Mythic raid and guilds

hi all, first of all, this want to be a constructive topic,so let’s keep it clean and nice

It’s ben a long time since i joined the wow comunity, exactly since the end of tbc.Had great time and fun with a lot of people all around the servers when i was raiding in a just transfered raiding guild on Bronze Dragonflight during Wrath.Had to say goodbye to them because of working schedule and i became an afternoon raider,i found a lot of people having same time issues as mine and start raiding with them, the guild grew up in numbers but at the start of ICC we had people that didn’t want to raid anymore on a high level so we usually were clearing until the 4th boss (Saurfang, that gave the uber trinket) and then no one else than 12 players want to try to defeat the others bosses. Got the 10 player heroic mode that finally helped us clear the Lich King and then obviously the guild exploded beacuse someone was feeling left behind wile others feeling too good to be carrying the others.

Time passes and we got the same problems until the advent of mythic raid were the only way to go to the end game was doing raid with 19 other people dedicated to raid.
And this is were the problem start: if u got the peoples that join your guild that have enough brain to stay benched for some reasons ( like no need of that class,or drops , even if they are wonderful players), then it’s fine as long as it goes; if not the guild collapse because everyone want to raid and don’t wanna stay out of raid waiting,or won’t sign up to calendar’s events,or simply goes to holydays in summer and winter so the guild have to stop.

Currently we are in an afternoon raiding guild that had to stop raiding this week because of that kind of "bad luck " that u can get in a typical afternoon raiding guil: last minute work call,IRL problems that can be solved only in day time ( imagine having to go to the doctor and having to call a day because the tank or the healer is gone). It really sucks when u know that with your guild you can reach a higher goal and you missed it because of that…

SO,after all the above,do you think is doable a mythic raid that is more flexible in numbers than how it is now? just like a heroic version but tuned in a mythic version of it?Maybe can be helpful even to keep people raiding to the very end of an expansion…

I fully agree putting the mythic mode from 10 or 15 would be the wisest choice

When mike and ion raids it easy to find 20 blizzard employees to raid with, but for the random Joe, 20 is hard work. Also managing them abit because drama can happend.

I dont think Mike or Ion are interested in the average Joe when it comes to raiding.

Yes it should be like heroic raid .but will blizzard fix it ? Is another matter

Not really at this point. Mostly because late heroic bosses and early mythic are the same difficulty wise.

They had problem back when heroic was 10 and 25. It was really hard to balance the game modes and actually design around that.

From my PoV the only thing they could do similar to that is make heroic abit harder and be the “end point” of gearing (which is time gated anyway), and keep mythic as it is with the tmogs and other rewards.

You actually believe they play World of Warcraft?

mike who ? and Ion hsd not raided since early Legion.

mike ybarra. Left Blizzard not that long ago. Makes no sense why hes being mentioned here since hes no longer involved.

Ion was raiding in Shadowlands. He went off the radar during Sanctum of Domination. He was a meme (and not a positive one) in the raiding community up to that point.

No. 10 and 25 were not balanceable and one of the two always happened to be faceroll. Thats why they went with a fixed number. At best you will get a reduction to 15 people (which will not prevent your aforementioned problems given they happened even to 10man guilds).
