I want to give some Feedback about unused talents, because blizzard declared to look over unused/ forgotten talents and builds. Feel free to comment below and give suggestions!
For me: I love the Monk, but I can see some wasted potential here and I hope the Dev. Team will change some things in the spec tree.
My First 5 Talents i worked threw
- Calming coalescence:
Each time Soothing Mist heals, the absorb amount of your next Life Cocoon is increased by 3%, stacking up to 50 times.
My Opinion: why make it tick with soothing mist: it feels very weird to play with soothing mist and play for a rather bad cooldown like Life cocoon.

Problem A: this Works only with Soothing Mist so it excludes all melee builds

Problem B: Life Cocoon is a mediocre cooldown and got 2 Minutes Cooldown
- Solution A.1: Make it stack up with Soothing Mist AND Renewing Mist (healing over time ticks) so both playstyles can utilise this talent. Caster build will use it a bit better, but it can be used as melee
- Solution A.2: Make it reduce the Cooldown of Life cocoon in some way: a Flat amount or per Soothing Mist AND Renewing Mist ticks. you can decide to save up more stacks for a bigger shield and get rewarded to get stacks.
- Solution B: Rather than make it a bigger shield, which seems like a waste of shield because it doesn’t get used: maybe make it stack so you can get a free use of life cocoon or let it shield 2 or more targets at the same time when you reach XX stacks.
- Zen Pulse:
Trigger a Zen Pulse around an ally. Deals (137.816% of Spell power) damage to all enemies within 0 yds of the target. The ally is healed for (138.6% of Spell power) per enemy damaged. (30 s cooldown)

Problem A: The Healing and Damage feels way too low for 30s Cooldown: in 5 Enemies it heals for 50k single target. A Tank got like 300k HP Minimum so I can heal myself for a 1/4 hp or a tank for 1/6.

Problem B: This spell is very conditional compared to other low cooldowns like Druids swiftment or Cenarion Spellward

Problem C: This spell is useless in Single target situations
the extra talent 1: Echoing Reverbration:
** Zen Pulse triggers a second time at 80% effectiveness if cast on targets with both Renewing Mist and Enveloping Mist.
- Problem B again: this makes the spell stronger but more conditional!
- the extra talent 2: Accumulating Mist: Zen Pulse’s damage and healing is increased by 25% each time Soothing Mist heals, up to 6 times. When your Soothing Mist channel ends, this effect is canceled.
- Problem B again: this makes the spell stronger but more conditional!
- Problem D : This feels very clunky to play with
- Solution A: Buff the numbers
- Solution B: New Talent Choice (melee): Make it Pulse all 2 Seconds for 10 Seconds which heals the tank every time for the enemies nearby. This could make it a real tank-heal spell in AOE situations the spell should shine there!
- Solution C: New Talent Choice (range): lets make it apply Renewing mist and enveloping mist so it’s a good choice even in non AOE situations. Its balanced around this 30 s Cooldown and we got a nice “oh crap” button
- Mending Proliferation:
Each time Enveloping Mist heals, its healing bonus has a 50% chance to spread to an injured ally within 0 yds.
Opinion: what is this talent for? I don’t get why also the heal bonus spreads.
- Problem A: Enveloping Mist is a very short Buff and when this spreads it will spread with the current duration of the Buff. So most time the target get a healing buff like 1,2,3,4 seconds.
- Solution A: when it spreads lets spread it atleast with full duration so you can at least get some value out of it.
- Solution B: Let it spread as Enveloping Mist Hot not as the Buff. So the reduced duration (Problem A) by the spreads seems okayish. This would feel awesome because you can spread hots like crazy.
Bonedust Brew:
Hurl a brew created from the bones of your enemies at the ground, coating all targets struck for 10 sec. Your abilities have a 50% chance to affect the target a second time at 40% effectiveness as Shadow damage or healing. Gust of Mists heals targets with your Bonedust Brew active for an additional (42% of Attack power)
Talent Choices: Attenuation:
Bonedust Brew’s Shadow damage or healing is increased by 20.0%, and when Bonedust Brew deals Shadow damage or healing, its cooldown is reduced by 0.5 sec.
- Problem: This Talent is caped on 3-5 seconds Cooldown reduction! this is very awful.
- Solution A: uncap it
- Solution B: let this talent: “ Bonedust Brew get now prolonged by the Rising Mist talent” so your rising sun Kicks can prolong it.
Summon Jade Serpent Statue:
Summons a Jade Serpent Statue at the target location. When you channel Soothing Mist, the statue will also begin to channel Soothing Mist on your target, healing for (220% of Spell power) over 8 sec.
- Opinion & Problem this Statue is not viable for Melee Builds and feels clunky for all Builds
- Solution A: Make it a Cooldown like the other statues and massively increase the Healing
- Solution B: Make it cast longer like 20-30 seconds so we get a proper tank-healing tool out of it
- Addition Solution A + B: Make it synergize with all Smoothing Mist talents so you can build combos with it!
