Move the portal room to Silvermoon

It makes no sense that on horde side currently the portal room had to be fitted in a hole in the orgrimmar walls. Move it somewhere it makes sense. Like for example Silvermoon where all the magical elves are living. It could also help to turn Silvermoon into the major horde hub. Please blizzard consider this when you next update the cities.

Where you can’t fly. Don’t think most people will be happy with that

I think that should happen once silvermoon gets updated and not be stuck in 2007 :stuck_out_tongue:

Why should Silvermoon be the main horde hub? The new horde was established in Durotar and first settled in Orgrimmar. It makes no sense to move their operations into Silvermoon.

This makes about as much sense as making the Exodar the alliance major hub.

do you really want it in a no-fly zone ?
*its literally impossible to allow flight there, as eversong woods, ghostlands and draenei regions are the only regions that werent revamped in cataclysm.

That’s the aesthetic of the main horde race, the Orcs.

It has always been Human design for Alliance and Orc design for Horde. Even when it comes to Garrisons. Which is why Alliance got a castle and horde got a Hut.

I would rather see Silvermoon being visited because of its beauty, and not because there is a portal room there. People will just use the portals to leave :man_shrugging:

I cannot believe I am actually agreeing with this. If convenience had not become a norm for this long, I wish Orgrimmar had more zeppelins in the redesign with only portals to Dalaran and Silvermoon.

I am of the opinion all capitals should be viable equal hubs. Sadly this is not the case in World of Warcraft and we are all funnelled into Orgrimmar and Stormwind.

The second most used cities are probably Thunderbluff and Ironforge. Darnassus and Silvermoon are probably the least used for obvious reasons.

True

I do like to visit Silvermoon on my Belf characters. The only problem is that you only see Blood elves there.

90% leveling Belfs
8% capped blood elves
1% leveling forsaken
1% other

How do you propose to do that ?
It’s players choice where they hang out . Force them with all sorts of npc’s ?

Hell no! I can’t stand Silvermoon’s bright colors.

Silvermoon isn’t looking very secure after Undercity.

It’s also one of my least favourite capitals, because of the way it’s designed.

If anything it would be better if all the blood elves joined the nightborne in Suramar. Now that would be a lovely city to visit.

I am baffled by this comment. Making all cities equal would give players the choice where to use as their main hub.

No one is forcing anyone to go anywhere. Blizzard make it so only Org/SW offers all services.

I used to have my AH character in Silvermoon but I found it very much the same as you, mostly just the odd levellers passing through, it’s a very beautiful but mostly abandoned city :frowning:

Well it kind of does, Orgrimmar is in all but name the Horde Capital, same as Stormwind for Alliance.

Yes, Silvermoon would be a more -logical- choice, given that it is one of the big three magical cities in the world (Along with Suramar and Dalaran), but we all know Blizz are too lazy to update the zones from TBC. I mean you can’t even fly there, despite quests showing that you can, the amusing irony is the excuse that they are on the Outlands map not the Vanilla one, so Blizzard cannot enable flying.
Err, Really Blizz? So they’re on the same map as the expansion where you first enabled flying, but you can’t fly in those few Outland map areas that actually -are- on the same planet?

Yeeeeah, Sure, and I’ve got this neat bridge to sell you…

Ironically, at least on AD, Silvermoon is already the joint main hub for Horde, even though it lacks stuff like a barbers, or Transmogrifiers (Amazing how Transmogrifiers are happy to set up shop riding a huge dinosaur that is rather famously ‘Spooked’, yet won’t open an emporium in a city that is built out of -Magic-.

But no, I don’t see a problem with Portals as they are, it isn’t a massive imposition to portal to Org, then Portal to Silvermoon, it adds, what, a few seconds transit time?

Suramar wouldn’t work, as the Nightborne don’t actually get Suramar as a home, they get a tiny square garden with no buildings.

Questing in Suramar is surreal as a Nightborne by the way. “An illusion, what are you hiding?” “Err, nothing mate, I look like I live here, because like, I do?”

As long as you can get to the racial capitals relatively swiftly, I don’t think this is an issue.

Revamping the TBC Capitals is however, but we all know Blizz won’t do that.

It’s a bit different on RP realms, where it is mostly capped Blood Elves and Capped Nightborne, with Visitors from the Kalimdor Horde(Also usually capped), but I suspect that is because it is an RP realm, so naturally Elves want to RP in an Elven city. It actually works pretty neat, it makes ‘outsiders’ whilst not unwelcome, a good conversation starter “So, we don’t see many Tauren in Silvermoon, you looking for someone or something in particular? I may be able to help, or just visiting? Say, what is the news from Kalimdor these days?”

Meh, just whack Ban’dinoriel up again and they’re gucci. Admittedly it would take effort from Mages, rather than being automatically constantly up like it was, but it’s not like Silvermoon is short of Mages.

I think the Sin’dorei would be too proud, Silvermoon is part city, part shrine to all that they lost, besides, as I mention, the Nightborne don’t actually ‘get’ Suramar, just a tiny instance box smaller than the Void Elf zone, Now if they gave Silvermoon the Suramar treatment, that would be amazing, but as we know, that ain’t gonna happen.

Have you seen the size of what the Horde can access in Suramar? It is about the same size as the Orgrimmar Portal hub room!

Lovely ideas, but as long as Silvermoon remains trapped in the Expansion That Time Forgot it just ain’t gonna happen.

merely first step, it is of course necessary to go beyond just portal room and make a fully functioning Suramar city
They can at least make a Boralus out of it, with 1 small area covering all QoL necessities and big city around it just to give right ambience
