Mouse movement cutting out

As posted by other users, including on the US forums, after the recent update I’ve noticed occasionally holding down the right mouse click and moving my character will stop working. It just cuts out and until I click again, it doesn’t work.

I’ve never had this issue until the last reset, and like many other posters we’ve already done the steps that would usually fix these issues.

AKA: It’s a problem with the game.

I have the same problem, not a mouse problem because it worked fine for some time, then suddenly right mouse button OCCASIONALY started to cut off input.

Are you a smoker?

When I was, I had the issue that my mouse got full of ash. This was a frequent problem, but turning the mouse upside down and shaking it out worked for me.

Nice troll post. But if you’re serious, but I know you aren’t, I’m not a smoker. (lul)

I’ve only had it as last few days to be honest after the last restart. I see threads popping up here and again on the US forum about it and as usual, the replies are do the usual things to fix it - but they’re not working.

It seems to be a long running issue too if you do searches you can find people who have had the issue come and go for years out of no where.

If I recall I remember having it a few years back and it disappeared, so I don’t know.

Wasn’t trolling. I was serious, and it does work if you forget to frequently ash.

At the very least share what you already have done? All you’ve said is “Yo, my mouse ain’t working y’all, help”

Again, not trolling, but it could be low battery if you are on wireless. Or try a different USB port. Or don’t use wireless. I’m guessing, because you haven’t shared anything.

The best troubleshoot however, is straight up replace the mouse. Surely you have another or a friend you can borrow one from. If using a different mouse works fine, then I think we have found the problem.

Unfortunately it ain’t as easy as googling “mouse freeze fix”.

No, because then everyone would be experiencing it and they aren’t. A tiny minority is and any support anywhere wants you to rule out that it’s not on your end first. So do what you gotta do, then come back if nothing works.

Try each step periodically before moving on to the next to see if it works.

  1. Try playing with a different mouse

  2. Start with the game itself, wipe addons, settings and interface.

  3. Clean your mouse, clean your mousepad, clean your cabinet, clean your hardware, clean your software, clean your registry, remove/stop unnecessary apps in foreground and background.

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the game

  5. Reinstall Windows and only install antivirus + wow

Not true. Simply not true. Different updates can affect different versions of software which would create a situation where some experience this and others do not because not everyone uses the same set up, so hence not everyone would be affected by a particular issue ---- especially with games—. No that does not indicate a problem on the user end.

As is and was the case for players with slow loading screens and more recently handing in quests that created a stutter/lag.

For anyone to let ash build up around their gaming set up I simply don’t have any other words, except something that might be considered insulting relating to your hygiene. To me, that either is trolling or really awful hygiene.

Secondly, your paraphrasing does not even loosely describe the issue I am experiencing and only leads me to conclude that you’re the usual “support” poster who loves to antagonise a little and berate those. A typical troll, disguised.

My original post made clear I did not suspect it was an issue with my mouse, hence of course I have not provided any additional details. I will definitely hold off from doing any changes other than the simple changes I did do which had no effect. I am merely expressing that I too, alongside others, after the recent reset am having issues with mouse movement cutting out only in WoW.

In any case I wouldn’t want to converse with someone who sounds like they’re on steroids while providing “advice”.

So for anyone else, ANYONE ELSE who wishes to give their two cents or are experiencing this issue after the last reset, perhaps give a head’s up.

Until then I’ll wait it out and see if anything official is posted. If it is on my end (and the mass of other users… surely we must all have something in common with our set ups that must definitely be the issue…)

Stop being rude, no one on this section is here to troll, everyone just wants to help out.

But if your attitude is to refuse help, not even bother troubleshooting, instantly claim the issue is not on your end and expect blue post to tell you any different? I mean, come on.

What is wrong with your attitude? This is the support forum, players and CM’s helping each other out. I wanted to help, as does everyone here. We share experiences and fix solutions.

It really helps if someone is willing to assist with the diagnostics so the issue can be isolated and a solution can be applied. Why do refuse?

No one, not even CM’s can assist you if you don’t share information on your issue and attempt to troubleshoot.

Unreal… CM’s, good luck with this kid.

Nezarah… I told you, I don’t suspect the issue to be on my end. That’s what the intention of my original post was about. You’re not reading at all.

It wasn’t so much about getting support for the issue, because the -issue- does not appear to be on my end. I posted merely to indicate as well as other users I’m experiencing this same issue after a reset of the game. After all, if many users are experiencing the same issue after a reset it may make it more likely to be an issue with that reset. I mean, logic.

Again, it points towards an issue with the weekly reset since that’s when others are also having an issue but it may not be. It doesn’t matter because either way the original intent was to air that another person -me- is also having the issue right after others recently so perhaps they can investigate the issue further.

Also for others that may have the issue to provide their input to the thread!

But you belligerently keep responding with unhelpful comments, peppered over as “support” trying to enforce your view it has to be the USER problem, even suggesting smoking ashes on the mouse (LOL). You’ve completely ignored what I said about your comment being wrong and instead changed it into “don’t be so rude”. Give me a break, lmao.

Again you subtly troll by calling me a “kid”… And bad parapharasing and misrepresenting what I was saying in an earlier post. Oh, and being over zealous. How else am I meant to take you, only as a troll. A poor one at that.

I’ve muted you now. Damn you sure derailed the thread, that’s for sure.

You might want to check your mouse right click by changing the setting temp. to test the key on paint and draw straight lines, if you notice it cuts out with that specific right click - it’s a mouse issue. Just to make sure, that’s what I did with mine to make sure it isn’t the mouse.

All right… be right back, gotta clean my cabinet. According to Nezarah above, dust just might be magically flying of off it and causing my mouse to only cut off in WoW. I’m baffled, but you never know, being over zealous might be the solution.

I am experiencing the same issue, I have tried 2 different mice, closed all apps and just open wow as admin, changed all settings and reinstalled the game twice. Nothing is working, could you please let me know if you found a solution?
