Simple question, My AMD Phenom™ II X4 965 Processor did run BFA just fine, so could it run shadowlands ? Or is Shadowlands much more heavy in
content?
BFA min requirement is AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB.
For Shadowlands it’s AMD Radeon RX 560 2 GB.
As far as how well your card fares you’d have to ask someone else if you can’t figure it out yourself as it’s too late at night for me to be looking those stuff up.
I probably shouldn’t post past midnight, you can ignore this.
AMD Phenom II X4 965 is a CPU not a GPU. Chronormi. I have the same CPU powering my NAS.
However I am unsure if it ranks high enough to meet the minimum requirements, and it certaily doesn’t meet the recommended.
Overall compute requirement doesn’t seems to change in any noticeable way, but that’s tested on high/ultra settings. Engine changes are already available on the PrePatch PTR.
Yeah it’s late for me and he said graphics (or I might have just imagined that) so I listed GPU. Not really an AMD expert.
I’ll just stop talking and link the actual requirements.
My Cpu did not meet the minimum requirements for BFA eather, but i did run just great, even my GPU a gforce 770 was not a problem to run BFA smooth in medium settings. only in huge city’s with lots of players and npc activety like Boralus, i got some frame drops to 20-25, but in BFA open world and dungeons i have a solid framerate between 45-55, with AA on . I don’t see how Shadowlands is gonna be so far more gear depentent that they put up the min specs that high?
The requirements often have some buffer between what they list and what is really minimal requirement. It may also be done for non-lowest settings so that so people get pushed into more fidelity in the game.
Requirements for the new zones are definately higher on the beta servers.
My FPS are lower by about 10-20 on average i would say.
In some places even lower, where i can barely reach 80-90 FPS on aRyzen 3900x with a 2070S (no RT on).
I’m capped at 75Hz at 3440x1440 and it doesnt look as scary as bfa main city hubs on a weaker TR1920X.
Anyway I’ll be doing a full benchmark run for different hardware soon.
Thx for the replys,
I did a bit of reserch about specs on de webside “Game Debate” and some test in WoW .
Game Debate : my rig can run WoW cClassic but probably in low to medium settings, cpu to weak. My pc runs classic like a pro i get 100 fps and far over with the settings slide set to 10.
Game Debate : my rig can not run WoW BFA , to weak cpu and even the Gforce 770 is said as almost bare minimun. My pc runs BFA really good, better then i tought first. Yesterday i tested and it seems that my settings where higher then i tought and posted here. In most open world zones i got over 80fps settings slide is set to 8 and even on 10 i get well fps around 50-60. Only in Boralus i have a choppy 30-35 fps. Tests where done in BFA regular server and Shadowlands PTR server in BFA play zones.
No way my old pc could not run Shadow Lands, Maybe a bit less , but i can live with that. I try to test the ptr first it gone online but the game refuse to start up, thats why i tought my pc was to old. Now this week the ptr stress test was over before i read the post.
My to cents is that if your rig runs BFA good, it can run the new expasion also…
Comparison websites don’t have that much of actual data. They will just compare requirements to synthetic listing of hardware to see if it’s above or below it.
