[N-RP] <Vestige of the Flame> šŸ”„

We are the sons and daughters of Lordaeron, the brave few who dared to stand against the rotting corruption eating away at her lands and her people.

We were the shield raised in defence of the weak, the hammer that smote the wicked.

When Gilneas closed its gate, we fought.

When Stormwind turned its back, we fought.

When the Dwarves closed their eyes to our plight, we fought.

When the world abandoned our nation to the Scourge, we fought.

For fifteen years we have stood against the darkness, a bastion for the meek and the innocent - a haven from the nightmare that has become our country. We held back the Scourge, we kept the Forsaken in check - the south slept in peace because of our sacrifices.

Though we are no standing Army, we are not detered. For we shall never surrender, shall never submit, shall never give one inch to the unholy foe that has despoiled our kingdom and seeks to inflict genocide upon our people.

We are the Vestige of the Flame, the shield that protects the human kingdoms. We are the eyes on the wall, the blade in the night, the vigilant host that keeps the darkness at bay. Whilst we stand, we fight - and whilst we fight, we prevail.

Victory or death. For the Light! For Lordaeron!

Hello Argent Dawn!

We are the Vestige of the Flame. We are a group of Scarlet Role Players which follow along the Brotherhood concept line. The pamphlets within Silverpine Forest give us a unique insight into what we will be able to work with given the concept. We welcome anyone new or old wishing to give Scarlet RP a go to seek us out.

Many within our guild are newer Scarlets, post Legion, and have sought us out for the ideals in which the Scarlet Crusade was founded upon. We believe the Scarlet Crusade was formed out of good ideals and intentions, we wish to continue this legacy. For although there are two sides to every coin, we must be willing to recognize and accept the good with the bad.

We honor the Dwarves and High Elves for their commitment and sacrifices and are open to them for recruitment, with certain expectations of course.

What we are:

• We follow the CLASSIC version of the Scarlet Crusade which was formed as a force for good. We are still overly zealous, overly fanatical, overly paranoid.
• We do NOT believe the ā€˜lies’ that Dathrohan was a Dreadlord. This is mere Scourge propaganda.

What we are not:

• We are NOT Renegades.
• We are NOT Redemptionists.

Acceptable Races:

• We recruit Humans, Kul-Tirans, Dwarves, High Elves.
(Dwarves and High Elves must believe in the Human faith of the Church of the Holy Light and must be highly religious.)

Acceptable Classes:

• Paladin. Warrior. Hunter. Rogue. Priest. Mage.
• Monks. If people wish to be a Monk they need to follow the human traditions of it, not from Brother Korloff.
• We do NOT allow Raven Priests/Death Knights/Warlocks/Blood Magic/Druids/Shamans/Demon Hunters.

We operate with four objectives of immense importance.

• To rid Lordaeon of all Enemies of Lordaeron. Be it Horde, Troll bands, Ogre encampments or the occasional bandit. Our aim is to protect the Northern Provinces and prepare it for living habitation once more.

• To cleanse Lordaeron and the surrounding lands of the taint brought upon it by the Plague of Undeath and the Undead Scourge, and maintained by the presence of the Forsaken and their allies. A Lordaeron rebuilt for humans and habitable by humans is the only acceptable outcome of the prolonged conflict in the Plaguelands.

• To end the Undead threat across all of Azeroth. The people of Lordaeron know more deeply than any other the terror wrought by the menace which overtook their land. Therefore, it is their sworn duty, and so the duty of the Vestige of the Flame, to fell Undead and eliminate their source wherever it lays root.

• To spread the Word of the Light. The Scarlet Crusade had been formed as a result of specific and catastrophic turn of events. However, their cause goes deeper than overturning the results. They were not only an institution of war; it was also a host of those faithful to the Holy Light. Even when its blades may finally be sheathed, the order’s will remained dedicated to preaching the Word of the Holy Light.

Role Play days/times:

Guild Lore Events take place Wednesday / Thursday and Sunday every week from 1900-2200 Server Time. These are events that progress the Guild in it’s path. All other days/times are free for Guild Members to create individual progressive events or Camp RP.

Type of Events:

The type of events we hold are restricted to their ultimate purposes of Military / Church / Diplomacy / Cleansing Events / Events of the Past / RP-PVP.

• Military Events: Drill and Weapons Training. Scouting. Ambushing. Assaulting. Defending.

• Church Events: Holding Mass. Sermons. Confession. Blessing.

• Diplomacy Events: Negotiating peace or war. Strengthening bonds amongst groups. Acquiring materials. Politics.

• Cleansing Events: Events in which we move to rid the land of Taint and Corruption from the Scourge inhabitants of Lordaeron.

• Events of the Past: Here, we relive moments of the past of The Scarlet Crusade. While events are not to be taken fully IC, it is reliving a particular time and period of the faction.

• RP-PVP: There are many groups in the Northern Provinces of the Eastern Kingdoms with OOC respect for one another that bring forward great storylines and altercations in which sides are bound to clash. We ensure a specific rule set is understood, applied and followed for the enjoyment of all others. Not to be confused with Scripted Events, these Events are determined through missions and actions.

Common Questions:

What you will not see us do:

• We will NOT enter any Alliance settlement with the Tabard or armor of the Scarlet Crusade. There may be times where we send undercover agents but we will not be parading around with our tabards and banners.
• We will NOT become friends or allies with any group outside of the Scarlet Crusade. We may send an Emissary to establish non-hostile intentions and with trade of goods and services.

Lil confused at this, you referring to shadow priests? First I’ve honestly seen ā€˜Raven Priests’ used as a term.

They’re an odd type of shadow priest seen in the ranks of the Scarlet Onslaught in Northrend!

They’re a common theme in Northrend scarlet priests, go check them out in Dragonblight and the cathedral north of Icecrown.

Speaking as someone who was nervous about how it would turn out when i got ā€œback into itā€ as an old scarlet roleplayer. I have been pleasantly suprised with how events are handled. And how secrets and non secrets are handled.

We even had an event where we all came together feasting on a Hillsbrad bear having our characters express their suprise at that one rare moment of normalcy despite all the messed up things this world and its reality provides.

It’s been a perfect balance of both worlds so far. There has been zealotry and there has been casual conversations with nice thoughts. Not one-dimensional at all. But that’s my two cents. If you are interested in verifying, join us.

It certainly hasn’t felt like anyone seeks to be number uno in what we do. We survive, we live. We improve and we find new ways while holding onto old ways. For Lordaeron!

The dead should stay dead. The living should live. As the light willed in the first place.

I got to DM for the first time in my entire life and had a blast actually seeing priests in action. Buffing, shielding, healing. It was great.

Oh and it appears we aren’t living in a bronze dragon time bubble. Something many tend alot to go for. So that’s awesome. (Y’know, time passes after all. Things can’t always remain the same.)

But speaking as a remnant roleplayer. It has been enojoyable.

PS: Sorry for the many edits, i just kept editing as my thoughts formed. I don’t like spamming the forums with multiple messages.

Glad to see more roleplay groups in Argent Dawn, and I’m glad you’re all having fun!

I would only have to say two things, if you don’t mind me.

There are Scarlet living mages that use frost magic in the Vanilla dungeon! The predominant element is fire, indeed, but there’s mages that use some frost in the Scarlet Crusade. Just mentioning it, in case you weren’t aware, though it’s completely understandable if it simply clashes with the namesake of the guild a little too much.

And the second question would be, is it leaning more towards Vanilla Scarlet Crusade, or the Warcraft RPG Scarlet Crusade?

Mostly asking because of these two posts.

Regardless, I hope you all have fun, and good luck with the guild!

Ah, I’ll certainly have to look further into this then and if that is the case then we will most certainly update it to reflect that!

What we mean by the CLASSIC version of the Scarlet Crusade we are meaning the tennants in which it was created for prior to the Dreadlord inclusion. Basing off the ideals of fanatically and zealously cleansing Lordaeron of the Undead in the name of the Light.

Also, since the Scarlet Crusade is really no more that means all their corrupt leaders are gone and it holds no obvious influence within the Brotherhood from what we’ve seen. So most of our join-ees are those flocking to the tennants the Scarlet Crusade promoted publicly.

With the Dwarf and High Elf allowable through recruitment, we see in the SM Dungeon there are statues to a Dwarf and High Elf, which tells us those individuals were reveared in the Scarlet Crusade and their deeds were those worth praising. We fully embrace the paranoia aspect which we believe came with the corruption from within. However, most of us are basing our recruitment off the good deeds, as any organization probably would. And the bad, ofc deny, deny, deny!

The level of paranoia we have is certainly there, however with the Brotherhood pamplets and the expressed desire to work with Gilneans then we recognize that the perceived ā€˜racism’ within the Crusade was perhaps merely for a conveinience. For a faction to be cut off from all living beings, seeing anything other than a human brought about suspicion.

I hope that can better explain it.

Raven priests are what the Scarlet Onslaught referred to shadow priests as, due to the more overt corruption of the Onslaught and the influence Mal’ganis more openly wielded over them. They seem to believe it’s a form of Light magic they wield.

These statues are more in limbo since we see the leadership of the Scarlet Crusade espousing human supremacist beliefs while they were still the Silver Hand, and some extremists in their ranks would later declare their work wouldn’t be complete until all of the world was freed from non-humans. We see the same sentiment in the Brotherhood phamplets.

We all know that Anduin Wrynn is a traitor to his race and does not deserve to be king. These facts are INDISPUTABLE.
So who should be king? For now, there is only one answer: Genn Greymane.
Yes, we must rally behind a shapeshifting monster, cursed by a night elf plague to spend half his life as a beast.
Why?
Because for all his many flaws, Greymane HATES the Forsaken. He wants the Banshee DEAD. His goals align with ours, and he has the forces to get the job done.
But do not worry, brothers and sisters. Greymane is NOT a long-term solution. We will follow him only until the undead are wiped out.
Then we will bring down Greymane and turn our blades upon the rest of his cursed kind.
It will be a challenge to hide your disdain for the mongrel worgen. But we must do it for a time, brothers and sisters.
Once Lordaeron is free of undead filth, the Scarlet Brotherhood will FINISH the job and ensure that only pure-blooded humans hold this land!

This is more than a convenience.

I may know of an upstart warband on the other red team who’d easily find an excuse to cause a stir in Hordaeron.

Good luck with this cool Scarlet Crusade project!

Having looked into this you are correct! We have updated the list to allow Frost Mages!

A refreshing take on the scarlets

I get the vibe of someone who looked at what the scarlet were and realized going back to basics was perhaps in order.
this as opposed to building or trying to patch up the crumbling wall that is/was the current scarlet.

Interacted with these guys a bit OOC in the past, and they are a great bunch! I am sure they are great IC as well, if you are into the zealous side of Light Worship and Undead smiting.

Looking forward to seeing your guild prosper, Dorn! Hopefully we can interact some IC’ly in the future

I tried but wasn’t lucky to encounter any :frowning:

Why not? :face_in_clouds:

Because brother Korloff does pandaren monkisms, I’d wager

Alright, I’ll bite. If Brother Korloff is an in-lore example of how ā€œpandaren monkismsā€ were incorporated by the Scarlet Crusade, only lending to how accessible the Pandaren martials are - remember, he was training loads of recruits there - then what is the IC reasoning for rejecting say, a monk trained by Brother Korloff or one of his apprentices?

Because it doesn’t make any sense? The Scarlet Crusade as written in the lore, as I noted in an earlier comment, is incredibly xenophobic to the point of even attacking other humans on sight. Pandaren monkism is a corruption they would have never allowed to spread amongst their ranks.

But they did?

So, either Korloff passed his foreign martial arts as rooted in the Light or convinced his superiors that this not a foreign magic but an energy inherent to all humans, or concealed the fact that it was a ā€˜pandarenism’ to begin with. Maybe the other crusaders thought he was a bit weird, but he got results so who can argue with that? Is there any additional lore on Korloff beside his appearance in the dungeon? I’m genuinely curious now.
