Multiboxing and gaming echo system

I present to you .

ESO : Multiboxing is NOT allowed in The Elder Scrolls Online in any of its forms, whether software- or hardware-based. Any accounts found to be multiboxing will be considered in violation of our Terms of Service and actioned swiftly and decisively, up to the permanent deactivation of the account along with any other associated accounts. To be clear, players are welcome to have multiple accounts. However, using hardware or software to play them all at the same time is not allowed on any ESO service.

Multiboxing is the practice of playing multiple accounts simultaneously, including, but not limited to using either hardware or software to facilitate the coordination between the accounts. This violates the intended nature of the gameplay mechanics we’ve created for ESO.

Key words : Violates the nature and gameplay mechanics for ESO.

So explain to me how WoW multiboxing is intended in the nature and gameplay mechanics of WoW? Like when you see a herb spawn or ore vein. Are you saying Blizz that it was designed so one player can pick or mine it multiple times ? That doesn’t violate the nature and gameplay mechanics of WoW ?

Players are shouting it’s all about the money it’s all that they care about. I would love to hear you guys ( Blizz) explain to us apart from financial benefits to you. How do you see Multi-boxing as a positive thing in WoW , it’s economy , etc.

You talk about how you care about the player’s game experience. Alot of angry mobs of players are sick at tired of this problem.

It is a real problem , fueled by the wow token. I love the WoW token don’t get me wrong but it’s a doubled edged sword. It was meant with good intentions to help those with less income to pay for a sub doing so with in game gold. To prevent people buying gold on gold selling websites. Sadly players have twisted this positive move into ruining the economy , gameplay experiences for many others.

You can’t say it isn’t a problem As you’ve already nerfed multiboxing several times in the past. You nerfed them entering battlegrounds and arenas. Why ? Because it was a huge advantage. Well making gold and farming up materials like a Fish processing ship. Sucking up every fish in the ocean and leaving nothing behind. It’s an advantage over 2 dudes in a fishing boat. Same thing applies 1 player vs an army of multi-boxers.

Spend 10 mins Naj’atar and tell me how many multiboxing groups you can see it’s rediculous. I am seeing them in Outland , Northrend , Pandaria everywhere.

I would just like to hear blizz’s perspective on Why this doesn’t " violates" the nature of the game.

I think you need to concentrate more on the following fragment:

This violates the intended nature of the gameplay mechanics we’ve created for ESO

I think that would be the best way to sum up why ESO does not permit multiboxing.

It seems that the intended nature of the gamplay mechanics that they created for ESO require a clear distinction between multiple characters all controlled by a single person and multiple characters each controlled by single person.

I haven’t played ESO much, graphics are nice, but I just couldn’t get into it, there was something about it that put me off, I think it was something to do with bag space or something similar and the need to play monthly fee to keep the bag space, I can’t remember exactly, seems like a nice game though.

Anyway, I too would be curious to hear more news from blizzard regarding multiboxing, because I like multiboxing a lot and think it’s very interesting.

Perhaps the intended nature and gameplay mechanics created for world of warcraft do not explicitly require each character to be under the control of aseparate person. However, I think that there are most certainly elements of the intended nature of the gameplay mechanics that require multiple characters to be there and offer an advantage to groups over solo players.

I think that if you truly want to eradicate multiboxing as many on these forums seem to want, then you need to look at the causes not the symptoms. It’s not wowtokens, it’s not gold, it’s the very heart of the game, which favours groups of solo players, that is what you must change. Good luck with that!

Instead I would advise that you concentrate your efforts towards regulation and moderation. It’s quite clear that there are things that people can do that are not good, so concentrate on dealing with that, rather than focusing on the means by which they do it.

Seeking to ban multiboxing seems a bit like trying to ban the auction house or banning character to character trading in order to eradicate real money trading of gold, it’s just so over the top, cracking a walnut with a sledge hammer, it doesn’t address the real problems that have caused people to seek to acquire gold through real money trading.
