- People never talk to me unless Im guildless and they want people in their new guild. Or if they are new to RP trying to find friends.
- I found really interesting the random RP groups i encountered in open world with their rp events.
- Most people make their char be like some kind of special snowflake, like the mc from most anime. They prefer focusing on character development instead of story development.
- Stereotypes everywhere. All elves are acting like nobles. Orcs are always honoured veteran warriors same as draenei but they are paladins.
- When in guild everyone hits on females.
- Goldshire is crazy place.
- Alliance side has more people and most times more expirienced.
- People say lots of lewd jokes lool.
- AH has weird prices.
Then you are hanging out in the wrong places. Please, please tell me it wasnât Cathedral Square in Stormwind?
Some of the best RP is the things you randomly encounter, and the RP that isnât planned, or an event, but that you just happen across, my own guild has recruited a fair few that way, people just seeing what we do and going âI want in on thatâ
Sometimes character development and story development coincide, although to be fair the first and only anime I watched was the original âGhost in the Shellâ more than 20 years back, so I donât know the current trends for protagonist characters.
Gawds, you must never have encountered the Sun Hawks then. Not a Noble amongst us, actually, no, we have one, he was assigned to us by a clerical error, Weâre soldiers, Air Cavalry, we fight hard, we play hard, most of us fight so hard we are almost PTSD raddled wrecks held together by Patriotism, Port, Cameraderie, and a solid belief that âSome day, the dark times will passâ. You do get your stereotypes, but the thing with stereotypes is that they exist for a reasonâŚTheyâre common behaviourâŚcommon enough to be lampooned.
Then you were definitely in the wrong kind of Guild. Most of the Guilds on AD I know of have a strict policy on that sort of shiz.
Ahh, Argent Dawnâs Goldshire. Itâs the sex tourism location for off realmers and trial accounts. Actual players on Argent Dawn shun the place, and are just grateful it exists as a âcontainment zoneâ for what otherwise could spill elsewhere. Every now and then a brave soul will head down there and report every person they see up to no good, but it gets soul draining, and what is the point, most of them are invitees from other realms, or trial accounts, so what is the point?
Alliance has more people, its about a 70/30 split Factionwise. More Experienced? Definitely not. Fair few amount of people jumped ship to Horde because of some of the childish antics that were a nightly occurrence in Stormwind. â/Yells Gunshot!â Bar Room Brawls every ten minutes. People trying to make Stormwind into some lawless South Central L.A setting, when that just isnât what it is at all? You can find excellent RP on Alliance side. You can find excellent RP on Horde side. Just thankfully we donât have Kid Muggers, random Gunmen, Worgen who hulk out and actually say âYou wouldnât like me when Iâm angryâ and Scarlet Crusaders wandering around.
On the whole, the Horde comes out ahead in terms of the experience, or lore friendly concepts.
You really did try it out on Alliance didnât you?
Oh yeah, the prices are crazy, but thatâs because to RPâers, transmogs are important, so that trash thing that is no use to someone, can fetch a pretty penny from someone who -needs- it for their perfect look, I was really lucky on Brigsy Boy here, as I got some items that are no longer available, and I got them when they were cheap. People will spend good coin for what to you might seem like cheap tat. The AH prices are always going to be âStyle over Substanceâ when it comes to items. Once you realise that, you can rake in the cash.
Thanks for clearing things out for me. Will consider everything you said. Though would you recommend me play on alliance side or horde side? I always play horde since i started playing wow.
That depends entirely on your race. Most characters IC donât like talking to forsaken. Especially DKâs. Horde has a problem of âkeeping to themselfâ. But if nobody approaches then I can only recommend donât be shy!
Hell yea.
So you are telling me âmost people make their char be like some special snowflakeâ but in the next sentence you tell me âstereotypes everywhereâ. So what is it?
You must be blind then or you are over exagerating. Because when I go to (even SW) I see plenty of different things. Mages, druids and all sorts of other IC classes. Everyone is unique IRL so why not be that ingame aswell? Canât be much else other than character development when youâre not in a guild. So I canât see the problem? Also again no. I have met elves who arenât nobles, orcs who werenât honoured and plenty of draenei shamans and others. Either you were incredible unlucky in the people you met or you are over exagerating, which I think you do.
Not everyone but there is a certain thing for that.
Donât go there.
I dunno. It has more people but more experienced depends on the person you meet.
Never heard one. Donât go to the cathedral square.
Yes. Because on AD you can sell something that looks great for RP that on other realms is completely useless. Itâs great.
