Dalaran’s Diaspora and the Bel’ameth Academy invite scholars of all forms to present ideas on how to manage the distribution of texts in the face of losing a reliable central point for academic networks in Dalaran.

We welcome all schools of learning and application to show their suggestions for knowledge distribution. You could display spellwork, machines, or a supply strategy to allow us to continue to share invaluable knowledge in a more decentralised way.

Greetings academics of all fields,

With Dalaran gone, a reliable central node in the distribution of knowledge was lost. Its libraries, postal service, printers and merchants were invaluable in their neutrality and Kirin Tor led goals to preserve and share knowledge, magical or otherwise.

In the face of a world without Dalaran, this distribution needs to decentralise, but remain robust so that discoveries made in one part of the world can be rapidly distributed across Azeroth, especially in the face of threats like the Harbinger.

We invite scholars of all forms with potential solutions to this problem to present them at a summit on the twelth day of the final month of the year. This summit will take place at the Algeth’ar Academy’s library. We will allocate presenter spaces ahead of time, with any remaining being offered on the day.

Please contact Zyretha Snowdawn’s temporary office in Dornogal or Lintian Wintermist at the attached RSVP to ensure a space on the speakers list if you want one.

OOC Info and FAQ

Show respect: Don’t annoy the dragon guards! Keep your trouble away from here! On an OOC perspective, this event is organised by a small volunteer team who don’t have time to chase after trouble!

Don’t disrupt the presenters: Don’t be rude. The organisers will treat you as having been removed immediately by a guard and as trolling, there isn’t enough of us to handle a massive event disrupting scene.

Try out the Listener addon: This will help you pick your name out, or when the target sends a message in chat, Very helpful to follow the action!

Presenters who reach out in advance get priority: We’ll be making sure everyone who reaches out in advance of the event gets chance to say what they wanted to. People who decide on the day will be put to the back of the queue. Please contact Zyretha or Lintian via discord for be sure you get put on the list.

You must be level 70 or above!: Due to phasing issues with the Dragon Isles, all attendees must be level 70 or higher or will be phased into Chromie Time. More details here: Players in the Dragon Isles below level 70 cannot interact with players at level 70

Any form of academic is welcome: While organised by mages, not only magi have ideas or will benefit from the discussions taking place. Bring anyone who is invested in the distribution of knowledge.

Write your display in advance and break it up: Remember you are on the clock as a speaker so we can fit everyone in. Write it into a document and copy and paste it. Try to break it up into paragraph sized chunks you can read out to avoid causing issues for readers.
