Hey guys,
so i leveled in Hardcore from 1-11 in 5 hours. Wasnt a friendly experience for new player. hope i shine a light to problems we all facing.
1- Long queue…had to wait 60minutes in stitches server.
2- Freedom of speech kinda out of the window…got 3 warnings in 1 mintues from saying " why blizzard didnt bother to implement deathlog addon into the HC servers" after knowing about it.
3- i need addons like questie to know where to go. sadly forcing me to use 3rd party website/app like curseforge.
4- this Hardcore idea “from what i learnt” came from illegal servers where the experience force u to be in one guild from the start ! which is more socially fun! but here i felt lonely only general chat and i get warnings from just talking. so rarely, you find social aspect into the hardcore experience here.
5- i hope Blizzard consider increasing the mob killing experience ! as we love to hunt mobs and grind instead of wasting our time doing Quests made to waste time instead of bringing fun by going A to B and C then go back to A. grinding quests are the fun of each zone ! we need more of these ! we enjoy our companies and grouping and fun small talk we made while grinding and collecting things.
6- lastly, i wish there is a way to find guilds instead of asking in general chat and get warnings and risking ur account to be banned.

6) if you’re having trouble finding guilds without being reported etc I think this is a ‘you’ problem (taking 2 into consideration)
1- there is no way to know that from blizzard they give me 2 server choices and i chose randomly ! so how i know the other realm has no queue to not fall in that mistake in the future?
3- i will be in disadvantage if i did that. your solution is bad as other players dont even do that and not efficient as them.
5- so why not implementing that into here?retail has not HC experience from what i read
6- instead of criticizing me how about you put a solution on how to find a guild? i asked in general " LF HC guild for new player" no one cared in 3 zones.
Now see - when I logged into stitches (or tried) and it said 1 hour queue I changed realm……I didn’t need blizzard to tell me this; just used common sense.
Why are you disadvantaged? It’s not a race. We all gotta learn new games time to time.
The guild thing in patience - there are new guilds coming daily; just look for their adverts (especially in town/trade chat).
Actually they don’t - or not in the starting area I’m in. The area is quite big and there’s not even a hint in some of the quests as to where to go. Sadly I last started there more than 15 years ago and have no memory of the quests or where they take place.
So how did we all manage 19 years ago? I certainly didn’t have any addons until LK back in 2008/9 so managed to get through wow and tbc without any helper (other than asking people in game if I couldn’t work it out for myself).
Thottbot (spelling?) and something like Alakazaam.
Explore the whole zone if you can’t find where to go. Or consult wowhead if really stuck. But most quests have a hint of where you should go. I really enjoy when I find it myself.
I do recall people talking about thotbott yeah - but they also said it was full of viruses so I was scared to go there……
my husband played in classic times…and he’s telling me thottbot was the website all players use for questing and find rare items. it was like wow youtube. anyhow, i played without questing for 3 lvls till my husband downloaded the questie addon ! and trust me when i say …wow without questie addon is not worth it. this addon is a MUST before u start playing the game.
In retail we don’t need it because quest zones are automatically marked. I recommend playing either Retail or Classic (for an authentic xp) for your first player experience.
my main game is poe and i love hardcore experience but i will consider it as this game super easy but confusing for new player. wish they made it clear on what you need to download or know first before u play the game. there are addons that show your aggro/dps/bars of bosses/dungeons and all are necessary for this game ! sadly i need to use 3rd party website to use them. kinda sad that i have to look for these addon in order to keep up with people in dungeons/questing.
I never used Questie before another player with whom we played regularly in a group asked me to install it to see when I have collected all the quest items. And now I will not use it until asked to use it.
I play WOW for the story, to explore the world, learn about the NPCs. Questie takes it away from me.
stiches server is offline now ! i will make new character in the other server ! it seems i picked the wrong one ! …again thats confusing to know as a new player or where to check if this server has no queue/offline without falling into it and lose time. RIP my lvl 11 priest.
It is not. It is just too full atm. It was showing as offline to me few times. Keep trying and at some point you should be able to join the queue which is around 1200 with around 60 min wait.
Its not really susposed to be.
WoW hardcore is susposed to be a challange primarily pointed at experienced players
Who exactly does iron man on their first run of the game?
I disagree though that it’s needed - managed for 4 years without it back in vanilla and tbc (and first 6 months off LK too tbh). Don’t get me wrong, I use it now all the time but that’s because I got lazy in my elder years.
they do it pretty good. i dont read them anymore but i have installed VoiceOver and so i listen to them and they explain what to do pretty good.
