Mount abilities

Who else thinks Blizzard should make more like family / mount specified abilities rather then removing water strider walking and making all mounts equal?

Like eg. Horses would have a bit higher jumping, cats would be 5% faster, etc…

When I am mounted, I want a button to dismount a targeted mounted player, whether in air or on ground. Put a suitable cd on it, and close range, for fairness.

Definitely! I think the whole system that mounts use in this game is archaic and largely un-fun. Having abilities could make traversal a bit more dynamic, especially if they put in some risk reward into it somehow.

A problem, though, is that Blizzard have so many different mount types. I struggle to come up with an idea for one ability that could suit one type. But they have developers who are paid for that sort of thing. :slight_smile:

While I do not think they are handlling the waterstrider correctly (I do not mind of that mount keeps it’s waterwalking, as long as it follows Sky Golem’s rules), I am all for the new mount equipment(s), mainly because I hate that godawful bug with every fiber of my being, but I am forced to use it to go around.

There are many things which break my immersion :rofl:, its lame that I can’t use my rocket mount to get to the moon :laughing:, and I don’t know how those animal mounts like pigs, tigers, moose and all other I see there in the air can fly even since I thought how flying is reserved only for zeppelins, birds and dragons. All that is Blizzard fault surely since its so anti-fun, against the player choice and the immersion :roll_eyes:

I think it would be too much work.

A more immersive way would be to get a mount equipment slot, but let that slot be different for all mounts, so you can set up which mount to use for what.

Also, make a few exceptions. Water Striders were grindy, so they should be handled a little bit differently, and with love. Make them have passive waterwalking, AND add a mount item slot. Since being hit already makes you lose waterwalking an anti-daze equipment will not be as interesting on it, but it’s still useful in a few cases.

Also add new waterwalking mounts, instead of making waterwalking available to all mounts (this way Shamans and Death Knights are satisfied, as they get to use ALL mounts on water), only allow the waterwalking mounts to walk on water. BUT in the case of the new ones, make two categories.

One category would be grindeable but hard and long to obtain, they should have an equipment slot. Buyable ones (that require no grind) should have no equipment slot and they would only have a passive effect for waterwalking.

There, every single person is satisfied.

And because of what reason were death knights blessed with an water walking ability without ever grinding for it ? I don’t see why that ability should be at all class related….

there is a lot of things they could do whit mount abilities.

like speed burst
mega jump, might kill you
burrow, yes you go underground for a while, could be used to hide from your opponent.
gathering skill to other mounts, those who atleast have arms.
firebreath, that puts people on fire, doesnt need to kill them just for the lulz.
shrink or make your mount bigger.

all kinds of things if they so wanted to.

They could combine both these things.

Got water strider? No need for shoes, use anti dismount item.

Got kodo that cant be dismounted? Use water shoes.

Shaman with water walking and kodo? Use item that allows you to stay mounted indoors.

etc etc …
