hey guys i’ve been out of the game for quite a while and looking for tips in general but also i’ve been getting back into mount collecting was looking for help and tips with this that anyone might have.

The lord of the reins guide that was shared is brilliant covers everything. But as far as actually going out and farming dont completely set your sights on the 1% drop raid/dungeon mounts. Some people end up running them hundreds of times before they drop. Farm the easier to get mounts as your main priority and just run the raids/dungeons a few times a week. The argus rare drops are a good place to start theyre reasonably easy to get.

Like has been said get easier ones first from rep and if you do go after raid ones make a alt with a save and invite youself via LFG .
For raid and dungeon mounts ive seen people hit 1000s of kills before dropping so dont be disheartened.
Got at first try.
I guess is the universe rebalancing itself for never dropping the damn azure drake from eye even with 6 run every week.
Stupid advice, but still: make money. Sometimes it’s just easier to buy mounts on AH, or items for them (e.g. bones for wihte raptor or shard for blood serpent). Or to buy spawnspot/ready-to-kill of some rares (TLPD/Voidtalon/Alani).
If you want to farm hard, you usually want more chars to go. Make all of your 120 alts (if you have some) at least 340-350 through WQ’s - just to farm faster and easier. BfA made old raids just a little bit harder to kill, so if you want to clear old raids faster, you need some gear.
Engineering is obligatory. Wormholes will save you so much time. Also Jeeves is pretty good for clearing your bags sometimes.
Make some simple spreadsheet for yourself - it will help you to make a target to go, optimize your farm route and to count, how much you’ve been in here.
And also, don’t forget to make a beautiful altar of sacrifices to our God and Saviour RNGesus.

Here is a tip from someone who have played since day one and collected 99% of the mounts, toys, pets, xmogs in the game.
Best tip you can ever get: DON’T EVEN START!
Here is why. I always loved collecting mounts, pets, toys, xmogs. I always had pretty much everything you could get up until BFA but BFA is so bat$#!t crazy that even someone such as myself can’t keep up and decided to give up and quit because how insane BFA is and believe me I tried to keep up. They are adding 30 mounts 30 pets 30 toys every patch. BFA probably has already more Mounts Toys and Pets added than Vanilla+TBC+WotLK+MoP combined. It would take you playing 16h a day every day for months to get BFA collected. There are so many mounts that cost insane amount of gold like 5mln, 500k, 500k, 333k, 333k, 333k, 60k, 60k, 60k and then come the RNG mounts that are just WTF seriously? Seriously don’t bother. Just wait for 15th anniversary Deathwing mount and you will never ever need another mount again.
Well if you still wanna go for it here are some other tips.
- Create and level to 120 around 15 to 20 alts with like 350ilvl+ Timewalking gear so you can have more attempts per week. (yup I got 20 alts and getting some Darkshore mounts took me months.)
- Create some list of instance to clear so you can easily see which runs on which alts you already done. I use TinyPad addon. It’s simple but does the job done. Just a ingame notepad.
- Have one of the alts that will keep saves with all boss killed up till the boss you need to farm so you can easily join that save on your other alts and kill just the boss you need for the mount. And remember to extend that alt’s lockout every reset to keep the saves for your other alts. (some raids sadly can’t be saved that way and you will have to clear the whole thing from the start every time. Like Dragon Soul heroic, Mogu’shan Vault, Siege of Origrimmar Mythic (all mythic raids but SoO is the worst cause there are no skips like in the later Mythic Raids. So it’s better to buy Mythic SoO mount from Black Market Auction House) So I really wouldn’t bother doing Mythic SoO mount runs takes way too long just go BMAH will be much much faster to grind the gold.
- Get addon World Boss Tracker for MoP bosses. (don’t bother with Sha mount, I’m already at 4500 kills and 4500 coins. You won’t get it anyway tbh)
- Try to focus first on farming mounts from 2 expansions prior which can be fast and easily done solo.
- Get addon All the Things which shows you what mounts you are missing in each zone.
- Use coins only on world bosses cause you can’t coin roll a mount from an instance boss.

If I didn’t know better I’d be thinking you’re lying, ofc there’s lucky people who do 1 run and get it but there’s also those who do 600 and get 20 alysrazor and 20 ragnaros mounts, like me, can’t be a coincidence.
I think your next 100 runs will have at least 4 ragnaros mounts in!
I have had Alysrazor 3 times. But I run it on a minimum of 3 chars, sometimes as many as 7 chars every week for around 1.5 years so far… I was beginning to think the raggy mount didnt drop anymore but a twitter friend got it yesterday lol.
I got firehawk 3 times in one day while I was farming for mace xmog. That mount dropped like 5 times for me overall.
