrupt them!

what a joke!!!

It seems as though that’s not going to be the case.

There are 52 corruptions and only 6 show up on the vendor at a time. The vendor changes twice a week (with the assault resets i think). This means it will take 5 weeks to cycle through all corruptions if they are on a strict rotation. If they show up randomly then who knows how long you may have to wait for the corruption you want

You are asking a question Blizzard can’t answer, because nobody in Blizzard knows what they are doing right now.

Because the cyclical availability is BFA in a nutshell, rares, world bosses, world quests, zone quests, dailies, events, island boxes, and now corruptions.
I don’t think theres more to it than that since every other area of BFA works in cycles that they made this work the same.

You people have no sense of compromise~ I would not give you even vendors

I do have to smile that this fix is typical blizzard style. We are going to give you what you want but not in a way you expect.

At the end of the day it is good we are getting a vendor but it’s a bit of pain having to wait for the full 4.5 week rotation.

Dudes… you really think they will give you honest answer ?

Answer is: MAU - make them play more and more so investors are happy so we keep jobs/keep getting money,

Who is the author? Mr K. ? Doesn’t matter.

You either unsub or go along with it, they wont change that philosophy.

Unless you just want to qq, vent etc, then fine. But it wont stop doing it.

Only money, when it talks.

I’d rather they hadn’t given us corruption at all
The problem isn’t the lack of vendors, those vendors simply mitigate the amount of bad that is corruption
I’ve stopped playing the game beyond RP myself because my care about power progression is at an all time low, I don’t think that was Blizzards intention with Corruption for some reason

Their logic on corruption rotation is silly. I’d use other words but then I’d get silenced again. Having all corruptions available at all times would be a much better solution. I could try stacking haste on my DH, stacking Inf Truth on my dh to use meta every 60 seconds, go for full haste build on FROST mage and what not. I’d have so much fun grinding echoes and trying different builds but blindsided blizzard has to timegate everything.

They trying to motivate us do things now and not in our own pace. For example if I want multiple pieces of +12% haste corruption I have to run a lot of visions now, or I might have to wait month or two before it appears on vendor again.

And I will run those visions now.
