Murlocs, as annoying as they are, can be found on every continent of Azeroth whether it’s cold north or deep in the ocean. They are somewhat intelligent creatures, some of their settlements can be seen on some shores. They are also very territorial, tend to attack in groups for just one single adventurer, even if the said adventurer means no harm to any of them.
Shadowlands is described as afterlife in Warcraft universe. Every kind of decased creature from all across the planets reside there for a while. Deers, big cats, butterflies or even critters, (assuming) their souls are also residing in the lands of Shadowlands.
Now that even wild animals can be found on the Shadowlands, yet we don’t get to see a single murloc in this afterlife.
This lead me to question the existence of murlocs. I have three different theories;
1 → Murlocs don’t have a soul.
If they had souls, we would get to see them in the Shadowlands. Even it’s a lakeside or any puddle, murlocs would occupy there. It’s the first place we should look and I have checked every water source of Shadowlands to see a murloc but couldn’t find any.
2 → Murlocs don’t actually die.
Again, if all decased goes to Shadowlands, murlocs would go there too, unless there is another Shadowlands just for murlocs. But as stated before, wild animals don’t go their own Shadowlands, instead they get to reside the one we get to see.
3 → Murlocs don’t exist.
This may be the closest theory to the fact. We think we are killing murlocs in the Azeroth but are we really ? Again, we would see them in the Shadowlands but we don’t. Instead, we get to see all other creatures except for murlocs. I came to conclusion that murlocs may not be real.
