So, as much time I’ve spent on WoW I’ve just come to the realisation, I’ve never farmed a mount…
So my question to you is, how do I go about getting them? What’s the quickest way to grind a few mounts? What’s some good easy ones to start out with? Also im leveling some alts so is it possible to get some mounts on lower levels or will I have to use my main?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Just looking for a change to my Spectral Gryphon that won’t take weeks of rep and guild raids xD
Well, the first mounts you can get is the bronze drake from culling of Stratholme HC, where you have to get to the end of the dungeon in 20 minutes? pretty easy on a 100+
next mount is the bear from Zul’aman, which involves freeing all the prisoners within the time limit, again pretty easy on a 100+
Both those mounts are near 100% drop chance.
The next mounts to farm is the blue drake and the azure drake from Malygos, blue has a 20% drop rate, not sure what the azure one’s drop rate is.
The only mount you can farm while levelling is rivendare’s death charger from Stratholme, but that only has a 1% drop chance as is.
No luck getting the blue drake on any my characters, I did however run the instance in Dragonblight and got myself the Twilight Drake on the first run, so I do thank you ever so much for pointing me in the right direction! Didn’t think it would be as easy as one shotting a boss and crossing your fingers haha
Rep mounts are pretty consistent. If you’d like a taste of farming for a reputation mount, try the guide on the Netherwing/ mana rays from Burning Crusade. Netherwing takes a long time, but they’re pretty cool and you get to pick between a few colors, same with the mana rays. Mana rays can be done pretty quickly if you read up on it, can easily be obtained in a day. For a daily/weekly farm try Tanaan Jungle/Timeless isle, tho Tanaan takes a longer time I think, but Timeless has no flying on it. Good luck, I’m a bit of a noob myself on mounts, only got a few more than 350 (there’s like another 100 I need to get before I can really call myself a decent mount collector).
