Naked thorgast layer 3 clear

I didn’t watch it. Other people told what that crap was about.

That is a 20K fireball that can crit, and it also feeds into ignite (which you will feed further into your ignite damage by following up with combustion.) It is why I said that collecting souls counts more than anima powers do. Having 15-30% intellect is still very strong and will amplify your burst phase. What can heavily distort the views here are the covenant abilities and the anima powers you can get on them.

I am not sure what to tell you in this case. Classes will always be unbalanced because of their base toolkit is more rounded out than others (just keep in mind that rogues complain a lot about thorgast, who also have a really strong toolkit as well.)

That is why you have the option to collect so many anima powers and spirits to mitigate this issue. Blizzard cannot really do anything if they give you the option to equalise RNG with a lot of orbs, but you choose to forgo them.

A lot here are claiming here that it is impossible with certain classes/specs. There is a difference in how fast specs clear Thorgast and handle bosses, but there is no such thing as “it is impossible to do Thorgast on X spec” is all that I am saying.

Then how ?

What does pet class matter?

idk its so easy to kite bosses as mage. dragons breath, frost nova, mirror images, ice block, 2 blinks, alter time. Theres also uncommon anima that guarantees success (at least for fire). Your fire blasts toss enemies into air. End boss never touches the ground.

As frost this should be easy on paper, but when boss gets 10 stacks and is immune to all CC along with 100% dmg bonus things may get hard  as frost i’m peaking at 4,4k while bursting, so 300k hp would take me around 68 seconds of constant burst without any interruption, boss won’t sit there and wait for more than a minute to die xD Frostchipper, the only op power is so rare despite it is blue, not even epic :stuck_out_tongue:

I only leveled as frost tbh. I try different combos each time to keep torghast ‘fresh’

well his point was for you to “git gud”

and he proven that

Do you honestly think being a class that has a built in tank they can heal, whilst being able to maintain 100% DPS whilst kiting, and having tools to facilitate getting away if they take aggro, makes no difference whatsoever and “plays the same” as a class that has to facetank a boss, and compromise their DPS whilst moving aoes?

Of course it makes a difference. It doesn’t make it undoable but acting like it makes no difference whatsoever is just absolutely daft.

But the video there is a monk. Not a hunter.

If he will upload such movies about every spec then he will prove this is “git gud” issue, not before. It’s all doable on all specs, but trivialising content that is hard to others makes someone elitist jerk to be honest, esp when playing class that has pocket tank and is pocket healer with dps all in one.

Oh my bad thought this ref to OP video.

Pont is threads like these are pointless. Unless every run and every class plays exactly the same these vids are nothing more than a humblebrag masquerading as friendly advice and motivation.

dont worry - it seems some people take on the chalenge since in this very thread you have such video of monk :0 by end of weekend there will be such videos of all classes

what will be your excuse then ?

I’m not looking for excuse as i’m not the one who proves anything here, i just want to see it

The only way I will accept it is mainly their skill that allows them to do it is if they post several videos accomplishing the feat with different powers.

It’s very easy to post a “it’s just skill” showing the one run where you got favourable powers and withholding the 10+ runs you canned because the powers didn’t add up. Skill indeed.

Exactly, ofcourse good results require good know-how of your class and spec, what you can do, and what you can’t do, but while some classes have anima powers that 2-3 shot final bosses, some specs struggle to kill those AoE packed groups with elites before said bosses, not even mentioning those 300k hp beasts who hit for 5-6k.

I cleared all levels both weeks as arcane mage, not going for runecloth wrappings as that ability is super broken. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge and can’t wait to see how the higher levels will be.

Exactly “what difference does a pet and kiting make? Surely a geared melee char can do it then”

Well, when the boss melees me for about 25% of my health a swing, it makes a pretty bloody big difference.

Yet I did it. I’m just so over people acting like it being possible meant it was as difficult as everyone else. Not true. I don’t imagine any hunters had to work even half as hard as I did in that first week.

I wasn’t even using lollering reprimand for the 10+ stuns nor had the benefit of sin/sub burst. Yet I got it done.

So unless someone else was doing those layer 3 bosses as outlaw with night Fae powers at 150ilevel and taking them down, they can go talk to a wall about how difficult it should have been.

So maybe only Frost is struggling, as Fire has this bumping mechanic and Arcane have extreme burst in burn phase, while i’m spamming frostbolt, sometimes 10 times without single proc.

You’re a hunter. Now do that as a warrior.
