Thank you so much for hosting this. It was a great time, and I canāt even imagine how much work you guys put into it. My favorite thing about these server-wide events is seeing all the characters and guilds that donāt normally interact come together and weave their stories together for a brief moment.
A large thanks from us in Eluneās Justice as a whole! The festival was amazing and memoreable experience! Really enjoyed the play, just like the one at the spring festival last year, they rock!
Thank you for hosting the Lunar Festival! It was amazing - Iād like to believe that the few occasional OOCers who were in Moonglade just for the quests also paused whatever they were doing to just watch the Lantern Show or the Raffle.
I also find it funny when events get so big that they cause server lag. Suffering from success!
(Hopefully the WoW devs paused whatever they were doing to investigate the cause for server lag to also just watch along! Moonball should become a canonized sport in the loreā¦)
That was amazing.
Iām not participated because iām too shy to RP with you all but iām still a RP enjoyer and i was so delighted by what i saw/read.
The moonball was so amazing to watch.
You all did very good. That was so entertaining
A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this event happen! By a quick estimate, I think we had between 300-400 players join in the festivities over the two days, and it was incredible to see so much energy and enthusiasm from the community.
For me personally, this was a nostalgic return to something Iāve deeply enjoyed organizing in the past, from the Lunar Festivals in Darnassus to the Moonglade festival in 2019, before passing the torch to others. Hosting again has been on my mind for a while, and this year felt like the perfect time.
This was one of the most ambitious events Iāve ever put together in terms of planning, preparation, advertising and coordination. I couldnāt have done it alone, and I want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who contributed.
SHOUT-OUT
The play:
Neoleb: Narrator
Ryldor: Omenās Left Head
Aerandul: Young Tauren Hunter
Vryl: Night Elf Citizen, Giant Boar
Xav: Handsome Captain, Tauren Elder, Stag, Otter, Tree
Nifre and Idalia for helping with stage decoration during Act 1
I had so much fun working on this play, drawing inspiration from the bits of lore we have on Omen to help bring a new perspective to the character. Thank you all for bringing it to life! It was fun refining the play together. For anyone wondering, Omenās Right Head was played by myself.
Loremaster Tournament
Sahoenna for organizing the history quiz competition! Knowing your experience with these, I had no doubts that it would run smoothly, and I really appreciated you reaching out to bring it to the Lunar Festival.
Lantern Show:
Bettiboom
Gerklin
Hexfeltech
Furralt
Letzy
Nifre
Ryldor( Bratus Veilroot)
Coordinating the choreography - from blue to red and green, to gold - was something I was really excited about, and your help in performing made it a reality. Thank you for making it such a stunning part of the festival! Thank you also for crafting and gathering items and toys needed for the show.
Moonball
Ryldor (Bratus Veilroot) and Nifre: Smoke flares for the tournament ring
Brigita: Inspecting players for speed-enhancing talents and gear
Your efforts kept the tournament fair and immersive - thank you!
Stallholders
A heartfelt thanks to all the stalls who brought their creativity and dedication:
BOOMTECās Blastinā Bonanza
Borealis Bakery
Catch the Blue Child
Dustcloud Bazaar
Hono the Fire Dancer
Lucky Charms
Moonlit Sandfox Tavern
Oodles of Noodles
Scavengerās Delight
Starwoven Alchemics & Talismans
T-K Studios
The White Lasher
Travelling Tails
Wyvernstriderās Honey Meads
They added so much life to the festival, and I hope you had as much fun running them as people had visiting!
Catering
Leejing for handling catering! I was initially worried about finding someone for this role, so it was a relief and a joy to have you running the central lodge counter both days. I know the space was buzzing with activity, even though I couldnāt always be there to see it firsthand.
Costume Contest
I completely underestimated the turnout for this, expecting maybe twenty participants max based on past events, only to be met with a full-scale Legion invasion of villains and heroes! While it stretched longer than planned, I wanted to make sure everyone had their moment in the spotlight.
Thank you to my fellow judges:
Meladriss
Mogi (Xav)
Ryldor (as Bratus Veilroot)
The Juryās top three were Mannoroth, Malorne and Huln Highmountain, while the audienceās favorite was Malfurion. That said, there were so many costumes that wowed us even if they didnāt make it to the final cut! Also loved the little acts some participants had prepared.
Dancing
Ryldor (Bratus Veilroot) for helping rehearse the two guided dance choreographies. This was the largest dance activity Iāve organized to date, with 80 players moving simultaneously! It was important to test the choreographies and design a routine that could be performed effectively in a limited space. I really enjoyed the challenge of theming the dances to capture the spirit of the event, and Ryldor had some good ideas to suggest as we tested them out.
Tournament prize & raffle artists:
Periastron (Moonball)
Rinipanini (Loremaster)
Baavgai Art (Friday raffle)
Noorava (Friday raffle)
Elizaberta (Friday raffle)
Gaallo (Saturday raffle)
Escalucia (Saturday raffle)
Becky (Saturday raffle)
Thank you for contributing your skills for special prizes! I canāt wait to see what you create for the winners.
Other acknowledgements:
Jaiāare: For filming the eventācapturing everything from start to finish so that we have a record to look back on. I cannot express how grateful I am for your dedication (and for staying up so late to get it all!).
Thanks to you I donāt need to face post-event existential crisis yet, as Iām itching to start working on the event video!
Theris Thornflare: For jumping in as an impromptu town crier, helping attendees navigate all the activities. Your calls helped people find their way around in the bustle of so many moving parts!
Ryldor (Bratus Veilroot) & Nifre again: For all the additional set decorations and bringing a touch of fun to the raffles with your merry treant antics.
And lastly, but certainly not least, my trusty Bottle of Baileyās for helping take the edge off.
This event was an incredible experience, and I look forward to hosting the festival again next year! Thank you all for being part of it.
Stay tuned for the event video!
Thank you so much to Acrona for hosting, your passion is an absolute boon to the server, and we all sincerely hope there will be more in the future!
Thank you for letting me help out ābackstageā to see a glimpse of the inner-workings of an event of this scale. Itās insane to see how every single detail, every character movement and toy used, is meticulously choreographed and even rehearsed multiple times to ensure everything goes to plan. Itās theatre, not just the play but every activity, and it pushes the limits and breaks new ground for what an RP festival can be in this game. The lantern show was genuinely stunning to behold, Iāve never seen anything like that achieved in WoW before.
Everyone involved should be so, so proud of themselves!
The little glimpse I caught of the event in the form of the play, tāwas an absolute delight! Unfortunately my work schedule made it impossible to attend more than an hour or two, which was such a shame as I truly looked forward to the dance and costume contest!
(If anyone has screenshots of the different costumes, Iād love to see them )
That said, a big thank you to the organizer(s) and helpers. Itās so heart-warming to see all the characters in such festive spirits, but just equally lovely to see how hundreds of people from the server came together for this event.
An excellent start to the year of 2025 in roleplay, letās bring the good spirits for all the events that follow!
Elune-Adore
Although I missed day 1, I tried to stick around for day 2 for as long as I could (after flexing for the crowd in the Play), and as usual got to see you knock it out of the park.
Once youāre done recovering and enjoying yourself, I look forward to the next big event!
I loved the use of two Worgen for the two of Omenās heads, very creative.
There was also duo of contestants who had a similar idea, it was great.
Thank you so much for letting me have a stall
We had a wonderful time. Loved it all especially the dancing with Hamfist
Looking forward to next year already.
It was a joy attending there on Friday, and the Scavengerās Delight really had a great run, was really happy to see the interactions and the sheer volume of people attending this event !
Also got me a good reason to get my Vulpera druid out in order to celebrate the occasion and return to Moonglade !
Thank you so much for organizing this and to everyone present.
Canāt wait for next year and any other festivities that may crop up.
Thank you Horatio for making an in-character newsitem about the event!
A Lunar Evening - A Tinker, Ale & Cog Informational Pamphlet
Knowing how much time it takes to make IC news items, from attending an event to taking notes, editing screenshots, writing, linking and doing the layout, Iām really honored you took the time to feature so many aspects and people of the event!
It always warms my heart to see Horatio still around, given our gnome has run the pamphlet for 16 years already.
Ahoy-hoy,
Always a pleasure to attend and faff about. Thank you for putting in all the effort with the events you do. Brings them to the next level for sure. Also kudos to all the team that helped make this event wonderful. The play and fireworks were just great.
My stupid Tinker, Ale & Cog stuff just makes me smile whenever I look back over the years (and cringe at my spelling and grammar). Seeing all the folks I used to play with and remembering all the events is great. I hope some others do the same now and then, reminiscing via the silly articles. So, in 16 years I might look back at this one and smile, so its all worth it.
Hereās the event video, hope you like it!
A huge thank you to Jaiāare for roaming, recording, and providing me with over 300 files to put together this highlights video! With a couple additional shots captured by Meiling and myself.
Since I have plenty more footage from the event, Iād love to create another video in the future to feature even more people.
