Hey, so a problem my guild encounters every raid tier the last couple of years is that we start of the tier having a blast clearing out HC raid which usually takes us a couple of weeks but even before last boss is dead everyone is kinda overgeared and HC becomes a faceroll. When this happens there is no more group content to push together and we settle in to wait for the next tier to release.
My proposition is to make Mythic raid more accessible to different raid sizes, I understand it is tuned for the world first race but that leaves a lot of players without any raiding for such a long period of time. Why not allow flex raiding for mythic after the top 100 guilds clear it out so more people can access difficult raid content. This would be a great compromise and give more people reasons to keep playing the game for longer waiting for the top 100 would almost give a second raid release which would be pretty cool. I believe a lot of good players don’t get to do mythic simple because they enjoy playing with their community and don’t want to break it up just to get that perfect 20man roster.

Raid size is not the problem; guild organization, leadership and member quality is. If the raid size was reduced from 20 to 10, that would just mean that guilds either now have to a) run two raid groups (that never works well, the perceived B-group always falls apart), b) bench up to 10 people and rotate every week (this also never works well, those who feel left out will look for another guild where they can be in the main team), and ultimately c) vast of majority of players are simply not good enough for Mythic raiding and they will keep failing to clear it despite endless raid nerfs and over gearing the content with heroic raid and m+ gear.
I think you are missing the point. Im sugesting flex raiding which means people wouldnt get left out if you are 16 ppl for example you wouldnt need to fill 4 more slots you could simple go as 16 ppl just how it works in HC and normal today, or if your roster is 22 people those extra 2 persons wouldnt ahve to be benched just to do mythic
Yeah, considering that Blizz is already agreeing to make mythic raiding easier with the weekly buff, it would be great to make the encounters also scale with raid size.
It doesn’t even need to be support down all the way to 2/2/6 groups, it would already be great if it would scale down a bit from 20 to 17 players in case some people are sick or have urgent RL priorities.
The roster boss is usually the most difficult one to beat. Not sure why Blizzard keeps mythic at a static 20… I do not buy into the whole balancing reason either. Sounds like bs considering how often and easily they push hotfixes during the rwf.
Honestly, they struggle with tuning the basic core components of the game as it is and you want them to start tuning mythic raids based on group numbers? Good one.
