Mouse scrollwheel sensitivity gone 11.1.5

The mouse scrollwheel sensitivity has been lowered so much since the last patch of WOW Retail (11.1.5) that it has become unplayable for me.
I am a healer in Arena and use mousewheel up + mousehweel down to target my party members.
Before the launch of this patch I only had to scroll 1 click up with my mousewheel and the game would immediately sense the input and respond by activating the allocated keybind.
As of now I have to scroll exactly 10(!) clicks up for WOW to recognize the input. Because of the high paced games in Arena, i basically can not use this function anymore.
You can also feel it when you are scrolling through wow menus which have scrollbars (for instance the settings list/graphics list etc).

I am on a supported Mac system, but have triple tested it on 3 other Mac systems as well (with different OS and/or configurations). Besides that I also disabled my addons to ensure thats not the problem. Also I have tested multiple mouses, so I am 100% sure this is an issue caused by the patch. All other mousewheel sensitivity/activity on my Mac is normal, it only happens in wow.

While it may come across as a small problem. It actually has made the game unplayable for me. I hope we will see this bug getting fixed soon.

Thank you so much in advance Blizzard.
And keep up the nice work!

I am having the same issue. I hope they fix this soon because its too hard to target in arena now. Let me know if you find a workaround in the meantime that doesn’t require us to rewire our whole brain

I am having this issue as well. I am on M series Mac with G502 mouse.

The only workaround I have found so far is using Mos. This little app allows adjust few mouse related things on MacOS. Smooth scrolling from Mos seems to mitigate WoW’s scrolling sensitivity. I also lowered scrolling steps and acceleration to minimum.

It still feels sluggish. However now at least, one scrolling step responds the way you would expect. Previously I used Mos to disable smooth scrolling for WoW because it reduces scrolling precision.

I am confirming that using Mos works. All I had to do though was set the Speed bar to maximum (Scrolling acceleration to 10). It woks just fine on my mac. I hope whatever they did in this patch is reverted though. I have to use third party apps for the game to be playable.

Thanks for the workaround for now. Lets hope WOW repairs this bug.
I reported it through the game itself, maybe others can do this as well!

Having the same issue on on my M2 Mac. Scrolling in the UI is first too insensitive and then it scrolls too far.

It’s very noticeable when scrolling through transmog appearances or the spellbook. You have to scroll like 10 times before anything happens and then it jumps 3-5 pages at once. I can’t get it to scroll one page at a time no matter what I do.

Please revert back to how it used to work in 11.1.0.

Hi everybody, i have the same issue.
I’ve just tried with a win pc and there isn’t any problem with scrollwheel.
So i can confirm that the problem is only for mac users.
It’s hard to play when 1step scrolling is your habit.
Please fix the bug soon.
Thanks

To my fellow Mac users who are experiencing this issue (I had the same problem with a Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed), here’s what worked for me:

In SteerMouse (plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/), go to the “Wheel” section, and for both “Roll Up” and “Roll Down”, increase the sensitivity to +1.

I hope this helps someone : )

The issue still seems to exist in this week’s built as well.

Still not fixed by Blizzard. Everybody keep reporting in game. We need this because there are so few Mac players compared to PC. Thanks

since they dropped the patch 11.5 , mouse wheel sens. still not working correctly on macbooks! le.dot

Guess i am an odd one since i’m playing on windows.
But my mouse doesn’t scroll either anymore since a few weeks.
tried adjusting my mouse on the pc, but everywhere else it was still working normaly.
2 rows of textmessages after dozens of turning on my mousewheel. or small adjustments when camera scrolling in or out.
it’s really annoying since i sometimes want to see things up close, and other moments i need a good area view. it takes minutes to switch that camera view and i don’t always get that time in raids or M+ dungeons.
