i am a zandalari druid i use my flight form allways and i think dracthyr should be able to fly like the NPCs, they can put 2 sec cast time, its just cosmetic for fun
Dracthyr NPC can fly, and in cinematic we flew from dragon islands to stormwind/ogrimmar xD

Yes, it’s probably for some sort of Mechanical reason like that.
It’s better to not give the players something, than to need to take it away later on because it will make the boss fight better.

The zandalari should have the same ability as Dracthyr but instead of flying themself they fly on a pterrordax.

there are no air currents on baseland azeroth, only in dragon isles lol so wouldnt rly explain that.
also i find it unlikely its lore reasons to why we cant, i think its more likely to do with the fact it’d offer bots and farmers the ability to instant level 60 and use it in the same way druids do.
If blizzard could add thermal soaring areas depending on the weather in the location and allow the Dracthyr in essence fly for longer periods of time. Like gliders do in real life that what be fun.
Why are you being pedantic for the sake of it. I know you’re intelligent, because I’ve seen a few of your posts over the years, and you definitely seemed level headed.
Would it harm having them have a racial to just fly. Like Worgens can sprint on all 4’s as a racial.
The normal flying for Dracthyr is even in the game files. Animations and everything. So it’s not like it’s an effort to just implement it.

They were given a massive blessing from one of the dragon aspects, they didn’t fly that far on their on. How can you quote a cutscene you clearly watched so poorly

Yes please. Reliance on traditional mounts doesn’t fit dracthyr. They are in need of a travel mode similar to druids, one where they can hover with ground mount speed along the ground, and fly with flying mount speed in accordance with what the zone allows. The animations are already there so it shouldn’t be too difficult to implement.

I agree. Something just looks off when you see a dracthyr riding another dragon or some other flying mount.

Ofcourse not. I often ask myself why something is what it is. Why can’t they actually fly? What is the logic behind that specific choice? What could have lead to this decision? I try to get a peek in the developers mind so to say.

The race and class bound to it feels so uncreative and wasted. Soar on a 4 min cd is just the cherry on the cake of mediocrity.

Can someone help me understand why this racial is a big deal? From my standpoint we are getting dragonriding soon (which 100 times better than soar) and I’m very confident that somewhere down the line we will be getting it in all zones aswell.
