Mythic+ Loot

Im going insane.

I’ve ran Mists now around 13 times (purely +7 for hero loot and min. effort). I have yet to SEE the unbound changeling. Never has anyone in my group gotten it and i cant anymore. I cant be expected to run a dungeon 20+ times to recieve the 1 item i want.

Make it possible to exchange loot from dungeons. If i get mace and i want soemthing else, i can change or something. But im going schizo running the same dungeon over and over again. I dont need anythihng else, i dont want to do any other dungeon. i want my unbound changeling. thats it, preferably now

I’ve done it closer to 40 times and not seen it drop. Not for me, not for anyone else in the groups.

xDDDDD

You have respectable determination. I will pray for ur good fortune

I must have been really lucky. I didn’t think it was so rare. I got that and then first week I got the ara kara trink on myth track

“I wanted this staff, I wanted it bad. I farmed for it for over 3 months. I ran Scholomance over 200 times. 5 times a day, for over 3 months.”

I find your lack of determination disturbing.

There are other trinkets in game.

It always has been terrible to get specifics. The best is not to try. You are also fine with an ara-kara trinket or the gale from grim batol for example. There are even some (B-tier) trinkets from delves. Don’t burn yourself out on specifics.

Gotta get those in the vault though unless you wanna be stuck with champ track.

Trinkets are usually not about ilvl. More about the effect. Farmable trinkets in M+ are hero track. We speak about 7 ilvl.

M+ was never designed to actually drop useful loot. Its purpose is to be a scalable, infinite time-wasting imitation of content to bait players into mindlessly farming and staying subscribed while providing maybe one upgrade per week from the chest, if you get lucky.

For me a Skardyns grace at 619 outsims any other 632 trinket. You’re right that ilvl doesnt always matter but when certain trinkets are so powerful you are talking about 20-30k dps increases, going for worse ones really just isnt that much of an option…
Ofcourse if you dont have another choice but to me that just shows that maybe trinkets having that much impact means they should either not be gated behind rng, or equalled out so all trinkets do the same. The former would be ideal, the latter means trinkets would become boring.

I am not disagreeing with that, of course.
Also the previous season had bullions for (raid) trinkets. I thought that was awesome. For M+ dungeons it was harder to get specifics. Maybe somewhere in the future we can get some options for that. Relying on a trinket in the vault is souldestroying.

I rather have boring trinkets than what we have now, entire book works of texts leading to a dozen different kinds of “explosion” here, “buff” there, “affects party members here”, “unknown what the actual … it does” there…, “if you don’t create a WA that shouts at you right before the buff runs off you’ll be stunned for 4 secs” there, “you know what, let’s just REDUCE your stats instead” there. Sometimes with a primary stat, sometimes not, sometimes it basically has an uptime of 100%, sometimes it doesn’t proc at all…

Honestly, it’s like someone gave a bunch of interns a job; create some trinkets. We don’t care what it is, as long as nobody can immediately figure out how good they are.

And they did a fine good job at that.

Id love to see something similar but just for trinkets. I have no issue with it being gated behind lets say a trinket of your choice every 2 weeks or whatever people would prefer, because at least youd be guaranteed to get them.

Luckily my bis is Skardyns grace, which says “get mastery, get big pewpew”

A good old stat stick, bless those:).

If you get a 639 skardyn grace we are talking at max 14k dps increase on ST and AoE compared to what you have now according to sims.

But even if it was 40k increase, lets put it into perspective:

Pretrinket you do 1.22M dps.
Post trinket you do 1.26M dps.

You would barely notice the difference on the damage meter and that is hardly “having no other option”

Of course in the grand scheme of maximizing yout character you wanna go for what give you the best output, but don’t get caught in the " i have no other option" trap.

Fair enough, one person wouldnt make the difference thats true. Now multiply that by 10+ dps in a raid and suddenly bosses die quite a bit faster.
It can easily make the difference between a wipe and a kill.

I just really hate the “dont get hung up on trinkets” argument. We are trying our best to get the best gear we can and being screwed over by rngesus time after time after time sucks the fun out of playing the game and genuinely drives players away from it.
Maybe you dont care, but most others do and when we just keep seeing it not drop(not even just for us, for anyone) that means something is inherently wrong with either the mode of acquisition or the quality of the trinkets.

Funnily enough though, i wouldnt run it in m+ this week even if i had it because the affix desyncs it from my cooldowns and makes it lose all its value

140k dps (your simmed ST increase multiplied by 10) would not make boss die “a lot faster”.

You would barely notice the difference, and thats considering people maximizing their spec dps output.

Is not that i dont care, is that this supposed “must have” trinket most of the time do not give the supposed insane gain people think they do, especially to the average joe.

That does not mean “take a tier Z trinket it does not matter”. But there are ton of other option that give slightly worse performance but that you may stumble upon while playing that do not make you run GB 50 times to get.

In reality in a large group it isn’t that black and white that the whole group have or don’t have either. There will be some ‘changelings’ hanging around.
