So I have currently 4 mounts on my wow account as I bought 4 hawkstriders (4 different colours) however if I look at my collection on my character on this website it says I have 8 this includes 3 different colour Elekks and a unpainted mechanostrider can someone help with this lol

The achievements in game are based on how many mounts a particular character has/can use.

The in game mounts ui shows you how many mounts you have on your faction.

The armory seems to show all mounts you have regardless of faction.

So for me I have

Achievement on character - there is no higher one so I can’t track that atm
Mount UI in game - 531 mounts
Armory - 575 mounts

Most of the horde mounts give you also alliance equivelants. That’s why you got those Elekks and Meachanostrider. They are alliance mounts and hawkstriders are horde mounts. There are some exceptions but for the most part this is the rule you buy a horde mount you automaticly get alliance mount to your collection.

@Punyelf, you have clothes back again! Also Athenarosa seems to be a new player that just bought four BE mounts and wonders where other 4 come from.

the best way to earn those faction mounts are to

  1. create a new trial character of the desired faction & race
  2. send couple of 100g to your newly created character
  3. take the new character to your racial mount seller & buy all the mounts you can
  4. send the change back to your main character & delete the new character.
  5. repeat from step 1 until you’re satisfied / have them all.

normally you would need to be exalted with each race in order to buy these, but if you’re playing as the same race as the racial mount seller then you dont need to be exalted.
as an example, if you’re tauren then you can buy tauren mounts at the tauren mount seller or if your a goblin then you can buy goblin mounts.

the only difficult thing in this method is finding each mount seller, but thats easily fixed through couple of google searches

Since hawkstriders are basically Silvermoon reputation mounts that blood elves can get for free at lvl 20-40, you’ll get the alliance equivalent faction mounts which are the elekk mounts.

Once you make an alliance character, you’ll see those 4 other mounts available to you at lvl 20.
