Or actually dealt with by irl law enforcement, no? This is not the first time this topic cropped up and people seem to only push for the GMs and Blizzards staff.
People have realistic expectations of IRL Law Enforcement, I guess.
Depending on where the victim or the person harassing might live, this can be difficult to get progress with. Especially since some countries donât like working together in matter of law enforcement.
Itâs still a good thing to do obviously, especially when it turns really serious. But people are pushing for GMs and Blizzard to take action because it is first and foremost their responsibility to act. Itâs happening under their rules, on their platforms.

As Vixi also mentioned, cyber crime is a maze to navigate and international laws and how they are handled are not there yet alas.
Without going into too much detail, I can certainly empathize with your situation.
One thing you can try to do that might help is to make good use of the character restoration feature: When you delete a character, that character is also immediately removed from the friend-lists of all other players, meaning if you delete your character and then instantly restored it, they would have to re-add your character before they can see you online.
Of course, the stalker can just re-add you to their friend list, but you could make that a lot more difficult for them if you were to change your characterâs name using the Name Change feature after doing the restoration.
A new TRP profile / new transmog / changes in character appearance would probably also be necessary so that you arenât accidentally re-discovered. They could also follow your known affiliates / friends / guild members to find you, so you might have to spend time around a new social circle for a while.
As such, the best option really might be to cancel your current account for the time being. Start a new one, spend some time on a trial or something else while your stalker moves on to something else. You might feel like this would equate to âgiving upâ or letting the stalker âwinâ, but really the only way they win is if they get the satisfaction and pleasure of harassing you further - that is their win condition. You disappearing is their biggest loss, so if you want to make them lose, make yourself disappear.
After a few months you might even be able to return to your main / previous account. Still this would take some willpower to go through with since youâd still need to create new characters with different names and appearances while also keeping away from your current friend-circle during your time on your new account. I know that might not be easy but itâs the only working solution Iâve seen.
As for contacting IRL law enforcement, there are very serious real-life cases of stalking that see little to no intervention from the police. Iâm sure thatâs different on a contry-to-country basis around Europe, but expecting this to get resolved by going that route might prove fruitless. I donât mean to discourage it, but I canât really present it as what I would consider a realistic solution, either.
I hope you find a way out of this, all the best.
Dropping all your collectables isnât really a solution though. Spamming twitter and tagging devs / WoW EU Customer Support with all the evidence ect is really the only way, maybe a reddit post.
If you will annoy them enough, they will just ban you instead.
It also occurs to me that this stalkerâs probably reading the thread. Might not be best to share strategies here?
Nope.
I wish we could get some names so we know who to avoid.
Not sure though i dont get the whole Screeenshot excuse when they could investigate chat logs, but that would take way to much time per ticket most likely so they avoid doing so.
Sadly there isnt much to do. I know that sounds silly but realistically all they can do is hardware and ip ban at most which can easily be spoofed by anyone wanting to spent a little time looking into how.
Either way im sorry this is happening to you and other people that are getting harrased by an insane individual, have been stalked myself (not in RP but irl and in raiding environment) it is stressful and really ruins a lot for you.
its pretty much impossible to stop the person from doing it, i wish blizzard put more effort into their customer support and investigation department but sadly that is money that they sadly dont want to spent.
Itâs not even that evil, the fact of the matter is that most reports are handled by the automatic system. Theyâll check the reported personâs chat for toxicity reports and/or gameplay/key presses for cheating/botting reports. Obviously if someone follows you around without saying messed up stuff thereâs no chat logs to punish them for.
REAL GMs reading tickets is so rare and when they do theyâre probably told not to act on any pictures/videos since those can be very easily doctored.
I really think the only thing to do here is kick up enough of a fuss on Twitter/Reddit/Forums until they actually send a real person to deal with it or risk looking bad.
Sorry for being a curious craig, but what initiated the stalking? How did you get in contact?
To make a long story short: she wanted an OOC relationship, I didnât want that nor felt comfortable about the topic. I RPâd with one of her friends. She didnât like that and started to tell her friend a bunch of stuff. Resulting in me and this friend stopping to RP and then the stalking began. I can of course provide conversations regarding this and all that.
Sadly Francie regarding your ticket blizzard takes a lot of time them they took over a month to respond to mine , some people still didnât have answer yet from 26 April between Cata and pandaland remix probs will take some time.
I heard they lay off most of cs team too but hope your problem get resolved soon may the naaru bless you always .
There was cs team?
Tbh at this point Iâm sure most are robots
I am certain there were robots before already X)
Blizzard generally takes umbrage at screenshots being used because in a lot of cases these have been doctored to make something appear to be happening when itâs not. They also donât strictly NEED them to be able to determine what another player has been saying or not, they literally have access to everything you can see on screen and what the other person can see on screen too.
The problem is I think as mentioned, this process is basically automated. Blizzardâs CM team is operating on a sliver of what it was even 5 years ago, and that was after the purge in BFA when they obviously saw profits on the decline.
Iâd put money on it being the same sicko.
Hot take but this is actually a very useful solution. Downsides aside (which are minimal in the long term), this actually allows players to meaningfully curate their gaming experience. Iâve been advocating this kind of tool being used for years.
Why should we have to deal with utter social detritus in a game we -pay- for on a monthly subscription? That we have to pay out for expansions on top of that.
The BAREST minimum that Blizzard should offer us is the means to control our environment and interaction with socially maladjusts who shouldnât even be allowed a PC let alone being allowed to interact with people with it.
As others have said the only really surefire way of getting a human response at Blizzard is by spamming the social media feeds. Donât hide names, donât sugarcoat it. Push it in their faces. Make a dedicated twitter account if youâre worried about reprisals from the stalker weirdo, others have done similar before for other pustules that sag from the community.
Itâs frankly unacceptable that someone should feel uncomfortable in a game designed for escapism, for fantasy and that you actively pay to enjoy.
Ten confirmed to me itâs the same one.
So a few days has gone by and this is the latest update.
The person still stalks me, no doubt. But I havenât seen her in about 4-5 days. 7 days ago I got a message from the GMâs.
This is the latest message from the GM and I am not sure how to react / how to do with it.
Firstly: this was my latest message to them:
So. The person is still stalking me and does so on multiple accounts. Now to avoid a generic answer I want to know the following:
How do I stop her from stalking me? She follows me around on various accounts and uses ingame toys to disturb my roleplay to the extent that I donât feel safe roleplaying and is actively avoiding it. Last incident was tonight where I did an ingame report as you have told me but she kept going. I can not put her on the ignore list since that still allows her to use said ingame toys to disturb my roleplay and herass me.
She has been doing this for months on the same accounts. I have over 500 screenshots where she uses said toys and such to disturb my roleplay but since I can not apparently use these as proof of her doing these things there seems to be no way for me to actually do anything to sort this situation. How can I actually make her stop since you do not seem to want to take actions towards her since sheâs been able to do this for all these months?
I was adviced to post on the forums about this behavior. Which I have done and nothing happens at all to her. Not even when I use the adviced report feature. All that happens is that you tell me that you canât tell me what you have done but seeing that she still use the same accounts, yes plural, to stalk and herass me it is clear that you have done nothing. So how do I actually make her stop stalking me so I can feel safe to roleplay with my friends?
Now, here is what Blizzard answered:
