My Feral druid overhaul expectations in 8.2 or later

These are my ideas and some suggestions about current feral situation; and what should be done. Call me a dreamer will you ? hmm?

-Savage roar is completely ridiculous in current situation ; it shouldnt require combo points and energy both. only combo points!
–we should have sabertooh baseline
–Primal wrath should be baseline aoe finisher for ferals
–Trash and swipe should be 1 skill which stacks bleed up to 5 times (up to 5 combo) % 50 direct damage % 50 bleed.
-make survival instincts usable while cc’d
-Make incarnation baseline burst cd for ferals. rework berserk for better dps options.
-Ferals should have the highest energy in game according to wild god lore point. Therefore we need to have 200 energy baseline
-both dash and stampeding roar should remove roots baseline.(also tiger dash talent
-wild charge should be baseline as feral skill (feral spec spell, not talent) and both renewal and wild charge should be different mobility spells.(why is renewal even exist here on mobility tier??)
-give us feral version of mangle back (which increase our bleed damage buff)
-Mm hunters got hunter’s mark ;so we want our faerie fire(feral) back baseline(dont think it is squisible as talent in current design )
-Feral druids should have leader of the pack buff baseline.
-getting % 20 extra heal while we are in cat(like it used to be in tbc) would greatly help our survival
-we lost % 20 flat out burst damage when we lose artifacts. both berserk and incarnation version should have % 20 damage boost.
-Hardened roots(ashamane artifact trait) was a great edition to our pvp survival with artifact ; but its gone too. it would greatly help our toolkit again in arena and bg’s
-we lost % 15 armor penetration trait(open wounds) with bfa ; so we lost another big chunk of passive damage boost here.
-Shadowy trash was a great proc which helped our aoe ; but its uncessary with primal wrath; (i really really hope it P.wrath becomes baseline)
-Removal of Protector of ashamane was one of the biggest losses of our pvp gameplay since the bfa launch and global cd change issue.
-Adding global cd to all spells in bfa is ike a direct slap to all druids. at most ; ferals. According to this we should get at least % 30 flatout damage boost because we lost so many passive damage talents with the removal of artifacts

  • we need to have our tiger’s fury reset when we make a succesful interrupt.

i’ll now list the things that ferals lost with the removal of artifacts ;as damage and heal with bfa ; and why the damage is worse than legion;

–Shredder fangs % 15 shred damage gone
-tear the flesh % 24 rake damage gone
-sharpened claws % 28 brutal slash damage gone
-feral power % 20 crit rating to shred gone
-attuned to nature % 60 regrowth healing gone(which is HUGE lost for feral)
-razor fangs ; % 18 damage to rip gone.
-powerful bite % 28 damage to f. bite gone
-scent of blood was passive too, we had it all along legion so losing this made us more energy starved.
-thrashing claws % 20 thrash damage gone

You see dear devs? how much we lose? i know you made some bandaid damage buff hotfixes; let me tell you ; its not enough. Its barely playable. If one class doesnt attract new players; it means one thing , its unplayable, unrewarding. It doesnt even compansate the losses.Even in legion our dps and toolkit wasnt very well rounded. And we were along the most troubled dps specs even in legion, now we are bottom deep in bfa.I know you guys are busy designing new zones and stuff, but the spec really needs attention and fast hotfixes. If you think im inexperienced and overexaggarating ; find some good rated old ferals(if you can) or glads and ask them how can we make feral good again. If a class gets popular again, you get your lost customers in the roads. Thats my feedback as a very old feral druid player. Have a nice day.

I do really like some of the ideas to improving Feral, particularly baking Swipe/Thrash, increasing energy and bringing back class buffs like Leader of the Pack. The reintroduced buffs for some of the other classes is cool and makes them desired, yet we’re still missing obvious old ones like LotP and Mark of the Wild. I really don’t think it was okay that they neglected party/raid buffs for some while giving it to others.

Anyways, I really dont think it does you any favor to list “everything Feral lost” in just damage numbers. These kinda losses is something every class experienced. Besides, damage modifiers (like Razor Fangs) can easily be fixed with tuning - something Blizzard has neglected to do in BfA. All specs lost those “increases ability X damage by Y amount” but some came out better than others.
What’s actually important to look at from the artifact weapon is stuff like Open Wounds, Ashamane’s Energy, Feral Instinct and Protection of Ashamane.

First off just as you pointed out Open Wounds simply had Feral ignore 15% armor on targets. It’s quite ridiculous that this was needed but this is a huge loss that was always there in Legion with no counterpart in BfA.
Ashamane’s Energy was extremely useful since it pretty much solved any Energy related issues in the spec.
Feral Instinct is quite obvious in that it masked how terrible Berserk was as a CD. This made the CD actually a burst CD since it baseline already reduced resource cost but once you capped this one out you had damage on top of it. This is the only damage modifier that’s relevant to lose because it was tied to the CD and not a base ability. The same way they can tune Razor Fangs into the baseline Rip they could’ve buffed Berserk to just increase damage dealt for it’s duration.
Finally Protection of Ashamane gave us a great defensive option and I miss it dearly to this day.

From my PoV those kinda things should’ve simply been carried over into BfA and either baked in as passives and/or into the spell associated with them. As a Balance Druid I also heavily miss the Power of Goldrinn trait just because it gave so much flavor it’s insane, very similar to Protection of Ashamane. Ironically this could also improve the leveling experience if they were spread out as you leveled.
