Irony … I hope?
Achievements are just information about what you did, so even if there are no official account achievements they can be calculated based on your character achievements, having account achievements with addons.
I will vote for achievements that would be shared per account. But not for mounts.
As mentioned above, achievements (and titles) are only information about the player and his experience, which does not affect the gameplay in any way.
So, for example, if I just lvled 80 my alt , put it on the pre-raid and want to get into the Naxx. Well? It will be difficult for me to do this, because already now everyone needs my achievement for this Naxx.
I mean it really isn’t a big deal.
I’m not for it but the way people are acting about the suggestion is kind of… autistic.
I’m also against it.
I disagree. I love collecting mounts/transmog in retail and just because those things are account wide makes playing alts not feel wasted. I get where the OP is coming from, for example you do HH on an alt you barely touch and you win the mount, while you farmed it for years on your main. It feels bad. Almost nobody RP’s anymore and thinks twice why your ‘new’ chars has titles or mounts.
In WoW classic (vanilla) yeah okay, let that stay as is, but for wrath where achievements and tons of mounts are introduced making them account bound would actually make people level more alts I think.
This happened to me I played for years on my main, and never got HH mount. My son made a Rogue on my account - just for fun - and got it on his first run. I HATED that it was account bound - No fun running HH any more, I did anyway out of spite, and never got that dang-blasted mount before I quit Retail in 2018.
I still do not like account-bound anything. It so takes the fun out of both main and alts!
RP has nothing to do with it, I don’t roleplay (apart for staying in character on the RP realm)-. But my ‘new’ characters are just this: new!
Let account-bound anything come with Cata as it did first time around - that’s where I quit anyway.
PS. I loved collecting mounts, pets and Achievements in Retail too, but only until Account-wide anything and those story-line achievements spoiled the fun.
I even did the “What a long, strange trip” on my main and one alt!
Well okay that is just weird to me
Don’t take this too hard but I think you might be the outlier in the way you look at this. The debate about account wide stuff in wrath classic is moot anyway since they won’t implement this, and it wasn’t in WoTLK originally so it’s normal for people to want to preserve the way it was.
But for someone to hate hate account wide stuff in retail is ultra rare. I know a lot of people that level up alts just to get a higher chance for mounts. I just got the Onyxia Drake on retail yesterday on an alt and it felt amazing, even though I don’t use that alt aside for mount mount farming.
I know I’m not a typical Retil player, I hate too many of the things there. And that’s why I fight wiht everything I have against the implementation of these retailifying changes to Classic.
I love everything to be character-only.
I love levelling to be slow.
I love achievements to be achievements, not just given for participation. (cooking in BfA was an example of what I intensely disliked)
I love to read Quest texts to know what to do, and look for long for whatever it awas I was supposed to find.
I love in short how Vanilla, TBC and to a cretain degrre Wrath was (and is).
All that is fine ofc, but you have to realize that Wrath - and especially the Classic version we have now - is Retail Light at this point.
Back in original WotLK people already complained about there being no attunements, auto grouping, easy raids and HC’s, less worth of gold, faster lvling with heirlooms etc etc. People geared up a fast leveled alt with badge gear and were ready to raid in a week. Gonna be the same now.
You’re a regular poster here on the classic forums but I truly believe your ‘home’ is the Classic ERA realms. Not that I don’t want you posting on the wrath forums, don’t get me wrong but you don’t seem like you enjoy wrath at all really.
Achievements are literally participation trophies, even in wrath.
Lvl 10: achievement
Deadmines done: achievement
Loot 100g: achievement
I could go on but you get it. They were not introduced to show off your achievements in game, they were designed as a carrot on a stick so you play more, trying to get to the next ‘achievement’.
I do realize with sowrrow and a heavy heart, as I had looked forward to Wrath and achievements - and that is why I play mainly Era, only wisiting Wrath for seasonal Achievements.
I forgot to add:
I love the original UI, not using addons to “improve” on it, only a coulpe to remove twhat BLizz has added.
I love spending hours runnig a dungeon, learning and letting others leann while we play.
I don’t mind wiping, I don¨t mind waithing for Healer to get full mana …
Some of them are of course, and that is as it should be, but Brew-Fast, cooking, the Chef de Cuisine one, some of the more exotic (loving the critters - eating strange things … ) and most of all “What a Long strange Trip” is not just participation trophies. Yo have to be kind of out to get them to do so. I was a colloector of strange things and recipes before the Achievements came in OG Wrath, so I loved oit whan the canme.
I realised when we were told that Wrath Classic would be build on 3.3.5 that I would never get the OG Wrath back, only the easy mode. And further with no RDF - which I am not against - I would never get to do Dungeons - the Teleport was what let me do dungeons in OG Wrath - and I have not gotten more time or better at hiding my frustration over the travelling time there and back since then.
This is why I stand up for #NoChanges whenever possible.

Nope, #NoChanges. Gief Wrath like it was - purge all "Q"oL changes from Era. There’s too much that has been re-made and addons can’t change everything back.
This is exactly why I mostly play Era with my few “Remove Blizz’s ‘improvements’ addons” and wish for more.
Don’t want to destroy your dreams but shared account achievements came with cata, however most unique titles didn’t share and neither mounts and pets. Account wide mounts and pets came in MoP and personal titles like rank 14 etc came way way later.
I’ve yet to have anyone properly explain to me what’s hugely different about this version of WotLK when compared to original WotLK, to the extent that people describe it as ‘retail lite’ or ‘ruined’ etc.
The only differences I can think of are mega-servers.
As far as I’m aware it looks, feels, and plays precisely how original WotLK looks feels and plays, so clearly I’m missing something.
No use asking the hardcore meta-min/maxers for their input as they’ll just respond with a bunch of stuff about how X raid boss did xxxxxx.y.13 in original but does xxxxxx.y.14 in Classic, and no use asking the PvPers as they’ll just make a similar microstat response about Resilience having xxxxxx.y.15 more milliborgs of woobars than it did in the original.
But none of that kind of stuff means anything to me. So what is it that’s so hugely different, besides mega-servers?
Yes you are missing something. When NOT talking of dungeons, you - any class and spec - are way overpowered compared to the beginning of Wow. Add then all the changes that - I think - Jeynar listed upo, that only came later in Wrath … and tghen all the changes Blizz implemented, paintings, /spit missing., random NPC’s renamed or deleted, barber shop remade, dismount arrow, etc etc … The difference is actually quite big.
I would like to feel like you that nothing changed. I had that feel during Demo at BLizzcon, later it was not there. Strange things happen.
Well those random NPCs renamed, removal of spitting etc. are not endemic to WotLK. This was implemented in TBC because Blizzard panicked after the California lawsuit.
It’s certainly true that classes and specs are considerably more powerful when compared to Vanilla, but - are they more powerful when compared to the original WotLK? Has WotLK Classic significantly buffed classes to levels way beyond their original incarnation in 2008?
I’ve never had cause to use the barbershop, so can’t really comment on that.
By dismount arrow, I assume you mean the ability to leave a taxi mount before it has arrived at it’s destination? If so, that was brought in way back in Classic Era.
I know some of the changes hail back to Classic launch or TBCC - that does not make them feel like OG Wrath
Playing with patch 3.3.5 changes to almost everything makes for faster, stronger, … characters in game (only Hunters being hopelesly bugged) as compared to OG launch of Wrath.
And yes I played - and loved Wrtah back then. I began playing in oct 2006 - over 16 years ago now. And I was old enough to remember
He is a troll.
