My view on WoW (as a software engineer)

One could argue like that, but the base of the game has always been the same-ish with your your class, level up, accumulate power, kill bad boy, wait, level up further, accumulate power again, kill bad boy again.

I’m just saying I fon’d blame people for eventually quitting. I myself took a break from WoD to 8.1 - and it wasn’t because of the content / systems / whatever

People left for multitide of reasons. Starting with dislike to certain changes to real life changes. There is no magic button for Blizz to press to make “10 mil suddently drop from the sky”

Its still WoW. No matter how many times they “repaint it and refurbish it”. A car will still remain a car regardless on how many upgrades you pop in it. So people who are simply not intersted in a “car” in general wont suddently buy it because there is a “new audio system or what ever”.

Same with old WoW players. There are enough people out there who consider WoW a “closed chapter” in their lives and wont return no matter what Blizz does…

That also the barebones of D&D and that has been going on for decades.

If it works for Apple why can’t it work for Blizzard?

Oh please. You dont know what the sub number are. And WoW has not had a steady decline it has ups and downs. Bear in mind that was 10 years ago too.

No king lives forever… but WoW’s doing quite well after 16 years.

Apple’s a cult. Like Cult of the Dammed but more expensive.

Yeah and I love D&D! But would you constantly play it every day for 15 years?

answer this then

I don’t know why they are not playing classic. Maybe they were bored of the game over-all?

If I would have time and a dedicated GM? Heck yeah. Just how I used to play every day when I had a dedicated guild.

Tell me why so many people came back to classic wow that it more than doubled the sub numbers and its still going insanely well according to blizzard

Join me for some campaign then

would love to start one again! Haven’t played DND in a while!

I sense we are dealing with a silver bullet advocate here.

Wrong. Look at games like counter strike. still has a huge playerbase. and if we use your logic it should be dead by now

I have never played DND sadly. Not many people in my country who knows how to, and I just wasn’t motivated enough to find out how to play properly. Lore is a banger tho, took a dive into it recently.

What you are impling is a logical fallacy. We don’t expect people to play the game for 15 years, new players come, old players go.

sorry I ment “are now playing classic”

Different products. Mobile phones are used regardless if you are a home -worker or a traveling parent with 5 children oe what ever. A video game does not have that luxury. Since not all have the time to play video games anymore.

You can easily play it online with dndbeyond and roll20  people don’t have to be from your country

I tried roll20, but without knowing the fundamentals it was kinda futule. Should have looked up some youtube beginners guide ^^

want to give me your battlenet so we don’t derail the thread? I guess I can help you
