Totally agree with you
I proudly admit I have brought a boost because I lacked both the time, skill and guild to kick N’Zoth’ tentacled behind to get the void dragon
I wanted it she is perfect for my void elf shadow priest and looks cool - and now I have it
Absolutely no one knows or cares - including me - about how I aquired it
Everyone and anyone who believes it some “badge of honour” to have something are living in a fantasy world where they are the single most important person and others give a rat’s fury behind about what and how they got it
I’ve been saying that too! I have so many items that have been removed and I’d share them with people without a 2nd thought. Yes, I do agree that hard stuff should have rewards specific to it but clearly the community wants to be rewarded for actually playing the game regardless of level (:
After reading everything here… Only thing that comes to mind is:
What if I do have those mounts and ultra rare hard to obtain transmogs and don’t use them? Wouldn’t THAT be a waste of time for the artist knowing there are people out there who are the best of the best and they aren’t even using the mog/mount that they SPENT HOURS (Probably) making it?
And since we’re grabbing IRL stuff as well… WHAT if I’m a boss and I prefer to ride a simple, cheap car and live in a simple apartment amongst other middle class people and what if I don’t want to date “hot girls” because I’m happy being alone just waking up in my NORMAL apartment amonst NORMAL people, riding a NORMAL CHEAP CAR or even better taking public transports but still be loaded but barely spent any of it… Am I a waste of a person? Did I just wasted my time getting all that money and not flaunt it?
Next thing you’re going to try and convince is that Blizzard should lock players from creating a character from either faction and/or race because “Why should you get items from other factions? Didn’t you create a human? WHY should you get the Forsaken Greatsword from the Forsaken Starter questline? WHY should you have access to weapons that can only be obtained by playing on the opposite faction?! Didn’t you pick Alliance?! TOUGH!”
I think once that season is over or even if you had to wait for the end of expansion, then it’s not a big deal to open things up to others. The prestige has been and gone.
I do think there are a lot of things available in wow, so on the whole I don’t mind terribly that there are the odd things I can’t get. However I’m not going to be upset if they release everything to everyone. I would definitely go grab them all.
There is even ways to still make it “not a handout”… Just like the vicious saddles, they could make it so, if you get lets say 1.8 on priest, well, then you earn the tmog, and every win from that, earns you a % and once you are at 100% you can go buy any elite set from previous seasons / classes… This could also be for the glad mounts, you get the initial one, and every win from there gets you towards a saddle for older ones…
“Oh but some seasons are easier than others!” well yeah, then do what they did with the Spectral Tiger mount… Name the mounts differently, so one is called “Crimson Gladiator’s Drake” and the one you buy for token is called “Timewarped Crimson Gladitor’s Drake” or something… So people that don’t care for the prestige can still enjoy the mount it self, but the ones that care for “I got it in the relevant season!!” can still boast that they have the “original gigachad mount”…
Because as you and Alysea said… I’ve also heard multiple streamers say they don’t care for the tmog / mounts… They are cool, but they dont care
I do really like all the different mounts BUT I feel like it would be good update the mount collection interface. I would almost rather have all the mounts that are the same but recolors be one but you can just choose which color you want. Kinda like in the outfit tab where you have like the tier sets or outdoor sets but you have a tab for all the different colors. Just to make the list a bit shorter.
Or, you know, maybe introduce other features as rewards instead of just mounts, pets and gear?
Like hairstyles and eye colours and makeup looks! Or even new spell glyphs recolouring abilities to change their theme! Or even hoodies that display hair underneath!
They lack the creativity or the resources when it comes to giving rewards.
Ye, this is a good point. Maybe they could add medal icons next to our names, in addition to titles. And now that they regularly update the UI, they could add different frames for different interface elements and different fonts (or completely new symbols) for dmg and healing numbers.
It’s faster to just put a recolor on already created items, it takes basically 1 day to get it ready for 80% of the next trading post month.
It’s the same with professions, there is so much they could add (the glyph you mentioned, some recolor for mechanical mount by engineers, for others via alchemy, etc…). The options are endless, but their time capacity for it seem extremely limited.
Blizzard rewarding people with mounts and toys remember me on one kid:
True story:
5yo girl got more toys than entire kindergarten, for her BDay I buyed her barbie on horse with accesories, overall good present for 5yo kid right? but she was lazy to untie or tear cardboard which hold the horse, so basicly she get present which she didnt even bother to unpack and even today that horse is tied to carboard… why? because she already has 1000 toys, and nothing is fun for her because overwhelming amount of toys she get and already have.
See the issue? all you guys who demand from blizzard raining rewards are that girl, and you: just want anything to be yours and worthless, not to mention that your stance toward gaming is catastrophic, instead earning stuff you demand it to be given
