My maps are un-explored since the pre-patch. All of them on all my characters. Are there plans to fix this? I still have flight paths and my Explorer-achievements but would very much like to see my map.
It keeps repeatedly happening and somewhat often. Almost like a Daily or Weekly reset. Can’t confirm whether it resets player experience gain from sub-zone rediscovery as well.
I use the map toy to get my maps to show everywhere. Might help in the mean time if yours keep resetting.
The map had reset again, I would guess it was WEDNESDAY. I remember using the map toy evening earlier. I’m starting to worry what kind of data reset might occur next (action bar reset never again please).
It would be a good idea but I have only one class at max level so it will take me a while before I get the toy. I’m hoping they will solve this, I have taken so much pride in discovering everything (nerdy) so I fell really sad about this

Same thing here, everything is unexplored, but I do have the flight points and achievements.
I had the same thing and managed to (kind of) “fix it” with the Warband Map thing, though it still left a couple of areas uncovered, some of which seem to be unrecoverable (can’t seem to uncover my Garrison anymore for example). Also the game still treats my character like they haven’t been anywhere and I get “YOU HAVE DISCOVERED X” popups everywhere which is mildly annoying.
I wish Blizzard would just fix their spaghetti code instead of coming up with lazy workarounds and ignoring the problem on the forum for months. Like, sure, in the grand scheme of things this isn’t that bad, but it kind of is. Anytime you’re resetting a player’s progress you’re undermining the concept of WoW as a living, permanent world.
Also, talking about spaghetti code, I can only post as some low level classic character here I barely played and all my retail characters aren’t selectable at all.
