Myths of the White Stallion

I’m prepping my character for the Hydraxian Waterlords realm when Classic comes out on the 27th. So I have been doing a little research and I have come across this text in the Human page of wowpedia.

The powerful and unyielding White Stallion features heavily in the myths of ancient human tribes.

I would like to ask the community here to post their own mythologies/tales that include the white stallion, since there seems to be little information about these ancient Arathi myths.
I suspect that this “White Stallion” is a Chinese whispers version Malorne, or could be an Equine Ancient/Wild God.

According to Chronicles, what would become early humanity (devolved Vrykul) moved to the land of Tyr’s Fall (Tirisfal) well before the world was sundered by the… Well… Sundering. As such, they would have likely had interaction with the Wild Gods who traveled much of Azeroth. To that end? Yeah, I think that you are spot on with this entity being Malorne or some Equine Wild God who perhaps perished at some point in history.

Personally, if I had to make one up? I’d have one about a lost child being escorted through the deep dark forest by the benevolent stallion, who led the child home. Malorne is a guardian of nature and all in it, and I believe he’d absolutely go out of his way to help a lost and scared innocent. And perhaps he would teach the child on the way that - really - nature isn’t anything to be afraid of, so long as you live in harmony with it.

Alternately, you can go for the classic ‘human hunter’ myth, which would probably come out somewhat similar to the Tauren myth “The White Stag and the Moon.”

I have to say, I really like some things kept a mystery. Yes, it could have been Malorne. Or another Wild God. Or, and really, we don’t have enough of that in this game… just supersticion. That we have a world full of magic doesn’t mean that everything people believe has to be true, and human fantasy is perfectly capable of making up some guiding animal spirits without help from them.

sometimes, myths and folklore are best kept as what they are. it’s what makes mythology and its meanings fun and exciting.

I like detailed lore, little things like this suggest that horses are very important iconical creatures to Humanity. The Brotherhood of the Horse also seems to allude to this special relationship.
