What is everyone’s opinion on M+, impact on raiding, the change to 20 for max gear etc?
For me I feel like I am in the same trap as I was in shadowlands, actually it’s far worse. I have to push myself to try and get 20’s done or atleast 18’s in pugs to keep up with my guild. This requires often 15-30 keys a week minimum to cope with a pushing mythic guild that’s only 2 days.
Personally I feel trapped with Mythic + being the content I AM FORCED TO RUN or I can’t raid in a competitive guild. It’s actually so bad now that if you don’t have 2400, don’t even bother applying for a guild that has 3 mythic down (in most cases).
Can’t we downscale ilvl to be more accessible for all, and make more unique, targeted functions? most cases I am forced to take ilvl out of vault so that I can use the catalyst to change gear. (I feel punished for being ok at raiding, but not the best at M+ when I raid… )
Impact is not that high. Mythic raiders should be able to take down bosses without max vault reward. The wfr is done so no reason to sweat the content that hard. Forcing players to do m+ isn’t necessary
Also the problem does not only exist for raiders. M+ only folks can’t access insane bis items from raids as well.
Solution would be to open up the raid items to be upgradable with valor later in the season.
The impact kinda is that high, between vault rewards having the ability to drop tier prior to catalyst and an unlimited supply of concentrated focuses from 16+ keys. I’m not wearing a single item I looted from a mythic raid. Gearing from mythic raiding prior to farm just isn’t really a thing besides trinkets, which you mentioned.
And the race concerned how many people? 100 tops. We’re not talking about RWF. We’re talking about people raiding mythic in general, guilds who are 7/8, 4/8, 6/8, whatever. People who raid 8-12 hours a week and expect to get CE before the tier is over.
Gearing for progression from mythic raiding hasn’t been realistic for years at this point. The vast majority of your gear, until you have most or the entire raid on farm, comes from non raid sources.
This exact thing is what im feeling. There is no more gearing from raids, its gearing to raid. Somehow the dynamic shifted.
I dont want to feel forced into content which dragonflight was supposed to fix, and somehow made equally bad or even worse since now the gap is larger between gear ilvls.
Could be, not claiming to be the most skilled out there. got some ok logs, and cleared 5 mythic, so definitely not the best out there.
But thats sidelining the actual question, which was related to forced content in order to get ilvl to do the activity we want to do. Ergo, forced to Mythic plus at a fairly high level in order to raid. What we are trying to achieve is to not remove rewards from high level players, but stop forcing content.
(same thing happened in shadowlands, same issues where stated, same complaints repeated, Season 4 removed that, and now we are back to where we were).
(back then it was trinkets from PVP aswell, so then it was 3 different activities)
I dont think you are forced to run m+. Its also not that easy to get 415 in m+. You are heavily dependend on the vault rng. I for myself got hands 3 times in a row…
The only thing that I consider unbalanced is the concentrated focus currency to craft gear
