My dragonflight review (returning player)

I wanted to share my experience with returning to dragonflight after quitting in wod.

I used to be a raider, guildofficer and was able to clear stuff back in tbc, wotlk and cataclysm. I had less time in mop and didn’t get to enjoy in much, and in wod I quited before hitting max level. The game was getting weird with the base that you had to build, and npc’s that you could send on a quest.

Some time before dragonflight I leveled a bit in shadowlands in anticipation for that expansion. A lot of youtubers were praising what was about to come, so I though I would give it a shot.

Dragonflight didn’t disappoint. The leveling zones were good. The story there was okay. The renown thing was tedious, felt like a grind. The dungeons were okay, except very confusing. They are all speedrun crap. Like the tanks flies off and I have to chase him till I hit the boss. I feel like this m+ crap really made a toxic community because it is designed for speedrunning. Why not design them for challenge, tune the bosses like raids are tuned and make people think how to overcome the challenge. I fear I will have the same confusing experience in tww…

Professions were really crappy, I like how there is an redesign, but they felt like they cost gold instead potention of making gold. Crafting orders were implented very badly, and it felt like most of the stuff you made was not going to sell on the ah, but was going straight to the vendor.

The raids were fine this time, I did them on lfr difficulty wich was fine for me.

What I didn’t like was all that crap in my bags … like the keys and the seeds and the mettle and god knows what else. It confused the crap out of me. Why are the tooltips so bad in this game. And then there were quest items, but I didn’t know from wich quest. Was it from this expansion or not. Could I delete it or not.

Leveling alts was not fun at all. Feels like quest rewards, dungeons drops, gear from ah was all the same generic stuff. They didn’t add power to my character at all, in fact it was so random, one moment I could 1-2 shot mobs, the other moment they 1-2 shotted me. Its so broken …

all that crap in my bags …

This has been a bug-bear of mine for some time.
Crafting materials don’t need ranks, it only adds irritation rather than anything positive.
Items that need other items to combine into something else are also more irksome than engaging.
On top of the sheer number of materials these days, gone are the days of 1 type of leather, 1 type of ore and 1 type of herb per patch.

Unless they’re going to give us a huge Reagents Bank with a spearate tab per expansion then this is an area of the game that needs simplifying.
