Some additional practical information:

Tournament frenzy

Loremaster and Moonball Tournaments are FULL! Come cheer for your favorite contestants! And please remember, Moonball does not use magic wands IC - they’re balls coated with moonglow!

Moonball players, please also check in your talent tree that you do not have speed-enhancing passives such as Fleet Footed or Pathfinding on and re-spec as necessary.

Regarding the raffles

There’s no need to worry about getting raffle tickets at the festival. The nightly raffles will be hosted at the end of the night and anyone is able to participate! The players will be assigned a number and I’ll /roll the winning numbers, with random participants invited to a raid group for transparency. The raffle will organized after the Lantern Show on Friday and after the Costume Contest on Saturday.

“It’s so… GREEN!”

If you think jade, lime and chartreuse ain’t your colors, for a start you can do

/Console ffxglow 0

to disable the bloom effect in Moonglade. Additionally, you could use Inky Black Potions or the following toys to change the lighting condition around you: Date Simulation Modulator, Environmental Simulator. The toys are visible only to yourself, and to your party/raid members. Recommended to place somewhere central of where you plan to hang around, due to the limited radius and cooldown the toys. Bushes camouflage them well with screenshots in mind.

For the stallholders

You’re welcome to glow-up your stall with a variety of toys and items to help it stand out! Examples: Market Tent, Smoke Flares, Lunar Lanterns / Festival Lanterns, and Sunglow (consumable) to gently illuminate the space around you. You’re also welcome to occasionally use the nearby firework launchers to light up the sky around the market.

Lantern Show

Reminder: To see all the particle effects featured in the Lantern Show, please adjust your game settings as follows:

Game Menu > Options > Graphics > Spell Density = Everything

I believe the default is ‘Dynamic’ for most people.

Lunar Preservation Quest

Since there’s a new mount reward for 75 Elder’s Coins this year, many non-roleplayers are visiting Moonglade to do the Lunar Preservation quest that has you jump in and out of Moonwells. Please try not to mind this as much as you can. Should any player intentionally harass the roleplayers in the area, please politely inform them how and why their behaviour is disruptive before possibly reporting them.

Opening speech location

The opening speech will start at 19:45 Server Time at the Lantern Show’s location, over the pond facing the central moonwell.

I’ll start organizing Moonball quickly afterward - if you’ve signed up to the tournament, please arrive at the designated location on the map by 20:15 Server Time so that we can get started on good time. Sahoenna will handle the Loremaster Tournament.

Host name

I’ll be online as the strapping druid Kaitalos, with the exception of Sabre on Saturday during the theatre play and Acrona during the dances. I apologise in advance if I’m slow to reply to any inquiries in-game; I’ll be busy coordinating things both in-character and OOC in the background. Please check the forum thread or Carrd first to see if they provide an answer to any of your questions!

Music Room

I’ll start playing music for the festivities on the Watch4Gether Music Room around 19:30 onwards for anyone who might be bored with the somber default Moonglade music. :musical_note: Welcome to tune in and drop out any time you like!

Thanks, everyone, for your patience with the randomized prize draw! With so many people present, I felt the number shouting was the fairest approach—believe me, I explored alternatives! I even spent an hour testing whether the Compass toy would truly send me in a random direction every time to point out a winner… only to learn it has a rather suspicious bias toward certain directions.

Some notes for tonight:

Opening speech location on Saturday

The festivities kick off with another opening speech at 19:45 Server Time, this time in front of the south-eastern lodge where the Moonball was held, so that we can smoothly transition to the theatre play that follows right after.

Theatre play

We hope you enjoy the stories that will be shared! With so many people gathered for the festivities, we kindly ask that unrelated in-character small talk be kept at a distance or moved to /w or party chat. This will help ensure that spectators can easily follow along with the play. Thank you for your understanding! The occasional in-character commentary about the play and reactions is of course fine!

Dancing prancing

After the play, I’ll be switching to Acrona to host the dancing! Remember, you’ll need a partner for this activity. Since the game’s /emotes are quite limited, I encourage you to use plenty of imagination to bring the choreographies to life - graceful or otherwise! To help with this, I’ll be playing some background soundtracks through the Music Room.

Costume Contest: War of the Ancients

No advance sign-up is needed for the contest happening after the dancing, we’ll gauge interest on the spot and try organize the contest in a way that makes it a fun experience for both participants and the audience! As this contest is highly subjective, there won’t be specific prizes, but the ultimate glory of being crowned the winners awaits! I can’t wait to see the costumes people come up with!

Mixing pieces from different classes (cloth, leather, mail, plate) is fine, as we haven’t classified this as a pure transmog contest.

Music Room

I’ll play music via the Watch2Gether room again tonight, starting around the time of the opening speech. Welcome to drop in and out any time!

Catering

The market is over, and the stallholders have earned a free day to enjoy the festivities with everyone else. But don’t worry about starving - the central building continues to serve as a lounge where delicious food and drink are available for purchase. The Rainblossom Brewhouse (Menu) brings delicious pandaren cuisine to the festival, along with Lunar Festival classics such as Moonglow!

The usual local food and drink can be purchased from the NPC in the same building.

For sure, I don’t think I’ve seen a Lunar Festival as busy as this one. Absolutely loved my time and I’m looking forward to next year already! It’s an absolute shame it’s over so soon, if anything. Thanks for the good times, Acrona!
