Multiboxing, and the community

Planning on trying out multiboxing when classic gets released, so I made another four accounts in addition to my original one so they are ready to be active subscription accounts when classic hits. I wanted to learn some basics of multiboxing first, so I used these accounts to create one Warlock on each account to start figuring out how everything works, and work my way up from there.

I’m currently level 12, and oh my god every player goes up to me telling me they will report me, but first record me.

Either I thought multiboxing is still allowed, or there are a lot of ignorant, clueless pricks out there

Should I be worried in the end?

Heya, fellow multiboxer here.

Multiboxing is still perfectly allowed. You’ll get used to the whispers after a while. It’s a daily occurence.

The forums here aren’t really your best bet for help on the subject if you need any. I can highly recommend the communities at dual-boxing.com or ISBoxer.com and their discord (these are ISBoxer specific naturally).

See ya out there and welcome to the party!

They were saying that to me since tbc… I wouldn’t worry

Nah don’t be worried, they have been here for a long time.

A lot of this comes from old ideas, that is having a hard time loosing it’s grip on people
((once upon a time addons were illigal too, and I was horrified when I learned more and more people used them  ))

Since the announcement of Classic I have come across a bit people setting up multi boxing chars (Last person was setting up shammies) - I think you’ll be happy to see that you might find more likeminded people to play with/exchange experinces with

And with the reporting/recording thing, doesn’t everyone do that these day?
I came across one who has a page where he puts people on - I emoted him the wrong way :expressionless:

It’s allowed and better than boosters.

Only thing to worry about is other players starting to recognize you (If we will have communities in classic).
If you were being a prick on your realm it would become harder to find groups for dungeons etc.
Being a multiboxer already gives you a disadvantage to begin with towards other people.
Try to be the friendly multiboxer and you’ll be fine :grinning:

The proper solution is of course to add more characters! Make other people redundant! or team up wit other boxers.

But ye finding groups that facilitate a boxer can be challenging. This is how it should be though since it is plausibly asking something “extra” from them. If they want to give you a go, cool. If they don’t want to deal with it, that is their call to make.

its perfectly allowed by blizzard but I do hope everyone that sees you reports you and then blizzard might eventually come to accept that multitrash are hated by the vast majority of players and will ban it.
fingers crossed, eh

A lot of people mistake multiboxing for botting. There is regular confusion on the forums about it. I imagine many multi boxers are reported but that is for Blizzard to deal with.

Politely direct them to visit Venezuela

It’s the second. Staring, insults and threatening to report your “bots” are to be expected, you eventually just learn to ignore it :man_shrugging:

They know very well it’s ok, they just stupid

Most people on my realm used to hate a specific Shaman/druid multiboxer during Wotlk.
For the Horde side it became a pain to take Wintergrasp.
Sudden burst of 10 starfalls on your siege engine train and it was impossible to get close to the walls.
I have no issue with multiboxers as long as there is no major impact on the gameplay of other people.

Keep doing it mate.
Multiboxing is hilarious even as a victim. 5 Chaos Bolts simultaniously is fun to witness.

Technically botting, but hey clever use of game mechanics and all those things…

No, botting is when no human interaction is required. A bot programme does everything for you.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s usually streams of posts on this topic mindlessly repeating how multiboxing is allowed and yes, it’s allowed as it’s all paid for accounts. Dress it up however you like, it’s still cheating by any definition of the word. It’s a shame more thought didn’t go into applying some ethics to the T&Cs really.

you all seem to think that people who hate multitrash are confused about whether its botting or not … and that’s the justification you have for anyone who disagrees with you, as is atypical of this current generation.
Most of us don’t think its botting, we think its cheating and scummy and should be banned and that the only reason blizzard wont change the TOS (if they need to) to ban these trash is because it brings in money … which is a direct betrayal of a large portion of the player base. “Pay us lots and we will let you cheat” is the view of a large portion of the gaming community, the ones that hate multitrash.
Its not about whether its botting or not, its about them being dishonest cheating trash that make the game more unpleasant, unfair and financially unrewarding for a large portion of players.

Now, queue up your “omg its not botting omg like omg youre all pricks (quoting the op) omg lol omg and like omg lol omg its not botting youre so stupid omg lol like omg its not botting omg lol omg” responses and redirect attention away from the fact a lot of people hate multitrash for very valid reasons and believe that blizzard allow it because its financially tasty

I hate multiboxers but it is indeed allowed. In my opinion it’s no formal way to play the game but if you have the money to maintain 5 subscriptions you do you.
