Mount water walking equipment - What works and what does not work

For is thinking of fitting water walking equipment on their mounts her are some things you may want to know:

What works:

  1. All mounts, ground and flying, can run on the water surface until you are attacked at which time you loose you water walking ability.
  2. Once you have lost you water walking ability you can only get it back by dismounting and then mount up again and then jump to get back on the water’s surface same as the water strider mount use to work.

What does not work:

  1. The Druid travel form does not get the water walking ability. When you hit the water you simply change into your swimming form.
  2. The “Red Flying Cloud” works the same as the other mounts, but you can not mount up in swimming depth water so if you dismount or get dismounted in swimming depth water you can not mount up on it again. You have to swim to dry land before you can mount up and carry on. I suggest keeping another mount on you action bars so you can mount up jump onto the water’s surface and continue.
  3. If you get attacked while on the “Red Flying Cloud” mount it is not easy to see that you have lost your water walking ability as the disc still rides above the water’s surface, only the cloud underneath the disc is underwater. The only indication is a severe speed decrease.

This is so far what I have encountered pertaining to the water walking equipment.
