The devs in FF14 were also against making all the mounts fly. Their reasoning was that some mounts would look just silly flying but the playerbase just kept asking and in the end the developers were like “whatever it doesn’t really affect us all that much” and just made all the mounts fly. I think Blizzard could also go that route.

Wingless flying horses are the best for the “riders of the apocalypse/Valkyrie” vibe.

as a ff14 player i say make all mount able to fly and swim
Nothing beats looking up at the sky and see a whale flying by or a car “swimming” by you 
Im all for making everything fly!
I want my automa spider mount to be able to fly, just to terrify the living bejesus out of arachnophobes.

Would love if my Yak could fly
I think too many mounts can fly in all honesty. Sometimes you want to be able to just jump over something without gliding into the air.
Personal feeling I know.
I do have one ground mount and one flying mount keybound on my toons and rotate them around as per new ones arriving or just preference or getting bored of one
Edit I also obviously have my yak keybound
I’d happily take a non-flying duck any day!
