[N-RP | Vulpera | Adventure] The Meridian Edict 🦊

The Meridian Edict will be at the weekly Horde Gathering later today at 8 o'clock! The Gathering will take place in Bloodhoof Village, Mulgore.

We won’t be tending or running anything unique, but we will be having a social get together and everyone is welcome! Please feel free to come join us, the more the merrier.

Last night, we had a wonderful evening at the Fireside Gathering with lots of new and lots of familiar faces. Estelliana Starmist provided several tarot readings, each promising bright and wonderful futures to others, and the local delivery dracthyr, Lapsigeth, delivered some more interesting “letters” she found in the trash.

The night took a suprising turn when the Edict confronted an, alleged, perpetrator of the great Dalaran Library Incident. With bribery, demands of lawyers, and plea deals… and for some reason, the creation of sentient cheese?

And, with that creation of sentient cheese, we gained a new pet around the Arboretum: Orgrimmar Bench. Though, their friends call them Soggy Obby.

The Meridian Edict met in Bloodhoof village for the weekly Horde social gathering.

They met with the estranged sister of one of their fellow members, which led to some heated moments and discussions about family. By the end of the night, however, they were all sharing fish together, sitting comfortably and peacefully by the lake.

To the sidelines, the Edict’s leather supplier talked with a troll hunter, both sparred and shared stories; teaching eachother their hunting methods.

Last night was a far less… violent evening in the library… or was it?

The Edict gathered in the Dalaran library to hold a civil discussion over tea about the recent incident regarding the Edict’s less than stellar behaviour the last they were there. This tea, of course, necessitated the need of lawyers, armour, and assurances. However, when the stern talking to was finished, the Edict promised no more books were to be thrown in the library.

Once the responsible adults had long departed, however, a certain Ren’dorei and Vulpera broke out into a wrestle over some cheese. Ontop of that, there was animals running around… portals to Pandaria… and cake with tea. However, no books were harmed. This time.

The Meridian Edict will be travelling to Booty Bay in 20 minutes from making this post to visit the market as part of the Solstice Bazaar. It’d be great to see you there!

Our night in Booty Bay went well, with a variety of customers coming by we weren’t short for entertaining situations! We even had the long anticipated meeting of the lovely wife of our resident man of mystery, who quickly became a new friend for the Edict. Though, the night got a little chaotic shortly after the shop closed with pyromantic shenanigans, heated discussions, and the true question all must face: how do you make milk?

Then, a small group of the Edict gathered in Stormwind… quickly becoming derailed with mysterious fake ID’s of a certain Ren’dorei being distributed by a certain Mail-carrier Dractyhr… However, the situation was quickly brought to attention with the ID’s - some being immediately defaced - being returned to the impersonated person swiftly. With one being taken from a Quel’dorei who was on a bounty for the dead or alive capture of… Hogger? Advice was shared, especially a top tip to look for bounties that are not already completed.

A brief appearance was made in Moonglade, with a tiny handful of members exploring the Lunar Festival that was taking place. During their visit, they made “scissors(?)”, paper stars, made attempted deliveries of stars to outer space, and drank five hundred milks that were each so tiny they all fit in one glass (as opposed to five hundred alcohols.)

The expedition to Erantex, an uncharted island, continues. This time, the Edict’s pathfinders dedicated themselves exploring a fortress containing a method to rescue the imprisoned Lords of the island. Instead, they found one of the Lord’s who remained free, and a test for them.

They faced various traps, including a large rickety bridge above boiling water, each taking their out-of-the-box thinking to overcome. Overcome they did, from throwing around boxes containing powerful spirits, to clever leaping, and… flute playing… they successfully cleared the traps.

Well, this was until one Pathfinder found themselves tripping over a tripwire, causing a poisoned dart to catch him in the foot. He began losing consciousness quickly as the poison took effect, but with the clever thinking of the other Pathfinders he was stabilised and carried through the rest of the fortress.

This was not futile, however, as in the end the Edict found what they were looking for… a powerful artefact capable of communing with any Lord of the island, both those free and imprisoned. With this powerful tool they may just yet turn the tide on those who imprisoned the Lords.

…though, with a certain Vulpera making a deal with one of the Lord’s, things may only get more interesting from here.

It has been a hectic two weeks for the Meridian Edict, it is almost impressive how many situations they can find themselves in - or, put themselves in more often than not.

On the 13th the Solstice Bazaar was open to supply token gifts for Love is in the Air, and it was quite the busy night for us! With on the day commissions being crafted, and questions about if we sold arcane explosives, we truly felt the love with each customer buying gifts for their special someone.

Meanwhile… two Vulpera went on a night-time test of a new experimental model of rocket… nothing could go wrong with this.

Imgur

On the 15th a diverse cast of characters found themselves bumping into eachother in Booty Bay’s tavern, The Salty Sailor. Finding this much too cramped they carefully escorted themselves outside and formed an… egg? An oblong? An elispe? …eventually, a circle. There they spent the night playing “Sevens”, a dice game where you must guess the result of the rolls and reveal your secrets should you guess poorly.

As the evening faded into night, and the group dispersed, the only thing left to do was fish. We assure you, only a few people had fallen into the water, and only one was drunk.

Then, on the 17th, the Edicts Pathfinders returned to their Erantex expedition, however… this time they took a drastic detour from the one they had promised. What will the consequences of this be? It is not every day you spar with a powerful embodiment of flame, let alone one of death…

Tuesday, as always, the Edict found themselves enjoying their day off in Dalaran Library on the 20th. Curious illusions were cast as pranks, and deep debate was had about whether or not dracthyr were demons in disguise. Some of the Edict even travelled to the ocean below to produce drinkable sea water!

However in the mean time… something stirred in the Underbelly, and the Edict find more questions than answers coming their way…

Imgur

And not allowing these answers to evade him, the next day a disguised Vulpera found his way to Silvermoon to ask questions about a murder mystery… joined by possibly the most incapable junior detective he has ever met.

Imgur

On the 23rd the Pathfinders came to their camp in Erantex to discuss the path forward as well as spend bonding time together fishing… and diving with sharks. At the setting of a comfortable campfire, the Edict spent the evening revelling in childish pranks and discussions. At one point Vulpera’s were even launched through the air to swipe goods from tall places, and a mysterious path was set into motion.

The next day the Pathfinders got back on track with their expedition, returning to the mysterious revolutionary they had helped to claim their rewards. There, a certain Vulpera realised his affinity for the Flame, and learned of the path forward to hone it alongside the old orc.

The revolutionary explained our potential next steps that will help the revolution, and after careful discussion the Pathfinders have decided to focus their efforts on rescuing one of the trapped spirits of the land in hope of gaining their favour.

And finally, yesterday, the Edict met once more in Booty Bay. They discussed things that had been lost to them, that they wanted to seek out. Fortunately for them, fate was on their side to have the Edict’s resident Divinator among them. There they had their fortunes read, on whether what they seek can be found, where it is, and what the outcome of finding it shall be.

After the readings their conversations faded into discussion of strategy, featuring sorcerors of infinite power and soldiers of arts & craft skills, as well as the philosophy of fate and mistakes.

Thank you all who visited the Edict at the Solstice Bazaar today! We hope to see you again soon at our next shop night !

Last night the Solstice Bazaar was once more open for business in Dalaran, supplying their wonderfully eclectic range of goods and having good conversations with their colourful customers.

However admist the shopping and customers the Edict discussed the best solutions for their elf problems. For some reason, not everyone agreed that suspending a wooden elf-sized trap above the door would be the best way of dealing with the issue.

Imgur

Eventually, the problem elf shortly arrived. It may have been a tall order, but with our Luminary leading the charge and our Dracthyr protecting the door he ended up being little hassle. He was handled with tact and grace… with no shortage of jokes.

A short story, depicting Ksar’das time in Erantex

Summary

Ksar’das was sitting before the bonfire at the camp, staring at it. The book he got from Manex a few days ago was lying nearby - by that time he has remembered most of quotes from it but that alone wasn’t enough to wield the Flame

“Focus on your feelings of perseverance, hope and determination. What drives you to pursue your goal? Is it noble?”

Questions he has been asking many people before. Questions he once knew the answers to - or thought he knew?.. He found and joined Manex, as his reasoning and motivations were not as far from his own… but he hasn’t told him about what Iluntax told about Izei. Why? Is this because he thinks, as the Edict does, that it was Manex who did so? Or…

“Focus on your reason, logic and forethought. Discern your enemy’s move. Predict it with precision. Let your reason analyze and determine what they would do”

“Usurper”. One who fights against the “Tyrant”… Removing memories from a loyal follower to sway him to his side would be of great help, especially if he follows the orders blindly…If Rhaethas - and Erremex - are to be believed… But would he go -that- far?

“Let your intuition, faith and instinct speak to you? What do they say?”

Nobody believed him when she has returned back - broken, no memories… brainwashed. Everyone blamed it on Kythis. Chapel. Him himself… But he knew the truth. He knew that she followed Ytharinoss, the “Saint King”. The Tyrant. And he knew that Kythis - or Chapel - hadn’t done any of that. She deceived them - and he wasn’t able to stop them…

But… Is he that sure that it is a case here -again-? Or… he just searches for reasons to still stay at Manex side? The only person he knew from life before who hadn’t sent him off or thrown away…

Yet

Has he not shared his thoughts with the Edict because he is afraid they will send him away?

Like everyone else has done in the past?

The orc growled quietly, hitting the ground with his fist - Gora, the zhevra grazing nearby brayed and snorted at the sudden move

“Let spirit mesh with golden fire, let it be a guiding light, let it be the scorching sun which burns at the webs of lies”

Something was definitely amiss. And he had to find that out.

One way… or another…

I have been unable to give our updates for a while now, and this has been one very busy month for the Edict! Let’s have a months catchup!

Week One

On the 27th of Februrary, two figures met in the alpine woods of Grizzy Hills… there, a faithful acolyte conversed with her prophet, and the Covenant set plans into motion…

https://imgur.com/Tc7GDjM

Then, a few days later on the 2nd of March, the Edict’s Pathfinders visted an old friend in Erantex. They sought information about the lands culture, as well as permission for archaeological digs.

https://imgur.com/a/PbV1SPS

On the 3rd of March, a lone vulpera was found by two dracthyr, who quickly deemed it important to bring her to the Prophet. As it turns out, the two were long separated friends, and were reunited.

…it also turns out, one of the hired mages is not particularly adept at summoning portals, and a masked human found himself stranded in Uldum when attempting to reach Redridge…

https://imgur.com/a/GVD3h6r

The 5th of March found the Edict in Dalaran library, quickly becoming their favourite location to hang out it seems. There, a certain vulpera found a taste for crime… surely his newfound sticky fingers would not summon any ire from any specific humans…

https://imgur.com/a/FIV3sRM

Booty Bay… always one of the… most interesting cities in Azeroth… and that night was no different. While the shop originally found itself with business as usual, the night rather rapidly devolved… With a “playful” act of arson; a stern discussion between two friends about being good; and a sudden group of threatening dwarves, it was a night not soon forgotten. Nigel Foot… we will remember you…

Our Luminary promises a fire safety talk will be had and those responsible will find themselves facing suitable diciplinary action.

https://imgur.com/a/DL6JydQ

In the evening of Booty Bay, discussions were had with the fate of a certain Ren’dorei of the Edict. Together the group made a plan to confront the unusual Quel’dorei of a few days prior, to see what more he knew of the fated murder. The next day, the group collected what they believed to be the murder weapons involved in the case - with a lot of bargaining. Will this be the breakthrough they need to solve who Kaldone it?

https://imgur.com/a/ZDTqd0L

Week Two

The Darkmoon Faire came to town once more, and on the 8th the Edict found themselves together in attendance. With only one jailbreak, and some cult activity, they had a fantastic evening of games and playing around.

https://imgur.com/a/Ebr7nWC

The night culminated in the fighting arena, with two members facing eachother down in a friendly sparring.

https://imgur.com/wCaIfCa

…you can only imagine a fist fight between a human and a dracthyr to go only one way…

He gave it a good shot, atleast.

https://imgur.com/lkhc5gG

On the 9th, the pathfinders journeyed to a new part of Erantex. This time, a dangerous swamp full of viscious plants and venomous insects. With several close calls threatening their lives, they navigated the verdant expanse professionally and their lives intact.

https://imgur.com/a/ErgKaNe

Despite the dinginess of the jungle, they stumbled into a pleasant surprise. A long term friend of the Edict was found safe after a long period of silence, and they caught up on their plan for the future.

Following his advice, they journeyed further to their goal and successfully established links with new allies.

https://imgur.com/gmfa197

Then, on the 10th, several vulpera found themselves in Orgrimmar with only an unusual undead as supervision… the shenanigans that ensued… oh they change a person…

https://imgur.com/qd8IUVH

The Solstice Bazaar opened its doors in Dalaran once more on the 12th, giving the Edict yet another wonderfully busy shop night with many customers. When the artisans finally got a chance to catch their breath, they travelled to the park to discuss life.

https://imgur.com/a/hLxjavf

Week Three

After weeks of so much excitement, it only makes sense to retire back to the Elanaar Arboretum to relax a little… until you remember it’s the Edict, and chaos will ensue.

https://imgur.com/a/sbd4wql

Atleast, the chaos was generally contained, until Truth or Dare began…

https://imgur.com/a5mumrN

…we are banned from playing Truth or Dare now…

https://imgur.com/MRzUos5

With the support of our allies, on the 16th we were finally ready to face a powerful Prince of Erantex… a being seemingly of pure elemental energy. In the eye of the storm, the pathfinders fought a long and difficult battle, with many injuries to be healed. However, they found themselves victorious, freeing the Prince from the shackles of tyranny.

https://imgur.com/a/bFVlpoe

A break was vital, so on the 17th the Edict enjoyed a nice calm day in the park… as calm as it gets with them, anyway. Only one socially anxious elf needed a break away from the world atleast, so maybe they didn’t get too chaotic.

https://imgur.com/a/rOXSSUq

In that evening, a small group invited themselves to a certain humans abode… and a certain dracthyr is no longer welcome in the region of Redridge.

https://imgur.com/eEMZWkP

Kosh'harg

The bi-annual Kosh’harg began on the 18th, heralding the week-long springtime festival for the Orc’s. The Edict found themselves attending almost every single night, with chaotic ventures following suit.

https://imgur.com/a/csiy2jb

The first night saw a certain old orc leaving Erantex for the first time in months, as well as the appearance of a certain twin. They discussed the sources of magic, family dynamics, the Void… culminating in a trip to the edge of Outland, bringing many questions and temptations of what would happen should you jump from the ledge into the great beyond.

Our pathfinders Rasati and Fenerin found themselves as winners in the Infernal’s Kiss challenge, bringing pride to the Edict for their success!

https://imgur.com/8oEskR2

Day 2 of the Kosh’harg was spent mostly atop a dilapidated cart, where the Prophet found a challenger threatening to undo his Covenant of the Damned (Name Pending Verification). Who were threatening the greatest threat to Azeroth: bureaucracy.

https://imgur.com/a/JeZLzm6

On the 3rd day, The Solstice Bazaar opened it’s stall to the people of Nagrand, offering both their wares and Tarot card readings. However, when things got emotional due to a case of drunken tomfoolery, two vulpera found themselves stacking in a trenchcoat to cheer someone up.

https://imgur.com/a/w9lO9pw

Employee of the month material, by the way.

https://imgur.com/jmxS6ya

The fourth day found the Edicts new swordmaiden Palae participating in the brawl competition. While she didn’t place, the Edict watched with pride as she represented us! The evening broke into some emotional discussions among members, with an adventure to meet god following.

https://imgur.com/a/QjTUpMx

The fifth day featured a pilgrimage to a sacred place for the Orc’s, with non-Orc’s permitted to join on a small ritual of their own. Remembering those who have long departed, and paying respects to them.

https://imgur.com/a/ht04P2I

In the evening… heated discussions about the past were faced.

https://imgur.com/sKbW6U3

The sixth day the festival came to a close, finalising

https://imgur.com/Tghf5KJ

However, despite the festivities, the Edict’s sights were still focussed on Erantex. On the 23rd they had an important roundez-vous to determine the path forward in their adventure, and to assess the crossroads they have found themselves at.

https://imgur.com/7e2E4Wo

The Last Week

On the 25th, the Edict returned to the Arboretum. There, they discussed the importance of self care as well as had their fortunes read.

https://imgur.com/9Tojmmf

The Solstice Bazaar opened its doors in Dalaran once more on the 26th - to quite the hectic night. From many customers - new and old- bustling through the doors, to a… banana slip incident, injuring one of the shop attendants who was thankfully healed on site.

However, while a certain Ren’dorei was healed, a Vulpera’s notebook was sadly eaten beyond repair.

https://imgur.com/a/5rzOrEY

Finally… on the 29th the evidence for the murder investigation was collected, brought to a secluded spot in Booty Bay. Using… forms of magic, the Edict were able to finally piece together what happened on that fateful night, and not only that - but watch the murder.

With their friend proven innocent, and the guilty determined… the next step is to figure out how to dispense justice.

The last week was quite eventful for the Meridian Edict!

On Monday, we have spent time at Arboretum, which has turned into investigation on what could go wrong while cooking cakes (spoiler: a lot), arguments with high stakes and a game, which included navigating in the dark and petting local bears.

The next day, some of us have visited Dalaran, where we have met our “Stillheart Lager” supplier we haven’t seen for a while. The new members have made a good impression for her, and we have delivered a cute but tired vulpera to a safe place to rest… Yet, as the more responsible people have left, the evening has turned into a bloody combat?

The Sosltice Bazaar was opened at The Market at the Bay again. A few older acquaintances met each other, a few trades were made.

Meanwhile, on Friday, as the guilty was determined, we went to Dalaran sewers to prove that to doubting ones… Just to find out that the backstabbing perpetrator was there as well! While he was able to flee in typical devoted followers of the Light fashion, he was wounded in ironic ways, and, thanks to combined efforts of the dracthyr involved, nobody has died beyond all the odds.

The Expedition to Erantex still continues - with the Edict venturing to the ashen desolated lands. The spirits were angered by accident… and a certain figure of dubious (or is it?) morality met, and certain information learnt… Where will the wheel of the Edict turn now?

The Meridian Edict's Noblegarden Egg Competion 2024

For Noblegarden the Edict held an egg decorating competition, where each member was able to collect an egg and decorate it to their hearts content in order to win a mysterious prize from Knasha. The submissions have been closed and we are now voting on a winner, but please feel free to have a look at the entries and compliments are always welcome!

The eggs will be, for a week from this post, placed in the window of the Meridian Edict’s shopfront the Solstice Bazaar in Dalaran. Your characters, even if they are not from the Edict or have yet to meet them, may be able to see these eggs in the window and comment on them icly!

You can find the full egg gallery here:
https://imgur.com/a/D8phdtb

Knasha

A black-furred Vulpera entered the Arboretum in the morning, carrying a large - seemingly bottomless - rucksack of items. She pulls out various party items, and began decorating the Elanaar Arboretum in a Noblegarden theme. With eggs, birds, bunnies, and an array of pastels.

She dragged a large table infront of the noticeboard, and threw a large cotton cloth with pastel patterns over it. On it, she placed a large basket of eggs, an array of paints and pigments, and one singular decorated egg.

The little fox grinned ear to ear, nodding a singular time in satisfaction, before walking out of the Arboretum with a wagging tail behind her.

https://imgur.com/o1l3dkb

Rhaethas Ashsong

A while later, Rhaethas slinked back into the Arboretum. As he walks through he pauses, staring at the new decorations and table with a tilted head. The void elf quietly takes one of the eggs and some paints, bringing them to the kitchen where he diligently begins painting one - Temi sat on the table both supervising and acting as inspiration. The finished cat-egg is placed on the display table.

https://imgur.com/GmwgnQf

Vilinyar

Vilinyar approaches the table with the eggs and places the one she made at the table, near the rest of rewards. She then nods to herself and leaves the room.

https://imgur.com/pZURQff

The Duskblossom Family

At some point during the day Daerron, together with two elven children, male and female, who bear visible family resemblance to him, come to the table. They leave three eggs there and leave after, the children chat between themselves.

https://imgur.com/iYoPemi
https://imgur.com/BmZxts1

Torn Ear

Around the evening Torn Ear comes to Arboretum and leaves an egg at the table, near the rest of them.

https://imgur.com/krdtsxE

Mitaraya

Mitaraya drops by the Arboretum, leaving behind an egg dyed purple, emptied, and with a dragon silhouette cut out of the eggshell.

https://imgur.com/xUoXECy

Rasati

An eggshell drawn on with marker is left next to the rest of the eggs by a satisfied Rasati.

https://imgur.com/H5EUjpD

Morisil Starshade

Mori walks up to the table, looks at Rasati’s submission and suddenly feels a lot better about her horrible scrawl. She places her egg, strange glued-on appendages included, down on the table, nudges it a bit and puts down a note that reads: “Sorry Luuso!”

https://imgur.com/aMqbjMr

Palae

Palae, meanwhile produces an egg faintly glimmering with arcane properties. The rune on it seems to match one on Palae’s sword.

https://imgur.com/E9fuNSS

Fenerin

Fenerin leaves his very colourful egg on the table, intentionally placing it in front of all the other eggs to make it more visible. There is a flat piece of paper cut out in the shape of a hat, and coloured in with crayon on the front side, taped to the top of the egg.

Fenji

Fenji leaves an odd, laser-engraved egg onto the table…
