My "Cold Steel, Hot Blood" doing low dmg [Help]

Hi

I have 2 traits of “Cold Steel, Hot Blood”

Today i was raiding on doing Vexouna boss, and had another warrior in raid with me, we are about the same level, the only different is he had 3 traits Cold Steel, Hot Blood

but what im shocked about is that his Gushing Wounds DMG is more than double my Gushing Wounds dmg

im kinda confused, dose a 3rd trait make it do much much dmg ?

dose echoing void has anything to do with this ?

i have 30 crit. 19 haste. 28 mastery in case you wondering

how about post as your warrior and post your logs.

You need to maximize amount of bloodthirst and skip a lot of raging blow. If you using current top dps build. If you have 3 traits and autoattacks do more damage then dot you mistake in rotation. Good luck

Whenever I’m reviewing Fury logs, one of the most common mistakes I see is not pressing Bloodthirst enough. It should (almost) always be pressed every 3rd global with 2 or more CSHB. Doing this incorrectly will greatly affect your Gushing Wound damage, and I suspect this could be the case here.

Can you elaborate more, please? Do you mean we need to press it when it is up?

Yes, it is used on cooldown. As the guide quite accurately states.

I found out that it does half as much dmg with only 2 traits, quite terrible without 3 stacked traits

thanks everyone

That can’t be right.

I just tested it with individual pieces equipped and it scales linearly for each piece.

Are you sure he didn’t just have a Gushing Wounds corruption effect on? My damage meter can’t tell the two apart so they get lumped together, making it look like the trait is doing twice as much damage as it should be.

hmm, that’s interesting, than that could be the case

im kinda surprised that damage meter could count both as one and not individually

Easiest way to find out is by looking not at the total damage each of your gushing wounds has done, but at the individual ticks. His did more? Well something’s up, but the damage difference between traits is linear.

My personal theory? You’re doing something wrong.

First of all you want to have 3 traits, it’s highly recommended. Then the reason why your gushing wound might not be doing as much is probably your rotation priority. Rampage has priority over everything else but with 3x cold steel, hot blood, your bloodthirst becomes your second highest priority, even over raging blow.

Your crit doesn’t seem to be problem, although I play my Fury warrior with 35% crit (36 with food buff), so maybe get a couple of percentages more won’t hurt.

More importantly the major essence you want to have is Blood of the Enemy Rank 3, it is by far the best working essence for the Fury crit build, and if you don’t play with that then it’s probably the reason your gushing wound isn’t cranking up on the dps meter
