I’m looking for some info (preferably from a Blizzard representative) about why mythic raiding ID exists. I mean, why if I pug a boss with one group, I can’t try to pug a different boss with another group. Also, why can’t people pug mythic cross-realm? I used to do it in BFA, but it seems like it’s not possible now.
I’d like to find why these restrictions are in place primarily because these restrictions basically make me quite the game after a month or two in the expansion. I get my AOTC, farm the bosses for a bit more and then it gets boring since I can’t really try to progress mythic with pugs.
I’ve seen people say it’s too hard for pugs to complete and if mythic pugs in the same way one can pug HC would be a thing, blizzard would have to make the fights easier. I think this argument doesn’t make sense. People who want to pug a mythic don’t expect to get CE or fights to be easy. They just want to have a chance to get something more then first 1-3 bosses because that’s how long the group will stay together at best. I for one would be happy to get to something like 6-8 bosses before the next tier.
As for the argument “Get a guild”. I don’t understand why people act like it’s an easy thing to do.
In my case - I only started to raid in Nylotha, managed to full clear HC and first 3 mythic bosses as a pugger. While preparing for SL, I applied to several guilds that do some sort of mythic raiding. However, since I don’t have a lot of experience, the only position I get offered is “Social”. I’m not a prodigal player, but I’m 100% sure I could easily progress mythic content. Obviously I won’t expect to be in a top100 or even top1000 world guild. But just a guild that could get at least close to CE during the tier. However, if you are a new player and don’t have other friends who play the game, you are just ****ed. Pugs have been my only way to progress NM and HC, however I did that during the first two or three weeks of this expac. Now I’m just bored and have to quit the game because for some unknown reason pugging mythic is not allowed due to some imaginary reasons that simply doesn’t exist.
Mythic cross realm will unlock once the Hall of Fame is full for both the Alliance and Horde. Blizzard has ignored the glaring issue that the Alliance PvE scene has been dying for many years so it’s taking longer and longer for their hall to fill up which is why cross realm is taking so long to unlock.
As for the raid ID, I think it’s to encourage guild and group play. It’s not really meant to be pugged (at least not beyond like the first 2-3 easy bosses).
Cross realm has always required an unlock by Blizzard. They changed it to the Hall of Fame being the requirement. Before the Hall of fame it was just some date late on in the patch that Blizzard decided.
So when the Alliance fill their 100 it will go cross realm. The Horde have done theirs.
At the time of posting this 53 Alliance guilds have killed Mythic Daddy Dena.
It’s definitely an old relic of the past that should be gone by now. I do think it serves no purpose, whatsoever. Mythic raiding is already full of constraints, so relinquish some of them can only be good.
Raid ID is actually a good thing. Realm restrictions can go die in a fire (along with other ancient relics of the past such as dazing mechanics)
But Raid ID does something cool in mythic pugs that are on 2nd boss or later. People accept the lock and sit through wipes. Sit and learn. On first boss they leave after first wipe. On any normal or hc boss you get the same story. 1 wipe = instant leaves, losing time on finding replacements.
On mythic with raid ID this does not happen. Wipe, retry. Wipe, retry. No leavers, as leaving will lock you out of any other mythic group for this week. You will leave if the group is hopelessly bad ofc but in general people are willing to stay and practice.
Protecting the integrity of the Mythic raid as a whole is what you’re not thinking of.
If the raid lockout did not exist in the way it does now there would be no prestige tied to clearing Mythic bosses, as you could always just hire a team of mercenaries to clear the raid for you.
Perhaps not some of the absolutely biggest names, but consider the amount of gold that would be able to be made by selling spots in the Hall of Fame. It would completely destroy the Mythic raiding scene as well as create an uproar in the community, and the negativity against boosting is already blown out of proportion.
I’m not sure I agree, people do buy boosts for mythic clears, especially when there is a mount at the end.
It is some time before those RWF guilds/players can carry.
The cost is phenominal because it’s a one time run, so yes in that sense it would devalue the mythic kill and they could just have re-useable lockouts.
I’m not saying I feel the mythic lockout system needs to change.
Yeah I know it takes time before everything is boostable. But if we wouldn’t be locked out of doing bosses more than once I know for sure I would personally aim to sell Hall of Fame spots by just joining other guilds and clearing it for them.
