My WoW is 77GB! Can it be cut down?

Hia folks

I’m thinking of installing an SSD drive. I’ve just checked my WoW folder and it has 77GB of data in it! And I don’t even have Classic installed…

“Interface” and “screenshots” folders total ony 108MB. Is the rest really all WoW? Isn’t there any temporary folders/data/files that I can erase?

75-80GB is the normal size for shadowlands, and altering the installation by removing or editing files, I believe is against the terms of service.

… that’s a big game… and no, I don’t want to “edit files”. It’s just that quite often, in programs or OS (like windows itself…) to have “leftovers”, ie, temporary files or update packages that should have been deleted and are not.

There are no temporary files there and you need on average 512GB or bigger SSD to have WoW + Windows + few other things without killing the SSD performance. 1TB recommended.

And when playing WoW the game actually opens those big archive files and creates temporary files so it uses bit more than what’s installed.

Its actually… Not… Its an average game in modern AAA List game terms.

Well… it’s the biggest I have, then. I only play WoW, world of tanks and world of warships and those 2 are waaaaay smaller :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
