Thatâs definitely not true.
Iâm having to work way harder than I ever did in LFR.
It could be true for the group versions of delves; I wouldnât know because Iâve never done those. And I still think delves would be better off without the group option.
Yes, I agree.
The ability to save up keys before the season started for instance was a mistake.
No, finally Blizzard stopped listening to high end players who think they have the right to dictate what other players should do and get. And good riddance too, honestly.
Group delves are easier, but the grouping option should remain. Delves were the missing piece of puzzle for content with progress for any group size between 1 and 30 by covering sizes 1 through 4 (with the exception still being 6 people I think? Minimum scaling in Normal raids assumes 7 players iirc, or has it changed?)
But even in a group, delves take quite some time, since I can definitely get 3 Heroisms in one run (so itâs definitely over 22 minutes). While Blizzard should work on bringing Delve difficulty closer together for any size of group or solo, it should not be done at the expense of groups having to spend even more time in there.
Maybe some prot paladin theorycrafter or world rank 1 sure. But your general protadinâŚwell our guildy healers always shiver when a protadin comes for m+.
Iâm going to be selfish here with my opinion. I donât care about how bad it is for groups.
I only care about the solo option and my reason is this:
Thereâs already 3 other endgame activities with different difficulties for groups.
Thereâs only 1 option for solo play.
I think solo is way faster as dps. I need way less time on a dps than on a tank to clear a delve. I have a mage alt, and it took me around 15-20 minutes to do a tier 8 delve as 570 ilvl as fire. I think something important to note is that in Delves you need to use your entire toolkit of your class, if you play solo, but you also get done faster, and itâs more rewarding. As said though, it should be integrated way better into the other PvE content, so Delves are not cannibalizing casual multiplayer content, but rather offer an alternative instead.
I would do this by shifting the rewards a bit, slowing down the progression, and also integrating it into other types of systems. For example think of Legion artifact weapons. What if a system like that is integrated into Delves? Brann could help you find ancient relicts for your class for example. Many possibilities to use Delves for various new content in the future.
It happened when M+ was introduced: It cannibalized the raider playerbase.
It happened when multiple raiding difficulties were introduced: Cannibalizing its own playerbase into smaller divisions.
Anyway; the best way to not cannibalize multiplayer content is to make it exclusively solo content. That will keep away the people who want play as a team.
Then the min maxers will figure out if such a system is better or not than what you can get in M+ or raids and if it is, theyâll consider delves âmandatoryâ.
You canât do anything without first fixing the playerbase.
Min maxing and meta gaming is a sickness that needs to be cured imo.
I mean with how minmaxers are using Delves for gearing anyway, why not make it mandatory to engage with at least once and introduce a 3rd power system tied to it outside of talents/gear? As said, Iâm bringing up Artifact again, because I feel like it fits really well thematically to what Delves are. It would also be cool, if they updated the Class Halls, and also made them relevant again as something evergreen tied to Delves, Artifacts, etc.
I agree, it sounds cool to me too.
But thereâs a part of the playerbase who would riot and yell: No borrowed power!
I donât think anyone should listen to that part of the playerbase personally, butâŚ
Donât worry, that part of the playerbase thinks the same about you. Borrowed power was so unhealthy for the game because of the endless grind tying into it, itâs also not very fun to lose the staple of your class come the end of the expansion so you have to re-learn the whole thing. Even though Legion was a banger, the AP grind (and depending who you ask, the legendaries) sucked most of the fun out of it, same with Azerite and anima.
But the class mechanics they implemented were very good for the most part, as evidenced by most of the old artifact traits/azerite powers and covenant spells being an integral part of modern talent trees. This also backs up my opinion that borrowed power is just the cheapest way to avoid having to rethink talents.
LFR is easier than a T8 delve, but thatâs not saying a lot. You have the option to afk in LFR and still get loot, in delves you have to play the game, itâs just they nerfed it so hard that T8 is a complete walkover even for low ilvl players.
M+/Raid difficulty for the same loot by comparison is in a different universe, delves are by far the easiest way to get high quality loot. And Iâm sure some players will say âOh no itâs hard I got killed bla blaâ but yeah you shouldnât be doing T8 to begin with, youâve skipped the entire progression process of delves straight to maximum reward for no challenge.
Question : If the problem is nobody is healing/tanking⌠how would a quew magically materialize more tanks/healers from thin air ?
It wont. So you will sit waiting just as long.
Your problem is that there is literally nobody doing 2+ at the moment.
You have only done 1 +2 with your hunter. I donât want to be rude or anything, but it looks like you have been hanging out on Delves since the 17th of September when the season began. And you got left behind.
I said it before on this forum, its super important to start early with this M+ thing because if you dont you get left behind while everyone else has has gone past 2+ and are farming 7s.
The alternative is to wait ~ 1 month or so when people start playing with their alts. And then entry level 2+ will start filling up with people.
So for next time, jump into M+ the first week it comes out. OR⌠wait for ~ 1 month to jump in.
Its not impossible to find people in the 2+ range. But it will be harder to do now than it was last week. So it will take extra effort.
And for the record : an M+ Quew will NOT materialize players on demand.
Who cares about your prot pala ? Raiding means NOTHING in M+ and nobody cares.
And a 604 tank is practically a naked tank. Take in mind that 2 weeks ago tanks were 610ish when it began and were getting MAULED by mobs.
Do you join discord ? Do you participate in the social aspect ? Or do you join a guild and instantly ask âhealer/tank for a 2+â and expect everyone to stop whatever they are doing and run to your group ⌠because âŚ
Small guilds are a community. They talk in discord and know eachother. They will not just help you, the new guy, just because. Help them first. Know them first.
And big guilds are a collection of small groups that talk with eachother and help eachother. Talk to them first, know them first.
So if you want guilds/communities to work for you, your gonna have to work too and be social/make friends.
