Let me start off by saying I’m not one of the best MW monks in the world so I know I still have ways to improve.
What I’m noticing during our N’zoth progression is that no matter what I do I get outhealed by the two Paladin’s in our group (we have 4 healers) and I basically fight for the 3rd/4th spot with the Resto druid.
Now I’ve heard one of them say he got lucky Ineffable Truth procs and that’s when he got like 150-160K HPS after a fight of 6~ minutes. I was sitting at 90k on the 3rd spot and the majority of the fight I felt like I had nothing to do besides the 2nd Psychus phase where I am one of the two healers in the group going down.
Is there anything I can actually do against this or is Holy Paladin just ridiculously overpowered healingwise? In the moments I have barely anything to heal I revert to DPSing but I sometimes just feel useless except for the few heavy hitting moments where I actually feel I have to do something healingwise.
MW is not very strong right now, bottom healer statistics wise and pallies are on top.
However this much difference between your 2 hpals and your other healers shows to me more like it is also skill difference. Your top hpal simply plays better compared to the other one by a large margin. You are not far behind the second hpal. Your druid being so low on the metres im pretty sure has gameplay issues. Without logs ofc it is difficult to tell anything. It could be a mix of things and sure hpals are better healers but a lot depends on the players themselves who play the class.
Our first kill looked like me on top with around 150k as resto druid and our hpriest, resto shaman, hpal all around 100k for example.
People could give better advice with some logs linked.
In a lot of tries we’re closer together, like 5-15k difference with him sitting around 110-120k and the rest around 90-110k HPS but when he gets his lucky procs he jumps to 150k HPS and only the other 3 healers are close to one another.
Basically when he gets the lucky procs, there’s nothing really worth putting a Vivify or other abilities out besides Rushing Jade Wind / Renewing Mist / Chi Burst while dpsing adds(or boss) or when one of the heavy hitter abilities come in where using other abilities are useful.
I’m not sure in which way I can get higher HPS / improve when a Holy Paladin can nab a good portion of the healing by having some corruption proc for him at the right moments…
But it definitely feels disheartening when I look at the logs and see myself putting out more casts, doing about the same amount of attacks(DPS) during the fight and still lose out because of a RNG chance proc.
Which is somewhat a similar situation as in my group, 50k HPS difference compared to the other healers, but in your case it’s probably not based on lucky procs. The Paladin in my group has 40% haste unbuffed and 5x Ineffable Truth which tops up people faster than I could, even if we’re both equally skilled.
It’s impossible to do a great amount more healing if everybody is between 95-100% health without wasting mana and the heals you do consisting of 90%~ overhealing.
During some other progression fights I outhealed him when he wasn’t fully optimized yet, I also outhealed him on Carapace of N’zoth while he already had his optimized gear, but during N’zoth there’s moments where he jumps ahead by quite a margin.
Thats interesting. And yeah as resto druid i dont rely on any procs i just simply consistently heal more.
50k hps difference is huge though. Im not sure i can just write it all off as luck. Your other paladin would then also sometimes pop off. They could get good vision/ineffable truth procs.
Not gonna lie, pallies are very strong right now followed up by resto druids and disc in throughput. Monks are on the low side. I do not want to say that thats the only reason though without looking at some logs as i said. If you are both playing similarly well then a hpal would just win though yeah. Sad but its the truth right now.
Paladins and priests should have the heal on damage ability removed from the game to bring back our class identity and also buff our way of the crane instead of nerfing it
