Since we are going back in time, i wanted to ask, will Blizzard make it Illegal to be multiboxing?
I remember it was at the beginning of WoW back in 2005, so this is why i am asking.

I know multiboxing was not allowed originally, partly because I do not think Blizzard put much effort into investigating it, and back then it may have involved much more automation.
Nowadays, Blizzard allows multiboxing, provided you manually control the other accounts. Using software to automate their gameplay or mirror inputs would violate the rules and could result in bans.
So it should be fine. Just make sure you are not using botting or automation software on the other accounts.
Well, i didnt make the post because i wanted to use it, the pc i own today cant handle that lol.
I just remember how it was back then and what those multiboxers could do and today they will do their own raids etc., tho this is kinda sad, then there wont be so much “social” in the game that Blizzards wants.
Dont forget, they will steamroll over you in World PvP with their 5 “bots”, just like they did back then.
The last part of your second paragraph does not really make sense. If someone wants to multibox, why do they necessarily need to socialize with other players? You cannot force people to be social. If someone wants to pay for five subscriptions and run a full group by themselves, that is their choice.
Blizzard has said they want Forever to provide a social MMO experience, but that does not mean everyone has to socialize constantly. Some people simply want to play at their own pace without dealing with other players.
As for multiboxing, remember that each account has to be manually controlled. You cannot use software to mirror actions between characters. So if you see five Boomkins all casting Wrath simultaneously, that could be evidence of automation. Record it, report it, and let Blizzard investigate.
There will obviously be people who try to abuse the system, but hopefully Blizzard actually takes action against them. That said, I would not worry too much about multiboxers. They are likely to be insignificant compared with the bot problem we will probably see, with automated characters farming materials and spamming players with gold-selling websites.
There are bigger things to worry about.
Multiboxing itself is permitted, providing no software or hardware solutions are used to replicate commands. So essentially each action on each account requires it’s own keyboard press (or equivalent).
100% be using multiple accounts to summon myself everywhere ![]()
So since it is, could i startup two clients on my pc if i start another account?
Or do i need two computers for this? Like say, if i just wanted a extra character with me on follow and it only did that and sometimes i could cast a heal with it when i alt tab between them?
Could it be done, does the Battlenet launcher supports this?
So long as you have more than one account attached to your bnet login with active subs, yes.
I often level two characters together.
Hello, thanks for reply.
How do you run that, do you start Battlenet one time and then tab out and start it again or find the client exe and start that after?
Click [play] with X account on the bnet launcher, game opens with that account logged in.
Tab back to launcher, choose Y account from the drop down menu, press [play] again and the game will launch with that account logged in too.
Thank you, they really made it easy. Good to know, this way i can support Blizzard with their WoWF More.

With modern computers you can run several instances on one PC, in the old days multiple PCs were needed.
You can run up to eight licences on one bnet.
The thing you can’t do is press one key on your keyboard and all the open clients respond. It has to be one press to do one action per account. So essentially you’d be tabbing between each open client then doing an action, then tab to the next.
No tabbing needed. Just one large window with however many smaller ones underneath.
Use two copies of WoW so the 2nd one can have bare minimum graphic settings. Launch from inside the folders - not the launcher
You are kind of arguing semantics. People can tab between but you can click with your mouse too yes. Whatever method you choose it still has to be one action per account.
