My recent pug experience in M+

Dear Diary, today I was doing my keys and now I also can share how it felt to run with the pugs even in low keys mind you.
Example 1: Stonevault run on like level 4, we had decent start and were doing 1st boss, then we wiped and tank was giving meaningful advice to healer after we wiped. Healer’s response: “X left party”. After a single attempt and after tank was trying to help with advice.
Example 2: Half guild run half pugs in grim batol 4, were having decent time, our guild tank was blasting and we passed 1st boss easily, then made to 2nd boss, wiped just once (not big deal we had still lotsa time to time the key) and then pugs just started leaving left and right. Once again after single wipe.
And here I wanted to discuss what is wrong with some people who are just joining key to have some fun and time it and then as soon as something remotely goes wrong leaving even in very low keys. Or when someone tries to help with giving an advice and then their response is same, just leaving. This feels like people thinking they are of utmost importance in the key they don’t even own.
On other hand I can understand that people treasure their time and such, but still I would expect that people would call it and start complaining when the key actually seems to not be in time and not just after single hiccup at start or somewhere close.

But it seems to be just that pugs are like that in general nowadays regardless of key level and it just depends on who you get in group. Although I have encountered also people in my low keys who would stay for completion regardless of timer. Just wanted to share some outlier experiences with pugs I had in my keys recently.
Thanks for listening in

I’m suprised folks still do low M+ with the next patch being around the corner.

Still plenty of last minute players after the M+ mount, and they’ll need to gradually raise it since people won’t accept them in a +4 unless they’re a M+ 4K rating with a Wing Commander PvP title and own the Black Qiraji Battle Tank mount.

Even though I also got the KSM mount, but I just wanted to have some fun pushing my own key, it was higher level at start something like maybe even 8 but due to other unlucky situations and hiccups with pugs it got that low. And I personally run M+ more for these crests to have still some minor gear upgradability until the end of season

Here is your main problem. If you are still brave enough to enter that cesspit we call pugging scene. Expect the experience you already described.

That’s why now I leaning more towards running it with my guild at least partially, because yeah pugging may suck a lot as I already witnessed. And this applies pretty much to any content, be it dungeons, m+, raids or even something as trivial as tw or event stuff. Running all of this with guild or friends would solve most of the problems I have encountered with the community in any end game content.
But sometimes as you pointed out, I feel brave enough to try out pugging for funzies and see how far I could get there

Nobody wants any advise (meaningful or not and let’s face it probably wasn’t) from anyone in a PuG.
The community is not in a place where such discussions ever go well. We’re past that now and have been past it for well over a decade.

When it is about the fist boss of Stonevault, it only can be something about dispelling at the right time. Or the pull was just healer abuse by killing every pillar every round, which happens in low keys all the time. Often then someone wants to tell the healer they have to heal, not knowing they are themselves the problem.
By the response of the healer leaving it sounds like the 2nd case.

Oh sure. I also still want to satisfy my inner masochist and remember my good old days and do some puging as a dps. But tanking or healer wise its a complete off-limits. Entering a pug as a tank or healer its the same as wearing that Gaga meat outfit and entering a cage full of hungry lions.

General advice to the whole party about mechanics or tactics is fine. So long as it’s calm and clear.

Spefic advice aimed at a single player or role like Healer (which is only one player) not so much.

Yeah I remember, yeah he said that healer should dispel, thank you for helping my memory

One of the very bad mechanics in Stonevault :frowning:

No one can save you from your struggle but you. You’re playing at a difficulty level where lazy, arrogant, and clueless people are.

You want to play properly? Try going higher—around +10 is better.

It’s like stepping into a sewer and complaining that rats are eating you. Don’t go there stay above.

You want to learn and you want to progress? When Season 2 starts, I advise you to play early and try to push at least 8 keys on Day 1. If you can’t, go for 7, and every day, try to go higher and higher. This way, you’ll play with good players most of the time.

Do not stop, because they will leave you behind, and again, you’ll fall into a sewer with rats.

yeah I kinda slept through most of this season, so I started like in early-mid january with m+, and I understand your point. My main point was just to share what it could be on low levels of keys if you pug. I was doing it mainly for fun and gear upgrades along with weekly guild raid and also doing delves on side

Pugging always was and always will be a lottery. If you want at least semi competent teams, seek out communities (Guilds, Discords etc) for teaming up. You’ll still encounter some idiots, but it’s way better than pugs.
