as we are approaching s2 i would love to drop a suggestion, due to the recent m+ leavers tanks/ healers after first death and the key paneity dropping your hard worked key by 1 can cause many hardships in the game ( lost time and toxicity ) i would love to see the key gone and the dngs changed to select the level based on the max completion as delvs are.
the same concept of M+ but you choose the level you want to enter on the door of the mythic dungeon and you cant join a higher tier till you complete the tier bellow it and this way if the group fails or there is a leaver you can still leave and reset on the same difficulty as we all know doing higher difficulty is not an easy job and if i proved i can do a +10 key just because the tank of the healer didn’t have the best day in his life and a mistake happens my key drops to +2 in the end and i have to spend the next 6 hours raising it, that is time wasted with no good reward and just total frustration which leads to cheery pick people and depend on their raider io score and rep which also takes more time than needed.
i hope the devs look into it as it would solve they broken key depletion and leaves problem <3 much love keep grinding.
it wont be a lockout more of if you did the level on time you get access to the higher tier if not it is what it is, also you get to get people on your same level who did the pervious level .
long story short down grading the key is not fun at all and can go south really fast my +11 key went to +2 in a series of unfortunate events and lost my keyboard in the end RIP keyboard.
Yes, the Delve system is much better and would remove a major downside of people leaving keys.
I don’t think Blizzard will do it though, since they want depletion to be part of the risk of running a key. There is also the potential for what they would consider degenerate gameplay, where a group just resets the same dungeon 10 times in a row until they have a perfect run. Personally I don’t see the problem with this.
Blizzard has on multiple occasions said they compare 1 M+ run to a raid boss, but at the same time you don’t get punished for wiping on a raid boss. Imagine the uproar if you had to re-clear the previous raid boss after 5 wipes, which is roughly comparable to the current M+ system when you deplete a key and have to build it back up again.
keys can go wrong but due to people watching high end players they leave after the fist death, and my key going from +10 to +2 is not a joke it actually happened we are 3 dps and always pugging healers and tank and trust me don’t inv druid resto or holy to any group XD they fail to heal the first boss always.
again i am not here to be competitive i am a father who just wants to join with my BC friends and have fun doing keys without the stress of loosing all the progress to +10 an i know you would say its just a +10 but 3 hours to my schedule is a lot of time.
I meant that without a loot-lock system in place, people will just farm Ara Kara and Grim Batol while ignoring the rest (replace those two dungeons with two new ones in S2).
What dungeon was it?
They’re more than fine currently. Ofc some bad players may play it but that’s nothing unique to Resto Druid. Quite some first bosses rely quite a bit on the DPS doing their thing, including handling the affix though.
Like how you just straight out confess that damage dealers are only tourists in an M+ and the only players doing any real, meaningful action are the tanks and the healers.
I guess you just have hope that they are merciful to you.
What you are asking is a very elaborate way to remove depletes.
And here is my take on the matter.
Usually, I would say no to removing depletes. Because there are good reasons to have keys deplete.
However. If Blizzard insists in making M+ season so hard, with multiple “walls” of difficulty, then the idea of removing depletes becomes more and more appealing.
One interesting compromise is to give keys charges. That way you have more than 1 attempt. And I am very much a supporter of this idea.
I am NOT kidding when I say that should one of your friends roll healer or tank, your sucess rate will increase by a lot. And if you manage to go tank, healer, 1 DD premade its night and day. Because a well coordinated tank/healer can carry a lot of weight. If 1 DD is also coordinated with them, your success rate will multiply by a lot.
Think what need to happen is you have to get punised in some way for just leaveing like what happens in a BG. And i think it should stack on a weekly rotation 2 hours for first time and then just +2 hour more for each time and if you cant complete the dungeon you give it up as a group so there should be a GG option so no one gets punished. Or some kind of reputaion system so you can see how many times people leave a key and when you complete one even if its over time rep should still go up
I wont be held hostage in a key. If 4/5 people want to complete a key for whatever reason and want to spend 2h wiping… its not what I signed up for.
Either way, NOBODY will leave the key if its going smooth. Leavers only happen when things go south.
So you can either remove the annoying and lethal things from keys (stupid spell quew changes they did)… OR… By removing depletes / giving charges if something like that happens you simply look for another person.
But punishing ? What for ? So I cant leave the key if things are going really south. And as a result my only option is to waste everyone’s time by just AFKing in the entrance while I watch youtube videos.
very easy to negate the held hostage scenario by just letting people leave the key after timer is depleted without risk of getting punished as there is no benefice from finishing the key (unless blizzard changes)
Also some would think that now maybe lets say tank or healer or DD will afk instead of leave and leave after timer there needs to be a report system in place that ACTUALLY does anything to counter bad types of behaviour. Could also add and use Votekick as you have in LFG but then u also have to remove so a 4 man cant votekick the random ( people will abuse it for griefing) also if u get kicked/banned you will progressively get longer and longer debuffs stopping you from playing the game.
Update: Also i feel like blizzard messed up when they squished the levels in keys aswell as non meta players gets stuck on +13 cause they are not “good” enough to get invited to +14 and if they want to do their own keys they are stuck with the rest of the player base where unfortunately a very high percentage have been lifted to a position they really cant handle.
They should have added atleast a couple more key levels between 11/12/13 jumps since people easily today 2 chest +11 and gets carried through +12 and +13
