Mythic lockout confusion

So I’m not much of a raider but I’d like to do the first 3 bosses of BFD. I killed the first one a couple days ago but now I can’t join groups for the second…? Everytime I try to it says I’m already locked to an id…

HALP

Mythic works differently from the other difficulties. You get lock to a raid ID which resets every Wednesday. You can only play with people that are locked to the same ID.

This means you can’t join people that are locked to a different ID, but you can get people without one to join yours and continue where you left off.

Yeah I joined a group that was doing the 2nd boss so everyone would be on the same ID? I still couldn’t enter the instance because it said the ID was not the same but everyone had only killed the first boss…

Thats because your ID and theres are different.

You killed boss with lockout ID 1
They killed it with lockout ID2

So you either make a group with people that have no lockout, then they will get your lockout ID1 or you rejoin with the people you killed the boss with originally.

Id is not connected with progress, its more of a group tag so to speak.

Mythic locks you to the group you first did it with. You can’t then hop to another group; you do it with the first group or don’t.
If you can’t play with that group again, you need to build your own, operating on your lockout, and the only people who can join will be those with no lockout. Obviously those people won’t really want to start one boss in, so that won’t be happening, especially since it’s a group building from nothing.
So, Mythic really is you do it with that first group, all the way through, or you don’t do it.
