Mounts farming with friends

Hey all

I have a few questions about how the loot system works for legacy raids , Legion/BFA content.

I used to solo farm mounts so I have no experience in the followings:

Lets say there is a mount with 1% drop rate at a Legacy Raid (ex.Cataclysm) and you decide to go with a friend to farm it. (Not a stranger, not a ninja)

  1. If none of you already got the mount, you have to /roll for it and trade it, and that makes the chance to recieve it 0,5% right? (0,5% for each person)
  2. If you already got the mount then can you just accompany your friend there as long as you can trade the mount to him in case you loot it? (So 1% for him, as if he was soloing.)

Now in case of a Legion Raid with a mount of 1% drop rate. Same case (you go with a friend to 2-man)

  1. If you already got the mount then in case you loot it, can you trade it to your friend? (so actually its 2% for him to recieve the mount?) or it’s not possible to trade mounts between members on the new raids?

So…

  1. Is it a disadvantage to farm Legacy Raid mounts with a friend/friends? or it’s the same as you were solo?
  2. Is it an advantage to farm PL rules Raid mounts with a friend/friends? or it’s the same as you were solo?
  3. Raids follow Legacy loot rules up to cataclysm? or it’s always about the 11 level difference?

Thanks in advantage

Yes. I had one or two mounts traded to me by a friend.

Is it an advantage to farm PL rules Raid mounts with a friend/friends? or it’s the same as you were solo?

No. Drop chances are the same per person, with or without friends. Drop rate kind of increases but only per person and not overall.

Raids follow Legacy loot rules up to cataclysm? or it’s always about the 11 level difference?

It is 11 level difference. That means two expansions between it.

Couldn’t answer all but hope it helps.

I’ll add a few cents here:

  • Drop chances are personal and irrelevant of anything
  • The only reason of non-soloing for “legacy raids” can be a problematic mechanics/difficulty, here we can bring a kind of rule “Mythic raids (last) boss(es) from previous-expansion = non-soloable (typically)”

Well-know proofs regarding Legion raids:

  • Mythic Gul’dan (NH)
  • Mythic KJ (ToS)
  • Mythic Eonar and last two bosses (Antorus)
Literally, all & any from the “last bosses” on Mythic from raids of that expansion.

p.s. Speaking about more or less average ppls with ilvls inbetween like 385-415, not about nolifers 430++ (which probably can solo mentioned ones on some classes/specs but doubt that)…
