[N-RP] 🔒 Guild of Thieves - Criminal Roleplay 🗝️

The Guild of Thieves

The Guild of Thieves has existed for many years. Preying on the decadence of Stormwind City and the rich manor houses of the surrounding countryside the criminals that formed this enterprise gathered for protection from the hounding of the City Watch and the local militias. It exists to make money for those who control it and to share that with it’s members, and any activity that interferes with this goal will undoubtedly draw the ire of the guild. It has many members; peasants who couldn’t find work in the city, poor students, vagabonds, gamblers, wanderers, middle and upper class families impoverished by the many wars or business ruin, abandoned urchins, social outcasts and poor foreigners.

Though the numbers of the Guild swell and subside with the passing seasons, the core of the of the guild, the real professionals, has almost always stayed the same. It is known within the guild that the Guildmaster has never changed even after decades of the guild’s constant existence.

The Guild is headquartered in Stormwind but has holdings in a small village just south of the city.
For this largesse the townsfolk generally suffer no depredations from the criminal enterprise, as long as their dues are paid of course.

Recruitment

The Guild of Thieves is open to any character who views themselves as a larcenous criminal. Be they burglars, pickpockets, locksmiths, foot-pads all are welcome as long as they are willing to pay a percentage of the profits from their job to the guild. In return, the guild offers some protection from the law, a base of operations to be used as needed and a network of contacts and supplies to allow for larger and more well paid jobs.

Code of Conduct

The guild is pretty light touch when it comes to organisation of events and role-play. Heists and bounties will be offered on occasion but the guild will mainly serve to facilitate criminal RP in the bounds of Stormwind and Azeroth as required. We hope that members have the common sense not to engage in any acts that may get themselves easily reported and banned.

Races and Class

All standard playable races are allowed. When it comes to character class, again anything is allowed as a criminal does not need to be able to make use of stealth button to break the law!

Contacts

The guild structure is simple whilst we form. Any member can be contacted to join the guild in an OOC basis, and then a meeting between either the Daymaster/Nightmaster will be arranged for the prospective thief to sign up IC.

For more information look out for the officers Keldarion or Liserette being online or message us on the Argent Archives or through Discord via. either the Stormwind or the Gilded Dagger Discord Servers.

I like the sound of this concept and wish the guild every success! :moneybag:

Curious, though, and feel free not to clarify if the mystery adds to the allure - it’s just something I think potential members might wonder about. Do you have a general stance on how far members may go in their criminal pursuits (violence, blackmailing, etc)? Is the theme leaning more toward noble outlaws in Robin Hood fashion, unapologetic villains, or something in-between as the member examples seem to suggest?

Thank you for the good wishes!

The guild will run the gamut of criminal pursuits, although assassinations for hire are probably going to be few and far between as I think they’re best left to more specialised individuals and also allows us to run some collaboration with those people too.

The guild is pretty morally ambiguous; as long as the gold flows from the criminals below the Guildmaster cares not where it comes from as long as it doesn’t bring too much trouble with it. So we want our criminals to try and keep anything too vicious rare and far between but only because it draws attention, not because they’re particularly against it.

On the flip-side there will be criminals in the guild who have a softer spot when it comes to their crimes, noble outlaws indeed.

We’ve been spreading the love around Stormwind lately, with a small flurry of banditry south of the river in Duskwood.

If you’re looking to join just contact either myself or Keldarion for more information, check out or page on the AA or join in with some of our random RP if you see us in the streets and alleys of the city.

This evening in Stormwind, whilst The Dove’s live concert was playing a daring heist took place at the Cathedral of Light. This was only discovered when five masked individuals crashed out of the side of an upper story window to land in the Square below.

Onlookers gawped in confusion as a snowy white worgen, a small mechanical gnome and three others were spotted fleeing the scene of the crime! No doubt the timing of the concert aided with this heinous action pulling away the guards as it did.

Rumours are that a scattering of small golden relics, studded with crimson rubies were found below the window… these relics all with a familiar symbol imprinted onto them

Local businessman and merchant Keldarion Moonshadow was spotted at the re-opening event of the Blue Recluse in Stormwind on Saturday evening. Following the festivities he could be seen deep in conversation with one of the restaurant’s new owners, Bobbi Valentino offering his support and condolences about the recent assault upon the business only a few nights previous

I have been lamenting the lack of a dedicated Thieves Guild in WoW.

The Uncrowned are Assassins. A Thieves Guild, ideally, does not kill.

Bad for Business.

While the sky above the Shady Lady tavern glittered with fireworks and magical displays, a shadowy heist unfolded down at the Harbour. It was only discovered when The Dawn’s Venture began to list precariously in the water—too late for the guards to stop what many now call the “Ghost Grain Robbery.”

Onlookers were left blinking in confusion as whispers spread of masked figures emerging from a gash in the hull under moonlight. A few sharp-eyed witnesses claim to have seen floury footprints trailing along the dock and a barge vanishing upriver without sound or lantern.

Rumours swirl that the attackers struck as the crew lay asleep—one sailor unaccounted for, with blood leading to the sea. Most curiously, the grain aboard had been held by harbour officials for no stated reason. Was this delay part of the plot?

And let’s not forget the timing—carnival chaos above, “Ladies of the Night” crowding the piers, and a dock too distracted to notice a whole cargo vanishing into the night.

Several runners were spotted carrying messages back and forth between the Shady Lady and the Pig & Whistle taverns last night during the Shady Brawl. Slips of paper were passed back forth all night it’s said and prominent businessman Keldarion Moonshadow was spotted at least once passing a message to one of these runners. Curiously, the new Lady’s Champion and winner of the Brawl, miss Tia Meadows is herself said to be a regular at the Pig & Whistle
